Our garage door opener completely broke down last night and was far too heavy to open manually so our car was outside in the bitter cold AND I have surgery scheduled for tomorrow. Our business involves moving heavy objects from the garage into the car and I would have had to carry them through the house to get the to the car outside. I contacted two companies with excellent reviews and the ability to schedule an appointment online. One of them called me back, completely disregarded the appointment I had scheduled and said the earliest they could see us was 5 days later. The other appointment was with Mass Garage - Ronen said he would see us the same day & kept in touch with us by text and phone to let us know when he was arriving. When he arrived he immediately knew what the problem was, explained what he was going to do and got it working quickly. However he wasn't satisfied and even though it was far past regular working hours he spent some extra time to get it working perfectly, better than it ever has worked since we've lived here. He took the time to explain what he was doing and pointed out several flaws in the way the door was originally installed. Normally this would be an opportunity for a repairman to try to upsell us to a much more expensive bill but he said "You're paying me to get your door working, not to do a big installation." and assured us that the door would work well for the foreseeable future. The only replacement part we had to pay for was minimal (a replacement cable). I don't know what these repairs normally cost but I got the sense that his price wasn't the cheapest but was reasonable. In my opinion it's worth paying a hard working, highly skilled technician what he/she is worth, especially when they are super responsive, arrive ASAP and do good honest quality work. Bonus: I was able to pay completely electronically by Apple Pay or credit card and get an email receipt. It's a small convenience but one I appreciated. read more

Worst customer service ever. I called the company because my garage door was stuck and wouldn't close down freely. The person I talked to told me it would cost me a flat rate labor charge of $129.00 and I had to pre pay them first. So I sent payment and made an appointment. Next day he came and just took a look and said I needed a new door. He didn't even get his hands dirty or even touch a screw driver. So basically I had to pay $129.00 for having someone come for less than 30mins,Just to tell me my current garage door is broken and need replacement? He didn't even do anything at all!!! Booked an appointment for next day using online appointment booking form. Received a callback but couldn't get to the phone. Only info in the VM was to call them, but they closed 10 minutes after the VM was left so I couldn't reach them. I used the online form since my day was meeting heavy at work, but we needed someone to come out and provide an estimate. Turns out they were calling to tell me the estimate wasn't free and would cost $89. Why not post that on your site where it's easy to see and/or on your online appointment booking form? I didn't have anyone show up, but they did call me 13 minutes into my booked appointment time, which I took time off of work to attend. Why not leave those details in the VM and ask someone to leave a message confirming if they still want the appointment? Very simple way to overcome this. Overall, horrible communication to their customers. Won't be using them as first impressions matter and this first impression was pretty shitty and a waste of time on my end. read more

Fast response to initial request for repair should have been my first warning...but came out and left door in worse shape than when he came out. My garage door was partially working, and he correctly identified that spring needed to be replaced, but during repair as garage door was opening, loud crunching sound and second spring ruined, and gentleman telling me that second spring also in bad shape and needs to replaced. I was standing there during entire repair. When I said the second spring did not look like that before you came, he refused to finish the job and just left... and left the garage not functioning... I get accidents happen but to leave a customer in a worse off situation and completely leave the job is unacceptable business. read more

I called in the morning and left a message. Ronen called me back within a few minutes and walked me through scheduling an appointment via his website. A little clunky to do that instead of doing everything on the phone but maybe it's easier for him that way. This process involved prepaying a standard $129 charge. No free estimate, though I did not ask for that. Ronen was available the same morning. When he arrived, he explained that the garage door lock handle was not being turned completely and thus was causing the door to not open. He inspected the opening mechanism and lubricated the moving parts and lock. While he was there, he offered (for free) to inspect my other three garages and tuned them up as well. If I was able to, I would probably dock half a star for small things: clunky initial administration, lack of an estimate, and having more of an all-business demeanor (vs overly friendly). Still, I found Ronen to be professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. I would definitely use him again. read more

I had a very good experience with Ronen. Our garage was randomly opening/closing, which turned out to be a 5 minute fix. Instead of just leaving at that point, Ronen proceeded to examine the rest of the garage door. Turns out the door was not closing properly because of some problems with the rubber padding at the side of the garage, and the garage door was not properly aligned due to an issue with how it was installed. He also gave me some advice on the type of light bulb I should be using in the garage opener to prevent damage to the internal electronics. Anyway... I called him for a simple issue, and he fixed it and also all the other issues he saw instead of just turning a blind eye. Great service... would use him again. read more

I used Mass Garage Doors Expert when I was having trouble with my garage door. Ronen showed up an hour early so I wasn't at the house to meet him, but he was almost done when I arrived 20 minutes later! He explained what was wrong (broken springs) and what had caused them (cables were installed too tightly). While there, he also replaced a lightbulb in the controller, and showed me how to know if the springs needed to be replaced. When I asked about a new keypad, he said I probably only needed to replace the battery, but if I wanted, he can also install a new keypad. He swapped out the battery and sure enough, the buttons were more responsive. It was easy to book him and pay him, no unexpected charges, and no upsells. I'm super happy with his service! read more

Ronen Sisso and his wife are very hard workers and made me as happy as possible. She handles the office and quotes, he does the site inspections. I have a vintage car and needed my doors ripped out and new doors moved 6" out to fit the car. Ronen came out twice, measured the car and the space. he did great work, and even came back twice more to adjust some issues and the last time to just make it better looking (I didn't even ask). He has a nice personality, left everything cleaned up, and I think really cares about the customer experience. I didn't even get any other quotes. Only one other person returned my call, and then never showed up. IF YOU NEED TO GET IT DONE, choose MGD Expert. The economy is too good now, everyone is busy, but Ronen takes the time to get back to the customers. A+ is something I never experience, he gives that service! PS, I had my old doors repaired a few times by other giant companies, they try to renew and charge for things you don't need. It's always a different guy, and half the time when they get back to you they can't even remember which customer you are. Mass Garage Door is a family run business. Essentially Ronan and his wife ran the business. He completed the job according to his schedule and did extra work to raise the old door opener at no cost so it would operate correctly. After I paid him I noticed that he missed small things due to the fact that it took a lot longer to finish and by the time he was done it was too dark. He had no problem when I called him. He returned the next day after his other job and completed it. We are very happy with his workmanship and responsiveness. We will gladly recommend him to our friends and neighbors. read more

The price was reasonable. - Finished in just a half hour - Accepts credit cards, and is clearly well-organized in his customer management and billing through his phone, a side-benefit being that I had an emailed receipt immediately - Showed me how to make sensor adjustments to effectively 'future-proof' his work - The door now runs like its rails are made of butter. Horrible service. Mass Garage Doors replaced our garage chain. Within two days, the door would not close, or randomly stop opening halfway. We tried to adjust it according to the liftmaster manual - the adjustment would work for a day and then the same story would start all over. So 4 days later we called Mass Garage Doors to come and adjust it - and they refused to come and see unless we paid $129 again. If you do a repair with them, ask them to sign a paper that they will make sure it works and not try to charge you again. read more
