The restrictions were clean and it was a short walk to the beautiful trail. There was a restaurant very close by that we'd like to try next visit. The staff were super friendly. We had a knock on the door from park police. Apparently the staff at entry didn't have our tags marked for the appropriate days. A quick drive up front and all was resolved. Certainly a park worth repeating if our other preferred spots are full.

Sandy three mile stretch of beach from the Rock to the camp grounds. There are lifeguards on duty, all ready with their gear ready to save a life. I know they are there daily in the summer, not sure about the other months. This is a popular spot with surfers. Good waves. Another tidbit to know is that there are restroom located in the parking lot. Also smack in the middle of the lot is the California State Historical Marker #821-Morro Rock. I think it's worth a quick stop to read the plaque, take a quick moment to soak in the gorgeous direct view of the rock and not to get all sentimental but also reflect on the past, present and future. Another another tidbit is that dogs and horses are not allowed on the beach due to the protected shorebird habitat such as the western snowy plover that nest from March-September and live here. Service dogs on a leash are allowed though. But so many folks broke the rule once the lifeguards left for the day. Ironic, people want wildlife and nature to be able to visit and enjoy but don't want to follow the rules that protect all those things they enjoy. Go figure?!

I've lived in California most of my life and have been to almost every beach, so it's funny that this one in Morro never really came to mind especially since it's not that far from us. When I finally came last year, I really enjoyed it. The beach was clean, beautiful, and peaceful. There were lots of sand dollars along the shore and even some wildlife, which made it feel even more special. Since that first trip, we've come back about four more times. Locals call the park, Pirate Park, due to the child's pirate ship play structure and nautical theme. The park is two acres advertised as having a children's play area, picnic tables with BBQs, green lawns, public parking lot (2), fish washing station, boater side dock with pump out for waste and access to fresh water, public restroom with showers, walking path towards the waterfront shops, boat launch, and stairs accessing the mud flats. The boat launch parking lot is not free anymore. Effective March 2026, ya gotta pay. Pay varies based on lot size. You can pay daily or get an annual pass. But it's free to launch your boat if that's any consolation. If you're looking for a place to launch your personal crafts (small skiffs, kayaks); this is the place. There are two parking lots. One on each side of the park. The lot furthest south has the boat launch and the lot has spaces large enough for trailers. Plus I gotta comment on the children's play area. It's not a typical park like playground, there are no swings or play equipment. They do have a sand filled area with a mini pirate ship and cute nautical themed concrete statues (octopus, seals, whale tail). What can go wrong with rambunctious kiddos and concrete climbable statues?!

They had employees that never identified herself just leaving her poor dog inside all day is pretty much animal cruelty all day long those dogs barked at everyone Ang everything and the " non identifying lot manager " even apologized to me about the non stop bark. I cannot believe that a manager who do such a thing like that poor dog. It was nonsense the pole light next to the spot we were assigned if so bright it shown through our window like close encounters so we closed the curtain and with that any cross breeze it was just poor development planning and if the pole light have to look like a stadium it makes me question over all security. The owner seems like a good person but the trend with owners especially the over than 80 crowd tend not to spend on upgrades dollar tree curtains no ADA no business being there place has so much potential but this place never again. Their unidentified manager was rude and I can't believe Jerry the owner is allowing such an inept person who has no problem with bullying renters and mingling in our business unidentified I mean really a vest a coat a name badge I didn't know this fucking lady from anyone and that's what irritates me. There was no owner representation and all of a sudden they want to start a cussing match in front of me and my children and I'm not gonna sit in Stan for that. My kids are sitting there listening she's being confrontational police we're called out and because the owner is clearly has a fascination for his lot two manager he decided to take her word for it and we were evicted. I'm not bitter about that. I'm bitter about how hard I tried to have a good vacation with my family and that their managers do not identify themselves and if we were saying something too loud like the people that were partying five things over then that would be different, but no one came over and asked to say you're being loud or whatever we didn't get off our fishing boat till late so I don't understand how this is a trouble we've done nothing but come here and try to support the community and you know something she just let slide because you're on vacation, but I'm no longer gonna be able to sit back and ignore these atrocious ADA compliance including the washing machines and everything else everything is mounted too high. Everything supposed to be mounted 34 inches for accessibility and there's a bunch of things that are incorrect so I'll be very cautious here if you were in the elderly and that it's not a very safe place to use the bathroom and clearly it's not a safe place or they wouldn't have the giant UFO towers shining down and everybody's lights so I'm not sure how things escalated but all I did was try to have a vacation with my family we had one night left and we were leaving in the morning first thing so the audacity of these folks to make us move and we all had to do was stay. One night is ridiculous. I've already paid the money and this lady's personal opinion, even though I didn't even know who this lady was has caused my family now to be looking for another place to stay so I'm not bitter like I said, I just want everybody to know the truth about this place because I used to turn the cheek and say well it's OK because they're such a nice people but not anymore obviously somethings going on they're obviously hurting for money. They certainly don't put anything back into their bathrooms they stink they smell like mold, and they have literally one PVC liner separating the powers from strangers. I have two sons that are under the age of 18. I don't want anybody in that situation. So if you want to use their bathrooms for showering and all that and you have a little ones I strongly recommend it best to use the shower in your RV

We took the exercise loop and went up black hill trail, and then took grove trail on the way back and linked back to exercise trail -back to parking lot. Bring hat and water- the trail is partially shady but gets really hot. Some breeze, great views up top! Caution: there's a lot of poison ivy lining the path- don't advise small children or pets on the trail.

Yes, there are signs about pets staying off the grass and off other rv spaces, but let's be real... a lot of people don't pickup after their pets and don't keep them on a leash... that's why they feel the need for the signs. Our fur baby was welcomed, became accustomed to using the pet area, and because I walked her in the center of the park roads if she couldn't wait for the pet area I simply kept bags with me and immediately cleaned it up. Common courtesy I'd say. The park is exceptionally well maintained, clean, quiet and VERY friendly. Pool and hot tub are spotless and well maintained. Several children off and on throughout our stay who played and had fun but were well behaved... a testament to thoughtful and active parents. Many long term and repeat customers so they are definitely doing it right! We have booked our summer stay for the next 2 years!
