After Duke Louisville game in spectrum Me and my wonderful wife

Oh it was a few Saturday nights ago after Duke game in spectrum. This place is right in front of former epicenter. Don't let the small size of place fool you. Reasonable price cocktails and friendly service friendly bartenders. We definitely going back !

This is about the only plane In City center right now. The bartender was great. Sat at the bar, and had a great time chatting with locals. The Cheerwine cocktail- was dangerously delicious! Philly nachos!!

Mortimer's went above and beyond when I reached out to them about a large party lunch this past week. From allowing us to pre order, to having food ready upon arrival, to having the best attitude and the food being delicious, it was a phenomenal experience. Highly recommend!!!!

Came to Mortimer's for a quick bite to eat and felt the Cafe part was missing while the Pub part was spot on. Menu is pretty extensive but besides greasy bar food all other options are slim! I was trying to do low carb option and decided on salad! Asked about carb content of salad dressings and was told by the waitress to google it as she had no time to check or ask. If that will not get you irritated, perhaps plastic silverware will. Overall-not worth having a meal at Mortimer's unless you are drunk!

The only thing that sucked is the fact I don't live in Charlotte. If I lived here, this spot would be a favorite. The bartenders were great and I loved my sidecar. We had the fried macaroni and cheese and they were sooooo tasty. I wanted to order another batch. I had the chicken club wrap and my husband had the hall of phone philly. I loved my food and he loved his. Great job guys! I highly recommend this place.

My friend and I took lunch from a convention we were at across the street at the Ritz. Pretty tasty lunch and beer, nice service, and off we went. We had only gone a short distance before noticing smoke in the street and come to find out, there's a fire in the hotel! So as the building (and all of our conference mates) were evacuated and replaced with fire fighters turned out for a high rise rescue operation, we realized we would not be returning to work real soon... so back to Mortimers! Upon our return to Mortimers, we continued to enjoy beverages and friendly conversation, until we learned there had been a shooting right outside! Now the shooter did not get caught and the police were treating it like an "active shooter" situation, and we became locked inside Mortimers. Imagine how upset we were at being locked inside a bar with some nice folks on a workday while our place of business for the day burned.... I'm telling ya we came up aces!

The bar is divey, and you can find very cheap drinks, especially if you go for the daily specials. In addition to monthly bingo, they seem to host drag events, have video games and board games available to play, as well as several TVs. Plus, dogs can go inside and out. I have only been in a few times so I can comment on if their patrons typically adhere to this code of conduct! Overall I think it is worth checking out if you've never been and maybe it will grab you and you will want to become a regular. Me personally it's a little out of the way to become a regular haunt located in between Plaza and NoDa but not walking distance from either. Also it's not that the service was ever unfriendly but I just didn't feel like it was my vibe. Still a cool bar though and I can see why other enjoy it.

The Brussels sprouts were on point unfortunately the chicharrones fell flat as they were drowned in hot sauce which made them soggy almost immediately. Tip - Try them with the sauce on the side. Spot was quiet on a Wednesday night and the vibe was laid back and unpretentious. This made for efficient service. Not sure how a busier night would unfold. We came in at a time when it wasn't really busy, but it took forever for our server to come around. Ordered two glasses of red and the cheese plate only to be told after we received the wine that there was no charcuterie -- at all. Not a "need to substitute" or "we're missing one of the items" just completely 86ed. Despite being prominently featured at the top of the menu! Since we already had our wine, we had to order something else. I went with the cheese sticks, and my mom ordered a hamburger based on what the table next to us had. When she got her burger though, despite us ordering the same as the table next to us, it was a completely different burger. She ate it anyway and my cheese sticks were okay for pub food. But overall, a really disappointing experience based on what we expected. And we had to hunt down the server to pay so we could get back to the conference on time.

The German biers are some of the best I've tried. Both the Cooper altbier and Hornets Nest were excellent while their porter was a little too heavy for me. I'd recommend the sampler plate with the Jalapeño Cheddar Bratwurst as one choice ( you get three) and Jumbo Pretzel with Cooper Bier cheese & Düsseldorf mustard. The sides, such as their German potato salad, red cabbage and sauerkraut are very good. In addition theres a good selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads to choose from. The outside venue is amazing with ample outside seating featuring a fire pit, corn hole ( collect bags at the bar), children's playground and a water station for pets. One note parking could be problematic when it gets busy on weekends or special occasions but if you're willing to walk you'll find parking somewhere .
