I was surprised to read all of the bad reviews. It almost seems like the owners made someone mad... and that person had all their friends and family post bad reviews. The shop is clean and decorated in a fresh black and white motif, slightly farmhouse. The girls working were friendly enough and patient. Chairs aren't comfortable for a long sit and the barstools looked tiny! I was afraid to sit in one. Food: the berry danish was by far the best pastry we tried. Cinnamon roll and was also delicious. Butterhorn was a little dry. We bought a loaf of bread to take home for dinner and it was enjoyed with fresh pasta sauce spaghetti! Coffee was decent but the decaf tasted burnt. It gave off an odd smoky after taste. I would definitely go back! The turnovers looked yummy too and I would try them next! Bonus: during the summer the Farmer's Market is going on every Saturday! A fun downtown vibe with lots of great vendors, including our favorite goat milk soap maker Mazzeltov Farms!

I have not been to Moss Rose in a while so when I was in town I stopped by to pick up lunch . There is new owners. I noticed right away how organized everything was and there is cute decorations put up , a new register. It's like a tablet. MR is still cash only. I love how they are packaging the raviolis now. They are no longer in plastic bags but instead a nice case . I talked to new owner briefly and she was very friendly!! She told me that Bakery is coming along but there is still a long road to go. I'm excited to see what they do to the place. So I ordered a sticky bun for my grandma & a turkey sandwich for myself. Sandwich came with a side ( spaghetti salad, potato salad, or macaroni salad) , a cookie , and a drink . Cost me about $17 . My grandma thought the sticky bun was just ok she would not want it again. She only ate a quarter of it .My sandwich was small in size & tasted just ok . It came on a white sandwich roll that was nothing special. Sandwich was very plain tasting , only thing I could taste was the pepper jack cheese. And I was not a fan of the turkey they used . The macaroni salad was horrible I threw away. It tasted way too sweet!! I had a chocolate chip cookie that was good. I was disappointed in lunch today. I don't know when & if I'll be back.

If you say you are open then please make sure you are open and not disappoint customers. It is Thursday at 9:30 AM and you were closed. Very disappointing

A little pricey, but well worth a fresh out of the oven pastry. Their version of a sticky Bun is delicious!!!!

A mini one and a big one $3.50 that is twice the size of a regular cupcake. I opted for the big one and tried to brave it and finish it while all the time thinking geez-this is just too sweet and quit halfway! The presentation of the cupcakes were unique. I like it. Wrapped in paper like a flower. The decor is not much to write about either. I mean I really don't mind if the cupcakes were at least good. It was a dull environment to say the least. The lady behind the counter looked sad :( but helpful. She told us that they don't make their cupcakes on site but it comes from somewhere else and delivered there. Although the Kardashians and Jay Leno think that their cupcakes are the best! Their pictures are posted on the wall as you walk in. Having tried a similar flavored cupcake in Palo Alto recently this place fails in comparison big time. And sometimes size doesn't matter really. At least not here. *** I posted this review in the wrong location and fixed it today! Thx Leann E!

The inside is old school food place with photos of nostalgia of the country. Flow: You can call in and pick up for fast service or drop in and wait to be seated. It could be a long wait or it could be fast depending on the line. The service is fast though. They don't dilly dally and waste your time. If you are going to dine in you need to go to the counter and put your name in. Food: Leo Camarillo- You can order with pastrami, roast beef or both. (Not half and half) Lots of cheese and sautéed mushrooms. If you're not a mushroom fan just skip. This is so delicious I have been thinking about it ever since we got it. My wife doesn't like mushrooms and she still ate with the shrooms on. We ordered pastrami only. No ragrats! French Dip- My kids ate both halves and didn't even hook it up with a bite! It was juicy and the dip was perfect. Always add the cheese. The Italian- Loved the Italian. It had a lot of meats on it and the veggies were fresh. Topped with an Italian dressing. Salads- Pesto salad was my favorite. Excellent flavor. No heartburn. Spaghetti salad was the sleeper. Very unsuspecting. I thought it was going to be cold spaghetti sauce but it was tomato's and Italian dressing/seasoning. Potato salad was ok. We added pepper and salt. We ordered 3 sandwiches for 4 people and came home with an untouched half because there was so much food. Bill was less than $60 for all the food and the soft drinks. Will definitely be a frequent haunt now.

We each ordered the Havana, grilled ham, swiss, mustard aioli and sliced pickle on sourdough which comes a la carte, no side, and a sprinkling of fresh greens around the sandwich. My husband chose a Dying Breed pilsner. They offer soda but not traditional Coke or Pepsi, just so you know. They offer a nice selection of beer and wine, too. I opted for water which was kept filled. We did take exception with the payment screens and tipping options. We tip very generously when dining in restaurants with table service. When dining at a counter order, seat yourself restaurant we tip but not using the same scale. We realize much of this is built into the software used and not an option of the establishment. We took our order's number display and seated ourselves at a table in the long corridor-like dining area. We dined once at Cottonwood (negative experience) and the restaurant's footprint has remained the same. We would have opted to dine on the patio but it was a very windy day. Decor is fresh and features a local flair. The chairs and banquette have no padding though pillows are provided for one's back to lean against. We chatted with diners already seated and soon our lunch was served. Ingredients are high quality, ham could be sliced a bit thinner, the aoli and bread was also delicious! We will likely return and I may meet friends there, too.
