Mo's Special: Rice, Sapa sui, Fa'alifu fa'i, corned beef and teriyaki chicken

Ordered from Mo's Hut right when I got to the Pacific Feats Festival and they did not disappoint!! Got the Mo's Special and the food was delicious & the customer service was wonderful. I'm pretty picky when it comes to sapa sui but Mo's Hut's was some of the best I've ever had and full of all the right flavors. Everything on the plate was delicious and I can't wait to try all of their other items during my next visit. If you haven't tried Polynesian food or are looking to satisfy your poly food craving, I definitely recommend coming here!! Comfort food straight from the heart foreal!!!

Hubby's friend works at Mo's Hut and he told us to come by on a Saturday to try out their food. We went this past Saturday and ordered their Hawaiian plate. We didn't get a chance to try it out there since we were pressed for time, but once I got home, I immediately took a bite of everything. My goodness! What can I say? Honestly words are hard to describe because there's just soo much flavor to it! It's not even overwhelming. I was savoring my plate because it was that good. Their Mac potato salad is drool worthy! I thought it was just potato salad until I saw the macaroni and man oh man, it just fits so perfectly with the plate! In Hubby's words, "it's A1!" We will most definitely be coming back for more! Supporting businesses like this is always the way to go! Make your way over to Mo's Hut, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed!

I've heard so much about this place and about a year ago took the leap to try them out. I've been going to them every chance I can get now! Their menu food items are amazingly delicious! I honestly have not had anything from them that I did not enjoy. EVERYTHING on their menu is out of this world! So if you're craving great, nostalgic island-style cuisine, Mo's Hut is the place to go currently located at the corner of Hesperian Blvd & Paseo Grande in San Lorenzo as of July 2022. Their plate portions are VERY generous! Love that they offer side portions of ALL of the menu items that come in the plates. Their palusami is the BEST I've ever had! Char Siu pork is tender and seasoned well as are their other meat entrees like the teriyaki chicken & beef. The green bananas cooked in coconut milk is a favorite for me but their baked taro is the best paired with the palusami. Their chop suey is flavored with just the right amount of ginger, I love it! And their two baked island desserts are a must-have, can't leave without getting some of the pineapple pies and the pāpā. What's even better about their food, tastes SO MUCH better warmed up the next day! (If it lasts that long in your home!)

This business catered an event, and was lucky enough to have a plate lunch, plus tried other items. DELICIOUS food, various grilled meat, corned beef, Mac salad, sapasui. We really enjoyed the generous portions. Better taste & quality than most local Hawaiian restaurants in the area. So good.

This place recently moved to my area in Hayward it is now located at the Ash and Locust Street corner in Hayward where the Portuguese club hall is. There's plenty of parking and everything seem very clean and tidy. There's even picnic tables to come sit at. My hamburger patty egg and gravy over rice plate was $10 and it's easily enough for two sensible people. Get one and split it

Overpriced for a plate, I would consider a free drink nd dessert for the prices they are charging.

This place is EXTRA delicious. Like... "why didn't I come here sooner?" delicious…read more It's tucked into a small strip mall in San Lorenzo -- small location, BIG flavor. Don't expect tons of seating, and it might not be ideal for a huge group, but there's plenty of parking and the service is excellent. Friendly, quick, and on point. Now let's talk food. Popcorn Chicken - Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly salty. Dangerous in the best way. I could've ordered a second round and called it a day. Won Ton Soup - Different from the usual won ton soup I've had. The broth had a slightly creamy vibe, and it was loaded with dumplings and chicken. Not my favorite dish of the night, but still solid. Hawaiian Platter (three meats + mac salad) - The meats were tender and flavorful, and that mac salad? Delish. Simple, comforting, done right. Kimchi Beef Sizzling Rice Plate (with fried egg + garlic butter) - Ohhhhh the garlic butter!!! This was the MVP. Came out sizzling hot, smelled amazing, and absolutely popped with flavor. Hearty, bold, and just flat-out delicious. Total home run. Bottom line: Great service. Sizzling plates. Full belly. Happy customer. Do yourself a favor -- swing by and support this local spot. You won't leave hungry.

There's only one person up front and it's more order up front, casual, rather than sit down. You order on your phone. My mom got the chicken and it was very moist and well seasoned. Just note you do still have to also cook the chicken. I would recommend this place for great pricing, freshness and experience.

Teriyaki City Grill has been on my list to try for a while since I keep getting mailers for it. I…read morelove teriyaki in general and usually order it at Japanese restaurants, so I have a certain flavor and look I expect, especially when it comes to the chicken. I remembered they have a happy hour deal from 2 PM to 5 PM for $9.95, which is a really good value. When I went in, there were a lot of employees working, but it took a while for someone to acknowledge me even though I was the only customer. Some were wiping tables, others were in the kitchen, and a few looked at me, but no one said hello or even that someone would be right with me. That kind of acknowledgment would have gone a long way. I eventually realized they wanted customers to order through the touchscreen kiosks. Even so, it would have been nice if someone had said something instead of leaving me to figure it out on my own. I ordered a spicy teriyaki bowl. There is no note section on the screen, so after placing my order I asked if they could make my chicken extra crispy or charred. Based on Yelp photos, the chicken usually does not have much char, which I prefer for both flavor and appearance. When my food was ready, the woman who handed it to me was the only person who was genuinely nice. The napkins were out and she noticed and immediately offered to grab some for me, which I appreciated. When I got home and opened my bowl, the chicken still was not as charred as I had requested. There were only a few light grill marks. The biggest disappointment was the sauce. Even though they say it is made in house, it was missing something and lacked that umami depth. Honestly, it was one of the worst teriyaki sauces I have had. The rice and steamed vegetables were fine, but the chicken and sauce are the main focus of a teriyaki bowl, and that is where this really fell short. If you put a bowl from Teriyaki City Grill next to one from Teriyaki Madness, just by looks alone, Teriyaki Madness is much more appetizing. Because of the service and the food, I do not think I will be coming here again.
