Chicken shawarma saj wrap
Charchey K.

There's not enough hype on this place. It's delicious! Only 3 things on the menu but you can make unlimited combos. Ordered the shawarma saj wrap traditional style and spicy. Fresh ingredients and made to order in front of you on delicious laffa flatbread. Trying to be healthy and I should've said no fries, but they were hot and fresh so I'll jog extra tomorrow. Place is super clean and staff is nice too. It's mumtez, يلا!

Chicken Shawarma

Exceptional chicken shawarma bowl!! So good! Pomegranate and mango sauce drizzled on top of bowl is so delicious.

The selections of fresh vegetables

It was nice to see a Shawarma and falafel restaurant open I'm a big fan of this Mediterranean type food. They have a very fresh selection. Kind of like make it yourself bowl. I got the Shawarma but next time I'll try to falafel. You can choose different sauces and he recommended the pomegranate sauce and it was a good choice for my Shawarma. It has an essence of suite, but it went well with the meat and vegetables. The portions were really nice, I was able to have some leftovers. And they tasted good the next day as well. The service was good and they were very helpful. They also have sandwiches as you'll see in the menu picture.

The food is delicious. The service is amazing, the owner is so nice. He is the real deal. Reasonably priced and you get a lot of food

Beef shawarma/ fries and falafel

I tried Moshiko for the first time. I got the beef shawarma sandwich/wrap which came with an order of fries. I added a side of falafel to that. I absolutely loved it. The shawarma was excellent and the falafel excellent too. Crisp to the bite fluffy seasoned and green(as it should be) on the inside. The hummus was very good as well! The service was efficient, dining in was a clean and comfortable area. Portion (shawarma size) very good. I would strongly suggest you have the mango (Amba) sauce in the shawarma! Definitely an authentic cuisine here. Next visit will have to be one of the shawarma bowls and more falafel.

food was amazing. Service was great very fresh and refreshing. I highly recommend this place. I come here quite a few times a week to get lunch or dinner.

Falafel

100/10!! This was my first time trying this place and I will definitely be back. It is SO clean inside. The service was amazing! They gave us the falafel for free! Y'all have to come here! (We couldn't wait to dig in, so the pictures are a few bites in)

Beef Shawarma bowl to go
Jonah T.

Just noticed this spot last night while out for a drive- so glad I stopped. Got a beef shawarma bowl to go. Excellent, I highly recommend. For about $20 (before tip), I got a very generous bowl that could have easily been 2 meals, had I not been famished. All the sides and pickled veggies were beautiful- very fresh and colorful, crisp, and flavorful. Felt very healthy, very satisfying.

Beef shawarma bowl

Excellent Mediterranean food! The beef and falafel were my favorite but everything I tried was a 10/10. Huge portions and friendly staff!

Great option for vegetarians honestly. Falafel - comes with toum and the green sauce, very yummy, well fried Hummus with bread was also really good. Wish we had more bread though. French fries - I was skeptical when my friend recommended this but honestly, nicely salted fries and perfect vessel for dipping into all the various sauces. The vegetable plates were absolutely delicious. The seasonal vegetable they had at the time was broccoli with harissa sauce which was yummy and I wish we had more of, honestly. The kale and cabbage salad was so good and refreshing. I'm normally not the biggest fan of kale but this salad was just so good, definitely recommend a large portion to share with everyone. We also got pickled cauliflowers as well, very fresh. Definitely loved all the sauces and all the vegetables. Felt like everything was very flavorful and refreshing. The move is definitely to share a bunch of dishes with friends so you get a little of every yummy thing. I would say that the 7 plates (including 2 falafel and 1 large kale salad) we got were enough for the 4 of us to feel comfortably satiated.

