I had bookmarked this place to come to dinner sometime, and last night was that time! Recommend…read morereservations, but once again, we just showed up, and the manager says we could sit at the bar, that's our favorite place to sit anyway, in the middle of the sction Definitely appreciated the vibe here--classic rock playing in the background, not too loudly. Staff were welcoming and jovial, joking with us from the beginning. . Very lively fun atmosphere here. Capable of seating a group of 4-6 around tables if needed, We started with a Negroni and a gin and tonic, both made with Jenever. Our food orders were based on other Yelp reviews praising the rubs here: We ordered a normal spare ribs (pork) classic dry rub (comes with salad and two sauces (similar to ranch and thousand island) and a normal mixed. We ordered a baked potato on the side to share, which comes with garlic butter. They also brought plain bread slices on the side. The pork ribs were both tender and flavorful. My husband liked the classic dry rub better than the smoked. The salad was crispy thanks to celery slices. The garlic butter on the baked potato was creamy, strong, and addictive.. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. When we left, we asked the mamager where the sister bar was located exactly and he directed us across the street to Cafe GDG.the adventure continues! Highly recommend!

A normal full bar and friendly quick service. Our steak was done as requested (med. rare) and very tasty. Got the classic ribs and were dry rubbed so it was tasty and tender- on the drier side with little fat. Would have loved bbq sauce on the side instead of the white garlic sauce and the Thousand Island sauce (weird) . Enjoyed the baked potato and chopped salad with a sweet vinaigrette. Plain French bread slices accompanied meals- no butter. Outside seating available. Friendly service.

Three-stars, but almost 2 stars for the cooking, luckily the staff brought it up with the attention…read morethey gave and how well done the side of fries was and how delicious the orange juice was. The staff is very friendly and attentive and helped out when needed. Seeing how this is supposed to be a southern style themed USA restaurant, I figured my input would be good here... the restaurant is well decorated and I enjoyed the ambience. Although there was an electric guitar on the wall that seemed out of place, as they could have used a regular guitar, like what would actually be used in a southern US steakhouse, an electric guitar is not what should be used unless signed by somebody famous from the south US. The steak itself, they got my order of medium rare wrong at first and it came out rare. Advice to the cook, feel with the back of your fingers by pressing on the steak while it's on the grill if the steak is medium rare, should only be slightly mushy, not completely mushy as in the way it came out... for a medium rare. Do not feel right after you just flipped the steak, as it will be naturally harder because of the heat. The steak was a T-bone and it wasn't flavored with herbs, but that wasn't a big deal as it had decent flavor. The meat itself was too fatty and had too many fat streaks to be a southern style steak. Suggest using better quality meats, especially for the price as I can tell that it is the bargain steak (suggest finding an Angus dealer and using them, not frozen steaks for this price, kind of insulting). I probably asked, improperly, as my Dutch is not very good, if the vegetables on the side were grilled and they said yes they were, but when they came out, they were steamed, actually over steamed and slightly mushy... BTW again, I shouldn't have to order a side of veggies with my order, it should come with it, again for this price in the US, minus a few dollars, it comes with a side, a few you can choose from. ****Quit overcharging and add sides to the steaks as a standard order, especially when you don't buy the correct expensive steaks! Sides are not a "specialty item" that you can charge more for... Advice to the cook, the vegetables should be crunchy, not slightly mushy. Also to the cook, try grilling the veggies for a more authentic American flavor and add some butter and mild salt to the grilled veggies. The cook will decide if this restaurant in the long run will survive, so the cook needs to study more and I hope my suggestions will help if they ever see them. Cheers, it isn't a bad restaurant, just not as good as the price suggests... Either change things and make sure things are cooked properly or find another living as just a bar.
