That is, until she completely ghosted us and dropped the ball on the application process. We were told multiple times, at the tour and leading up to applying, that we could recover our administrative fees (not the application fees) if we decided not to move forward or if our application was denied. Well, once we saw how poorly things were going and how the leasing consultant dropped off the map, we got a bad feeling and decided to back out and request our money back. After no response initially when asking when we would get the fees back, the leasing consultant tried to be clever and left a message for my (grown but much younger) roommate /family member whom she had never dealt with the entire time except for meeting them at the tour. As she was being avoidant with me, I guess she thought this was the weakest link.(This is absolutely untrue! Interestingly, as soon as we pulled up for the tour - before even going inside - my roommate said "THIS IS A NO". This is a very intuitive and wise person whose vibes about something are always very strong and accurate.) She stated in the voice message that the application never went through and that because of this, we couldn't get our administrative fees back. We did our part and had evidence we did. So, why? I'll tell you why. SHE didn't do her part to get it to the next stage of processing, whether purposely for some reason or inadvertently, and as a result, we had to pay the price for this - literally and figuratively. She took no ownership for this, but if it was purposeful, then why would she? I wonder what happens to the money because it doesn't just end up in a black hole. Someone has it. Seems unfair and unethical. I called their home office about it, but no one ever responded. Can't say that's surprising because the pattern of poor service often trickles down from the top. I'm actually glad we didn't end up living here. Even though the overall score on other review platforms is acceptable and some are high, many of the specific, less positive reviews share common themes. Additionally, everyone has a different standard of excellence depending on their personality and prior experiences elsewhere. Sometimes that thing that seems great, really isn't. It's only an improvement from the prior. (For example, if we were previously unhoused, then ANY home - no matter how bad - might seem amazing.) In summary, this place seems professional and nice at first, but the true colors eventually come out and the facade is evident. Definitely beware of wolves in sheep clothing here. I do not recommend it, no matter how pretty, new, and shiny it is.

I was shocked as I entered the property because I didn't know it was this expansive or nice to the eye at least. This is a gates community. The gate does work. I mention that because some properties are gated but their gate does not work. The property was very clean. There was no loitering, loud noise or other issues that I could spot as I was passing through. I did not see anything out of the ordinary. The grounds are very up to date. My only two negatives I have one is really no fault of anyone's. The walls are thin so noise can be an issue from neighbors. The apartment offer great amenities one being basic cable in which a small fee is included in your rent and you can not opt out and have the amount deducted from the utility part (which includes water, alarm etc.) of the rent. If/when there is an increase in the Comcast agreement your rent will have a slight increase. The positive is you do receive some free equipment from Comcast and a discount on your bill. I would definitely recommend the apartments. I'm overall very happy and love my apartment.

I am a current resident at The Pointe at Collier Hills and I have a month and a few weeks left on…read morethe year lease that I signed. I have never truly regretted making a decision especially one that pertains to my shelter. You'd think with paying close to $2000 a month, the level of service and just the overall interaction with the management staff would be better. I should've known when I initially moved in that I'd have problems here. A friend of mine moved here a few months prior and felt that things could be better only after I had made the decision to move into the apartment community was that expressed to me. I have added the pictures to better explain and give a visual of my current situation. This is one of many incidents that have taken place since I moved into the apartment community. Just to briefly give a summary of my experience upon moving in I was never walked through my apartment I was literally handed the keys and a folder with paperwork. I had to ask for them to send me the link to pay my rent for the first time because it was never explained. Well it was never sent and they also added a late fee although I had asked an hour before the late fee was added. That's the first situation and I've experienced multiple. A water incident back in July, multiple maintenance situations, my guest was harassed and held up at the gate by a resident and the management condoned it right in front of me and made an excuse even, a break in occurred in November and my glass was broken out of the back patio door and it took them over a week to fix it. I am here now, yet again another water incident which resulted in the ceiling falling down along with gallons of water onto myself and my dog in the wee hours of the morning. The pictures posted are real time pictures of the state of my apartment for 11 days after the water incident occurred on 12/10/18. Not one time did the management ask was I ok nor had they even attempted to come over to check the state of my apartment which was uninhabitable. They told me I'd have to go through my insurance company again for the 3rd time and I have still not been handled appropriately, the company's attorney even attempted to treat me inappropriately and talk to me very aggressively. Empathy is clearly not the company's strong point and they seem to struggle handling things in a timely manner. I have been told they don't know who the properties insurance company is, which is what the property manager told me. The attorneys have yet to comply with me the property manager told me they are dealing with a very big case. I asked to speak with the owners and the property manager told me (even after I expressed this situation has yet to be resolved or really talked through after almost a month) that I should keep in mind it is a holiday week and not everyone is in the office. This has been the most mentally, physically and spiritually draining occurrence that has transpired in my life to date and between me having to be mishandled almost on a daily through my correspondence with the management. I have experienced a decline in everything in my life from this situation, my professional/financial , academic, and just my mental/physical health. Even when I've expressed this in my several attempts to settle this matter, I feel the property manager thinks it's a joke because she constantly chuckles, giggles and I suppose she attempting to make me smile throughout the process of dealing with such a chaotic situation but I have yet to find any humor or reason to smile at any point since this all transpired, as I have truly been trying to maintain composure and keep my mind off of it all to keep from breaking. I am exhausted at this point and wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. All I ask is for those seeking an apartment community to consider checking into the reviews and truly making sure you are informed. To management or a word of advice to the owners get new management staff or promote the assistant property manager because she's much more proactive and handles things accordingly. It's truly disheartening and I feel like I'm in a bad dream but typing this makes me realize it's my reality. The pictures show how the maintenance moved around and broke my very expensive antique/ retro hand painted Italian furniture, how the third party restoration company used my dishes and left urine on my toilet seat and just left my home in disarray. P.S. They haven't prorated my rent, never asked me to move into another unit until the work was done and I almost had to beg them to clean it after they were done destroying my personal belongings.