Soup had a great depth of flavor with just a little kick of heat. Chicken was tender, flavorful, and came with plenty of tzatziki for dipping that beautiful fluffy focaccia. Loved the cabbage salad. Fries were cooked perfectly and the dip that comes with them is unctuous. Service was friendly and nice. They get extra points for giving us some extra bread!! Dining room is a little tiny so you have to be quick to grab a table. Really loved it. We are already talking about when we can go back.

Like nobody unpacked any items in a while, just left everything as it was delivered. All the shelves are overflowing with different grocery items mostly snacks, I wonder how they keep up with expiration dates. Probably don't! You check in with a very soft spoken guy at the counter again covered in boxes of candy, snacks and let him know you have on line order. Mine wasn't ready right away so I took a stroll through cramped space between makeshift isles. Saw few interesting items but was scared to purchase due to not knowing how old the stuff actually is. Chicken shawarma comes with two sides, it was decent but on a drier side though and rice was the star for sure - perfectly cooked not clumpy and tasty. Accompanied salad was nice and fresh. Portion are good size. Salmon platter comes with 2 sides - rice and salad, rice again was good but salmon was very dry, like it was cooked yesterday and then reheated multiple times. Could hardly eat it. Order of appetizer hummus - very creamy and nicely seasoned but comes with only two kinda smallish pita breads really barely enough for 2 people. As dessert I ordered pistachio cheesecake - such a disappointment! It tasted weird, not at all like pistachio and didn't really resemble cheesecake but more pistachio mousse or something. Do not order!

We had a great experience and already have it on the list of go-tos when we are back in the city, as we return fairly often. First off, that bread. My gosh, I could have just sat for an hour and eaten it alone. I love that it just keeps coming too - we never once had to ask for more; by the time we were finishing up the pieces there, another set was delivered. Heaven. We had not one bad thing. The ikra was the surprise of the salatims/dips - so good - and the muhammara was excellent as well. That fried chicken hummus was perfect - so creamy and a bit of a different texture than most other hummus, but it worked. We tried the lamb kebabs and crispy halloumi - both of which were solid; however, when they say small plates, they mean small. I thought the serving sizes were a bit tiny. Nonetheless, we were full before even making it to the larger dinner plates and settled on the chocolate tart and knafeh cheesecake for dessert; honestly, I could have done without both. They weren't bad, but they weren't very flavorful to me. Definitely a 5-star, but if it wanted to be a 10-star, I would say a bit larger portions, better desserts, and more friendly service (he did his job but didn't really seem like he wanted to be there). Go now!

Order taken quickly at the counter: gyro wrap w/side of yellow rice, an order of Dolmas (8) and a soda. With tax & tip $34.88. Sat at a booth type table for comfort, only to discover we had to tip toe around the messy floor and I kicked away a ball of something rather than squish it. Husband said wrap was tasty but didn't remember they use a wrap instead of a pita for the gyro sandwich. (I had the gyro on our last visit.) Rice was good. My dolmas, however, were gross. I don't dip them in tzatziki, I typically like the taste. However, today the rice inside them was very, very gooey, as if they sat over the holiday. I ate 2.5 and threw the rest out. Someone came out to ask how things were but apparently didn't notice they were standing on rice. I didn't say anything about the dolmas, because by this time they were in the trash. Took home the remaining portion of the gyro, rice & tzatziki. Asked for a to go box, then asked again for lids for the sauce. Both times I interrupted someone playing on their phone, and the rest of the staff was hanging out talking behind the counter. Really wished they had taken the time to check the dining area.

The greens accompanying the fried cheese worked well with this dish. Our main entree was the beef shish kabob which came with a salad and hummus as well as pita bread. We had baklava for dessert which was delish. Two of us split the meal and we still had leftovers to take home. The ambiance is clean and sparse but they are waiting on furniture and artwork that will spice things up as well as a plan to make fresh pita bread in the dining area. We enjoy Mona's for its fresh homemade food, really nice owners, and its desire to continue serving New Orleanians when they had to pivot and move off Frenchmen Street. We will definitely return!
