I had just moved to this area and tried Morrisons for the first time. It is February 2010. From the outside it looked very well and clean. The first section i came to was the fruit and veg section. And the first thing i heard was a female member of staff swearing like there was no tomorrow. I quickly left that section and carried on round the store. The shop looked fairly well clean. I went to the deli section to get some meat. Three members of staff were huddled talking and although they saw me left me until they had finished their conversation. When one of them did serve me, i found her very rude and abrupt. I came to the bakery section where all i could hear was constant swearing, laughing and shouting. They weren't quiet about it either. How any bread gets made i've no idea. I picked up a pack of "freshly made" doughnuts which looked like they had come straight out of a chip pan. They were flat and were literally dripping with grease. I thought from the adverts that the bakers at morrisons were supposed to be proffesional and fully trained. From the look of some of these products it didn't look like they had a clue what they were doing. I found an uncut loaf of bread which i waited to have sliced. About three bakers walked straight past me and ignored me and other members of staff did the same, so i left the bread and gave up. Come to the cake shop. Not that you would know it was the cake shop as there were only about two cream buns in a massive fridge. This was the middle of the afternoon so i would have expected the store to be fully stocked. I looked to the bakery which is at the side of the cake shop fridge and saw about five members of staff stood in a group talking and laughing and not doing much else. I picked up one of the buns. The packaging looked like it had been stepped on and the label looked like it had been ripped off and put back on again, so i left that and moved on. I definitely wasn't impressed by now, neither with the staff or the shop, so i took the few items i had to the tills. The girl on the till was polite, which was a refreshing change from the rest of the shop. I left quickly and have been back twice since, only because i could not get out to a different shop due to the snow and needed some essentials. Everything about it was exactly as it had been that first time. From my experience, the staff are rude and ignorant and the products they make look like they have been made by incompetents. Next time i will stock up when the weather is bad so i don't have to visit this severely lacking store ever again. read more
