Humiliated by Scottish security guard at Asda Lancaster !!!…read more Had a very unpleasant experience at Asda Lancaster 13/9/25 at 14.30. My partner's card payment at the self-checkout didn't go through because of a system glitch, but we thought it had as there was no alarm and no barrier stopping us. As soon as we were told, we went back in and paid the £44 immediately. Instead of handling it calmly, the Scottish security guard stopped us outside in front of everyone, speaking harshly and making us feel like criminals. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary, especially since we had already resolved the issue. For context: I work at an accounting firm and my partner is an NHS hospital audiologist -- we certainly don't need £44 of Asda shopping, and in five years of coming here we've never had a problem. Asda should train their staff to treat customers with respect, not embarrassment.

Buy anything from a Television, to a loaf of bread ! Very reasonable prices, and voted the best value supermarket for years in a row.

They generally have some local produce and some higher quality offerings than you would expect from a supermarket of this size. I often pop in on my way home from work as it's cheaper than the Spar but it's not as soul destroying as Asda or Morrisons. Good for picking up a decent bottle of wine and high quality fresh produce. the staff are always friendly as well which is a bonus. Last year I bought my free range turkey from there and it was worth every penny.
