Mr. Zachery Griffin was one of those teachers, a black girl was on her phone and Mr. Griffin told her to take it down the office but a white boy sad on his phone and the teacher only warned him and told him to put it away. Ms. Baron gets into a lot of students' faces and accidentally spits on them. Ms. Baron is not really professional and yells in the hallways. Some teachers like Ms. Stella Peeples don't let their students go to the bathroom when they actually really need to and one of those students had a medical problem. There was also a time when a black girl said the n-word and one of the administrators heard her and put her into 3 or 4 days of ISS. Although, there was a white boy who was dared to say the n-word for a DOLLAR and he said that money is money and he said the n-word. That boy got only 1 day of ISS. The administrator's son also said the n-word and obviously he got away with it. There was some privileges that students had that others didn't. Although, I'am happy to say that there are great teachers like Ms. Arnold who actually does her job and is fair. Ms. Arnold did a great job teaching and actually put in the effort. Coach Landrum was sweet and kind and there was never anything that you can say bad about him.

My 3 years here were the best years of my entire educational career - including college and grad school! This place really is the most amazing school ever. I remember my first day just like it was yesterday. I was accompanied by one of my best friends, who was also making the big switch to a more civilized school. We sat in front of the bathrooms for like 10 minutes trying to figure out which one was for boys and which was for girls. Turned out you just use whichever one is open! In addition to just being an awesome environment, where you are accepted for being whoever you are, Paideia has a great curriculum. The year is divided into short and long terms. In the long terms, you take the standard stuff - physics, math, languages, etc. The short term is for classes that are a little more outside the box - Sociology of American Rock & Roll anyone? The teachers here are absolutely outstanding! You can totally tell that they love the school and truly believe in it's mission. And Paul, the headmaster, is just an all around great guy. Graduation was awesome. My graduating class was 57 people and Paul made a short speech about every single one of us! I am so thankful that I was able to go to Paideia on a scholarship. When i go to the principal for help, the front office staff will tell me "He isnt here right now but ill leave him a message". Two weeks later i havent gotten a call up to the front office. The lunch food is horrible!!!! the chicken is cold, the milk has been sitting out for god knows how long and the lunch people are really rude. They stole money out of my account! And the teachers, some should get fired but elsewhere the rest of the teachers are average or excellent. The bathrooms are always broken and theere is little to no water that comes out of the faucets. The unirals always get clogged up and flood the bathrooms. The teachers are allowed to cuss at students and ive heard a teacher call a black person a monkey and a n***a. And when i went to report it the staff thought i was joking!! And some teachers throw stuff at students. lunches are expensive for the quality that the food is so i reccomend that you bring a lunch as long as possible. And your required to wear a certian uniform for P.E. which is like 15-20 dollars. Dress code is strict. but its all on girls not boys. As for the LGBTQ+ community supporters and pride supporters, you will be lucky to survive a school year without either getting a concussion by getting your head slamed into a locker door. The locker times are a bit off and you cant put anything in there except unused school items, watter bottles, devices, lunch boxes, and jackets. If you decide to play an insturment, be ready to spend a lot of money. as a clarinet player and a bass clarinet player,i usually spend 600 dollars a year on the insturments for items like reeds, ligatures, cork grease, swabs, maitnence, and cleaning tools. So i reccomend getting an insturment from music and arts but i dont reccomend getting an insturment from amazon, ebay or another website that is sold by a private seller as the insturment could be damaged. There are a few structural problems like cracking in the outer walls, water stains, and poorly sealed exterior doors. Otherwise i would reccomend going to another middle school like lovingood or Mcclure Middle school.

The Magnet crew is stellar all-around, and our kids made long-term quality friendships lasting beyond high school. We've had our runs but never been an athletic powerhouse, partly due to being the smallest 7A school by far in the state (moving to 6A in '20). Despite that Mustangs have frequented state tourneys/meets, and enjoyed great developmental coaches. From personal experience, the swim coach is the best in the state. Beyond the classroom the service opportunities include Mane Link, an outstanding servant leadership organization. The Special Needs Dance and Shop With A Mustang are two examples of how amazing this group is. Good teachers, supportive parent network, happy students are what you'll find at the Mountain.