Big thanks to Mike Long, the maintenance pro who quickly and skillfully knocked out five issues for us today: fixed two door hinges, realigned the laundry room door (in like 3-4 minutes!), and figured out two false alarms: the garbage disposal (just unplugged) and the dryer (breaker issue). We were stressed (we tried DIY remedy's), but for Mike, it was nothing. Everything's working perfectly now. Really appreciate his knowledge, quick work, and The Alcove's consistency in prompt service!

UPDATED REVIEW: They must be offering an incentive for positive reviews. I've lived here for 4…read moreyears now. The Alcove has been under new management since my previous post and RPM IS HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. THEY ARE CURRENTLY UNDERSTAFFED AND DO NOT HAVE THE CAPACITY TO FIX THINGS FOR ALMOST A MONTH. 1.To start, the turnover here is insane. Every other month people are quitting and new people come in and leave. They can't keep good people and I fear for the integrity of our security with so many different people having access to our apartments. Customer service is linked to a Florida number and that team has limited function/obsolete. Office staff sometimes leave before office hours are over. Office closes now during the week at 5:30 pm. Most people get off at 5 pm. 2. Towards the beginning of spring and into summer the Alcove had a horrible venomous snake issue. We residents spoke to the office about the snakes and snake holes surrounding our building and were told to "watch out." I had to call animal control to remove a snake from inside my apartment. Then almost stepped on one that had been hanging out on my doorstep. I had maintenance remove a snake that was near my apartment where I walk my small dog and my neighbors toddler plays often. My neighbors and I complained for a while and this was not an emergency for management, leaving children, adults, and pets vulnerable to being bitten. It took multiple visits for them to call pest control. 3. Our mailboxes were broken into mid July, not fixed for almost a month. I spoke to the leasing office & a representative from corporate in person to ask them to fix it. After 2 weeks I called. A customer service agent said that they would let the office know. Mailboxes were wide open with peoples mail in them and all over the ground in front for almost a month. All they needed to do was fix the locks. Neglect to protect our privacy and secure sensitive information. 4. The water heater in our upstairs neighbor's apartment busted and the water leaked from the ceiling into our apartment. We called maintenance to come fix it. Maintenance left a key to my door hanging out of the lock and left; there was no worker around when I came from work. On top of that they left the stain from the leak on the ceiling for months. *Thanks Hilmon for fixing that and having the holes in the wall repaired appropriately. 5. We've had to put in multiple requests for the same maintenance issues. Our fridge went out and they replaced it with a smaller fridge. 6. Lately we've had more break-ins and shady people around the apartments. Packages are going missing. We've had to create a buddy system with neighbors to bring our packages in so they aren't stolen, even installed cameras. Neighbors that I trust and have been here for years are leaving. 7. The manager told me that our amenities are only available during office hours. The access cards weren't working for a while for those of you who care about the gym. 8. Last but certainly not least, I recently had a death in the family and Grayson called me in the evening to discuss my lease renewal. I told him I had just had a death in the family and he still continued to ask me when I could sign the new lease because of something with their system. We had originally agreed to a 6 month lease and the quote was for the original amount of my current lease. Grayson sent me a 1 year lease by mistake and needed to update the lease for us to sign. After making funeral arrangements I tried to view the lease and realized the viewing system was skipping pages. I reached out to Grayson for remedy and he said that it must be my device. I've never had this issue before. I downloaded a copy of the lease from the resident portal and sent it to Grayson last night. Our rent is due on the 3rd and the quote provided for our rent is not available in the system. The amount listed in the system is more than $400 above my current rent. Whoever owns this company should hire new staff. Ms. Merry is great but a lot of the others can go.
