I like the value range - not everything is delicious but with a bit of trial and error it is possible to make some serious savings from your regular brands. Unlike a lot of supermarkets the aisles have not been narrowed to fit in extra stock. Not a good start to.my Saturday…read more I have just started using Asda rewards, & not too sure how to use it. Visited Handsworth Sheffield, the lady on the self check outs was so rude, & spoiled my day. 3 times she said " I haven't got time to show you. Go to groceries, which I couldn't see. I felt embarrassed & patronised. I then told a Manager, & the the reply was, " she can be a bit abrupt sometimes" no apology. Well dear, don't wear a Happy to help top & claim to be an Asda colleague of the year. You are in the wrong job. Merry Christmas (NOT )

All none food stuffs can be found upstairs on the mezzanine floor, which means you get to play on the travelator. The pizza counter is well worth paying a visit to as you can get freshly made pizzas reasonably cheaply. Also, listen out for the compère at the front of the store. They're usually hilarious as they try their best to flog you bags of carrots and the like for a whole 2p less than usual.

Morrisons Hillsborough Barracks, Sheffield, has taken another big step downhill. Went on 2/1/25…read more (at 3pm, on a Thursday). The hot food counter is now gone. Replaced by steel racks containing items in cardboard boxes, which you can't really see into. There are lables on the shelves, but it is hard to view the actual food to know what you are getting. I had a good look but couldn't find any chicken legs or thighs. Also the problem of bare shelves. This is a big store, but there was no Morrisons own brand Wholewheat Muesli, no own brand Fruit & Fibre Flakes. And the fish counter had a £3.75 each or 3 for £10 on the twin packs of cod / haddock in breadrumbs / batter, but they only had 1 packet of cod in batter and 1 packet of haddock in batter, and nothing at all in breadcrumbs, so the 3 for £10 offer was unavailable, and the haddock had a use-by date of 3 Jan, i.e. the next day! I have an unspent £5 voucher from my More Card, but once I have spent it I will not be shopping at Morrisons again. It is a 3-mile drive south for me, and the same distance north is the Fox Valley retail park, which has proper butchers, bakers, hot food shops, etc, and Stocksbridge Co-op maybe expensive but always has its own-brand breakfast cereals in stock.

But I swear to God, if…read moreI was, then I would be starting a 12 year stretch right now for what that cunt of a manager at @Morrisons Hillsborough and his staff have done to my neurodisabled daughter #raging Staff accused her of shoplifting because she adjusted her brastrap walking through the checkouts, saying that they had seen her put something down her top. Didn't call security, didn't call the police, just plainly accused her. She's been having panic attacks ever since. That was 2 weeks ago. After 4 different versions of events from them over the last week, which we have proved to be lies, he tried to justify their actions saying they can accuse on suspicion without evidence, and she had the biggest panic attack we've ever seen, and he was so fucking blasé about it. Because of her disabilities, she wasn't confident to go out in public until a couple of years ago, now she won't go out alone again because of this. She's also now back in therapy because of it. Absolutely fucking raging and I won't rest until his career goes now for this!!!!!!!!!

They've got a lovely selection of food on the ground floor and although it is rather pricey the food is lovely and it's pretty-much the only 'upmarket' supermarket in Doncaster. One of these shops where the staff really do seem to be interested and care about helping you - my 5* rating is based on that more than anything else. I was looking for something in a different size recently, and rather than the usual 'everything we've got is out' that you get in most places, 2 people bent over backwards to find me something else suitable - you don't get that sort of attention every day!

I did find the checkout area to be a little tight, compact and messy, although the staff did seem pretty friendly. The Scan and Go app where the customer can use their phone to scan and bag their shopping as they shop around the store, and then pay, seemed to work well here. The staff around the store seemed friendly and helped me find a reusable bag when required. I do find the opening hours of the store to be very limited, especially considering, the branch is not located inside a physical shopping centre (It is located opposite the shopping mall), so the fact they close at 17:30 during the week is very disappointing, this is even earlier than Sainsbury's! The facilities inside the store are again limited compared to larger towns/cities, with no car parking or toilets. 3* - A nice store for a small town like Doncaster, yet not without its' flaws.
