I went in for a massage with Misty last week. I had some issues going on other my lower back due to a car accident and a lot of tightness in my shoulder/shoulder blades. I thought that the issues in my lower back would require medical attention, but thought I would give this a shot first, as Misty has helped me with other issues in the past. Since the massage I have had no issues with my lower back, and the tightness in my shoulder is gone! Misty's process with deep tissue is a little painful, however the results cannot be matched. She is very educated on the anatomy of the muscles and knows what she is doing. So if you're able to get through a little discomfort in the process but want real results, she is your girl! I ordered a Groupon for a massage tried to schedule an appointment in March and was told that she was booked until July and she was not taking any appointments and I waited until today, which is the middle of May. Almost to try and schedule again with her and was told the exact same thing so basically she scammed me and took my money, do not do not trust this lady. I recently moved back to Modesto and desperately needed a new hair stylist .A friend recommended Miss Nancy Nelson to me and I decided to put my trust in Nancy Nelson . My appt was scheduled for 9;40 am and upon arrival, the doors weren't open and Nancy was late by 25 min .I really feel as though I could've overlooked the tardiness from the stylist . I have been bleaching my hair since age 17 and always provide a picture of the exact color and length to my stylists .I was adamant about my dislike for orange or bronze in my hair , I like it blonde . Nancy began foiling my hair around 10:30? After she had two 4 min phone calls , vis a vis chat with her boss , etc etc . The constant disruptions from Nancy talking to her coworkers , answering the phone etc etc , . Ate up 45 minutes plus another 10 minutes when Nancy had realized she didn't have her cutting sheers with her .She did managed to foil part of my hair by 12:15, and then she let me know she had to leave for a drs appt and would return in an hour or let her colleague finish my hair . Lastly , as Nancy left the salon she collected her fee of 150 Nancy left for her drs appointment with a promise to finish my hair and that my hair would be blonde . Next , who I assume was the store owner rinsed and toned my hair with a caveat that it wasn't done right and needed another 20 min toner application because Nancy had not only left the salon without finishing my hair but she Also messed my hair up (her coworkers words ) . I left that Salon feeling cheated , lied to , disrespected and my scalp burnt . I paid for services rendered that I did not receive.I walked out of mosaic salon greeted by my friends , they immediately said " Nancy messed your hair up , it's orange .They we're Correct , not only was my hair uneven , orange and poorly done , my head was burned on my scalp in 5 spots . Nancy texted a few days later that she would fix my hair .A month went by and I contacted Nancy with a plea for her to fix my hair as promised .I finally texted nancy months later and conveyed to her It was poorly done , and I would like her to fix it and she never replied . read more

I had sad limp curly hair with years of box dye, it needed help. But past horrible experience with my hair kept me at bay. My daughter had gone to Mosaic Salon for her hair cut and she raved on her stylist and suggested I give them a try. So, hesitantly I made a consult appointment with Sheena. I met with Sheena and right away she made me feel at ease. Which, with me and my hair, is nearly impossible to do. Sheena spent a good amount of time talking with me about my ideas and she had me find inspiration photos of what I liked and send them to her. By the time of my appointment for the color and cut, I had sent her several photos. Sheena took the time to go over the inspirations I sent, showed me what to expect with some of the color themes I had chose. She was very good, listened to everything (everything) I said and educated me so that I could make the best decision for my lifestyle. Moving on to the end result. I absolutely LOVE my hair, the color, the cut. Remember, I said I have curls. My hair hasn't been so happy since it was 20 something. The massage lady Misty is terrible, she began by giving me her available appointments and after I would respond she would reply hours later " sorry that appointment is now taken". She literally kept going back and forth with me about appointments she had available and then I'd say yes book me for that appointment, she'd reply again with sorry that appointment is taken. She did that like 5 times. She was playing games, I couldn't believe how unprofessional she was with me. I will never recommend anyone to see her! I once gave this salon 5 stars but now I am so disheartened to say I will not be going to this salon any longer. I brought my daughter in to see Sylvia to only straighten her hair and roll it in rollers. My daughter wash and blow dried her own hair. I usually pay $60 with a tip which is too much for a flat iron. Anyway, Sylvia tells me it is now $95.00. I paid even though I felt shocked by the amount. I have been going to Sylvia's for 15 years and we spoke about the Lord so I trusted her conscience. I prayed about texting her my concerns. I texted about the shock I felt since there was no price chart. Sylvia said she didn't not want to loose a long term customer over money and would refund me $40.00. I thanked her and expected credit. That was 3 weeks ago and I have texted her twice. She responded that it could be a couple of days. Then next text response was a smile emoji with shades. I still have not received my credit. I don't care about the money but I thought Sylvia was a true Christian so this hurts! read more

