I go this school each year to chaperone and judge for a debate tournament for my school. It's a…read moretypical school, my only gripe is below. The largest debate tournament in the state takes place here each year (outside of the state tournament) and for some reason the heat is always off. It's freezing there in the morning, which is unfair to the students. It throws off their focus when they're shivering. I could barely write my comments in the room where I was judging. Honestly, I saw glaciers forming in the corners of the rooms. Some serious permafrost that I was slipping on. If the sprinklers go off we can play pond hockey in the gym. I had a conversation with a yeti when I went to the bathroom. I had to do the power squat so my butt cheeks wouldn't freeze to the toilet seat (I can imagine the pain now). Next year, I'm bringing my Paul Bunyan ax to chop some firewood so we can stay warm in the cafeteria. Get it together, the students deserve better.

The University of West Georgia is a fine institution. First of all, all of the school staff are for…read morethe most part very friendly and competent. If you have a question, the people of the department are generally able to give you what you need. The professors I have had have all been pretty good and knowledgeable. Just be smart and use RateMyProfessor to get the better ones. The facilities of the school vary, from very nice and modern to slightly rundown and outdated. I would say the better areas, the library, UCC, bookstore, and various academic buildings, outnumber the aging ones though. Overall it's a fairly lovely campus with lots of trees, which I'm told is good, and lots of people, weird people that talk to themselves. I'm not sure if this is just a UWG phenomenon or what but seriously if I had a nickel...anyway. If you're considering this school, go for it. It's pretty much a few steps above mediocre which is good, and the price is pretty manageable if you procure scholarships and whatnot. But if you ask this Alaskan Native American Mormon Red-headed left-handed, it's alright.

The campus is okay, but that is not where my problem is.My problem is with a particular person…read morenamed Wade Crenshaw.And if that is the appearance that the university wants to give , that is not a good way to bring more people in this person was very hostile , almost drill sergeant , I felt like he was trying to intimidate me.Which, of course don't go over well for anybody but if you happen to go to this place?Watch out for him or take your kids to watch out for him.He's the assistant director of the transportation side of things
