The…read moresprings were busted, the pullies needed replacement as did the cable extensions and the lock needed to be completely replaced. My experience with Pioneer began with Liz, the office manager, who was so knowledgeable about garage doors that I expected that she'd be the one arriving to my house to perform the work. Instead, Steve arrived on time, just two days after I called for services. He arrived smiling, friendly, and eager to perform the work. The work only took him about an hour to complete, including clean-up. Steve then walked me through everything he had done (including things not on the scope of work, like checking the structure itself, tightening everything, and reversing some of the amateur work that I had previously done in trying to fix the garage door myself). The pricing for the work performed was extremely reasonable, particularly considering the time that I had saved in having to attempt the various fixes myself. I cannot imagine a reason why I would trust any garage door work to be performed by any other company.

Our business involves moving heavy objects from the garage into the car and I would have had to carry them through the house to get the to the car outside. I contacted two companies with excellent reviews and the ability to schedule an appointment online. One of them called me back, completely disregarded the appointment I had scheduled and said the earliest they could see us was 5 days later. The other appointment was with Mass Garage - Ronen said he would see us the same day & kept in touch with us by text and phone to let us know when he was arriving. When he arrived he immediately knew what the problem was, explained what he was going to do and got it working quickly. However he wasn't satisfied and even though it was far past regular working hours he spent some extra time to get it working perfectly, better than it ever has worked since we've lived here. He took the time to explain what he was doing and pointed out several flaws in the way the door was originally installed. Normally this would be an opportunity for a repairman to try to upsell us to a much more expensive bill but he said "You're paying me to get your door working, not to do a big installation." and assured us that the door would work well for the foreseeable future. The only replacement part we had to pay for was minimal (a replacement cable). I don't know what these repairs normally cost but I got the sense that his price wasn't the cheapest but was reasonable. In my opinion it's worth paying a hard working, highly skilled technician what he/she is worth, especially when they are super responsive, arrive ASAP and do good honest quality work. Bonus: I was able to pay completely electronically by Apple Pay or credit card and get an email receipt. It's a small convenience but one I appreciated.
