I was in the one on Bayside drive Saint John NB. No one was interested in helping. I asked for a…read moredeal on a squire strat. Nope. The guy at the counter was rude. I will never go back. I saw a nrj luthier strat with a bad gap in the neck pocket they wanted 150 for it. It looked like a 5 year old put it together . So I go to the one in the north end. I talked to a girl there told her about it. She tells me that they have a luthier for that store. I repaired alot of guitars. He must be drunk all the time if he is letting that pass some of the guitars are badly dinged for the price they want for them. I might go to the store on north end but not to the base side one never. Hopefully I can get a deal no deal I don't buy.

I had a much different experience at Long & McQuade. I found the staff to be quite patient and…read moreknowledgeable. I spent weeks looking for that perfect guitar. The staff were always quite pleasant and hooked me up several times on their amps to test guitar after guitar, never pressuring me for a sale. After I had selected one, I price-compared it online and was unable to find the same guitar for a cheaper price. They assured me that, had I found it cheaper, they would match the price. Each time I have returned, they ask me how I'm making out with my new guitar. I have asked them about other instruments, that they don't typically carry and they took the time to see if they could bring it in for me. I think that speaks to the attention and care they put in to servicing their customers

4 piano lessons purchased for a childs birthday ended up costing a family 2 additional non approved…read moretransactions totaling an additional 174 dollars. The owner and zero accountability even though he spoke on phone to the credit card holder who told him to stop using the card after the 2nd transaction - then the owner left vm for me ( the mother) who called him back and told him again to stop using the card and to confirm when these 4 lessons are to begin since the payment was already taken out. He never called me back and therefore we didnt go. I was raised you dont just show up to a place, you wait to have the appointment confirmed. 2 weeks later the music teacher calls and informs us that we have lost 2 lessons for not showing up. After all this our son who is 12 asked the teacher if she still did private lessons at home as she had told us she did and then the owner threatened to confront my son who has Aspergers to tell him how wrong he was to ask that question. Even after I told him he is not to speak with my child and that my husband would be accompanying my son to his last piano lesson the owner said he would see my son and husband. Sounds like an unstable person and very shady business practices. From a wonderful birthday idea to a horrible experience, I would think twice before sending anyone you love to Dales Music.
