When we planned our trip to Lucerne, I knew I wanted to do some sort of chocolate class or tasting…read more After some internet research we booked the 2 hour chocolate tasting and chocolate bar workshop at the event and design studio.
The studio itself is very inviting and feels like you are coming into someone's home. After we arrived and checked in we were led into the event kitchen and given hats and aprons to put on for the chocolate bar making. Our host led us through their chocolate sourcing process and then we got to make our own chocolate bars. Once completed she gave us a tour of the working kitchen and we got to watch the head chocolatier making fresh filling and truffles.
Once the tour was complete we were led into a dining room space where we got to sample a bunch of the current seasonal truffles and chocolates as well as cacao juice made from the white pulp that surrounds the beans inside the pods.
While this class did not turn me into an at home chocolatier, it was very fun and informative and we had a great time. We also got to meet the owner, Patrik, who was incredibly friendly and visited with us about his son Max and how the company got it start.