I was so excited that I could book the appointment so short notice. I had to have my hair styled for my engagement photos that afternoon. The store owner is who I dealt with the entire time. She said she'd be right with me, then left me sitting for 15-20 minutes. In the middle of a Saturday, I was shocked! It was a ghost town in there. No customers came in, no employees came out. Finally, when I got in the chair, she was on her phone the entire time. She must have answered five different calls. She didn't even act apologetic. When she moved my head, she used her finger tips in such a rough/rude way. She also didn't seem very interested in me. I know this sounds selfish, but I always look forward to talking while I get my hair cut. Instead, when she wasn't on the phone, she was telling me about herself: complaining about someone, or talking about another business she had. Towards the end it was obvious that I didn't like my hair, and I told her so. She just said, "tell me what you want me to do, and I'll do it." Well, Business Owner, I don't really know considering I'm not the one who does hair all day. I started to explain how my other hairdresser did it, and she said, "Why didn't go to her instead, then?" So, walking up to the counter with hair I hated... She told me my total was FORTY FIVE dollars. She didn't even wash my hair! Or cut it or ANYTHING. Literally just curled it and put in bobby pins (which, by the way, she picked up from the floor). I was so disgusted. Truly, the worse guest service I've experienced. Mosaic Salon very clearly has their dedicated regulars, but their service is not particularly the best for new customers. I scheduled an appointment twice for a massage. The first time, the therapist had an emergency which is no problem. That happens, but they lost my phone number and didn't call me to tell me in advance so I wouldn't have to go in. Additionally, when I came back in for my rescheduled time, the hair stylist (I also scheduled a hair cut) was 15 minutes late and didn't call into the salon to say that she'd be delayed. Overall, they were really friendly, and I received a great haircut (which was free because of the issues I encountered). If in the area, I would go back, and assume that my experience isn't the usual norm for the salon. I was fairly disappointed, but would definitely give them another chance. read more

Just got my haircut today by the awesomely talented Teddi, and I am so happy I stopped in. I needed help repairing a haircut I got that wasn't growing out how i wanted (feathery and weird). I stopped in without an appointment, but luckily they do walk-ins (although from now on I will for sure make appointments, to make sure I get the stylist I want). I didn't know what I wanted exactly, but I knew I wanted better than I walked in with. I walked out with a great cut that I am super happy about. Even my picky mother likes how it turned out! Ok, the other day I dyed my hair orange. Not purposefully, just stupidly. I had envisioned myself as a blonde Jessica Alba, bought a Feria kit from the drugstore, and after 2 days of fighting my better instincts, tried to go blonde. And ended up orange. Kind of like what Nicole S said about the whole Hispanic Ronald McDonald is how I felt after a professional highlighted my hair (which is naturally dark-brownish black) with blondish orange streaks. With respect to Halloween, I looked like a hispanic pumpkin with orange & black hair. Trick or Treat. I went to Mosaic after seeing their reviews on Yelp. I was able to pick my stylist by looking at pictures of them on line (what I would imagine picking an escort to be like) and I chose Vanessa because she had really great hair. I made an appointment only a day in advance. The interior was really modern and the was greeted promptly. Vanessa did a GREAT job fixing my mane and I walked out looking better than ever. Not impressed at all. I called last month to make an appointment for a trim and an eyebrow waxing. Surprise they had openings on a Saturday so I went in. They had 1 customer,no wonder I could come right in. The set up was very nice I will say that. My hair was washed and then whacked off. I have been trying to grow my hair out but did tell the stylist to cut whatever needed to be cut off. It was a log mord than what needed to be chopped. Oh and my stylist spilled the wax all over before the floor and wall so I had to go to my nail salon for a waxing. Needless to say I was not happy with my visit. We are always greeted right away with a smile. Silvia has always done a great job on our hair and is fair with her pricing witch is very important in this economy.
