I have not been able to get in touch with the loan officer Mark Huddleson. I asked questions, Mark directly disregarded those questions, and when I followed up with him to once again ask for insight regarding those questions, he has yet to reply in four days. This is after they ran a hard credit pull without clarifying that on their application. Other lenders I have been in touch with have never run hard credit pulls without specifying that to their potential customers. Mark's automated response and his original reply to me both contain numerous punctuational and grammatical errors. Based on this, I cannot recommend anyone contact this company for mortgage assistance. read more

Run far far away. They have no idea what they are doing. They raised my boyfriends payment 600.00 saying it was because the taxes went up and he's made payments every month and now he just got a letter stating his home is in jeopardy of foreclosure for non payment. Rediculous. Everyone at this company is rude and you can't get a direct answer and every answer is different from the next person you talk to. Run far far away. read more

My fiance applied for a mortgage through this company and it was nothing but a nightmare. They kept losing documents asking for the same things to be sent over numerous times. Once all required documents were sent in the underwriter was supposed to be reviewing the loan and sending over closing papers. The last day of closing still nothing. Sent messages every single day asking what was going on and was told every day "we are waiting on the underwriter. They should finish this afternoon" fast forward a week later and the closing day is upon us with nothing. Doesn't make any sense how a company can ask for your entire life story and make you jump through hoops for 6 long weeks then never give you a response. Complete waste of time read more

Idk what that other guy is talking about. Everyone I've dealt with at this place are great. Maybe you shouldn't buy sketchy houses and then they won't force you to follow those crazy demands? Anyhow, I went with mortgage 1 for our first mortgage. Things went incredibly well and Mark kept in contact with us daily to get things done. I have just finished refinancing with Mark again 3 years later and things couldn't have went any smoother. He helps out in every way possible and is always full of suggestions if you have an issue. read more

Look somewhere else for a mortgage broker. I closed on a mortgage for a new house with Mortgage 1 and it was an unpleasant experience. I worked with Jean-Paul Avallone. I am disgusted and disappointed with the work he and Mortgage 1 performed. Jean-Paul had a nonchalant attitude toward his errors and delays and appeared to have no interest in the details. This might be what he does everyday, but his average customer doesn't buy or sell a home so often it's not a major transaction. His errors created risk for me and the sellers. While being my contact person, and having sold me on "customer service," he appeared to NOT be in charge or control of his team. His internal underwriting department asked for basic information less than a week before closing and they caused closing to be delayed. Further, there were mistakes in the closing papers and he could not produce the HUD statement until 20 minutes AFTER closing had begun. Ultimately, while we closed, Jean-Paul Avallone and Mortgage 1 failed in the company's mission to provide good customer service. You deserve better. read more

The customer service I received was terrible. These people acted like they have been doing mortgages for a very long time, but in truth, they don't know anything. I got pre-approved at the end of April, which even that took three weeks to accomplish. Then, the seller accepted our offer at the beginning of May. I have done nothing but fought tooth and nail to get this thing to work. The property had a few issues on determining what the structure was. however, the appraisal came back in our favor for the loan. Then, it still wasn't enough. We had to get an engineer to create a letter stating what the structure of the house was. I was told that the underwriter would bow down to this letter. I presented the letter to the MLO on Monday July 21. On July 28-7 days later, I am told that the underwriter will not approve this loan based on the property. Not only have you wasted my time and money, but you've also wasted the sellers, the realtors, and the title company's. I will never do business with Mortgage 1 again, nor will I recommend them to anyone else I know. read more
