The minor league baseball team for the Anaheim Angels, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, took on the minor league team for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Over 80 family members and friends joined me, and we all had a BLAST!! We ate/drank, laughed, watched an entertaining baseball game, caught a couple of foul balls, took pics with the ballplayers and the team mascots, and truly enjoyed our time together. The venue is such an awesome stadium: every seat has a great view of the field, the seats are comfortable, and the restrooms and snack bars are conveniently located. Admission tickets are $15.00 per ticket, and parking is only $6.00 per vehicle. Thank you to Matthew Marquez (Quakes Group Sales Manager) for handling every single detail of our group's visit. Matt was very professional, friendly, helpful, and made sure that every single person in our group enjoyed their visit to this ballpark. I have spent the last ten birthdays here with family and friends, and this visit was the best one yet. Thank you, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

However, the culture of the staff is absolutely different in a bad way. Typically, giveaways with the 66ers in San Bernardino were plentiful and joyous. Not here! I arrived for a Rancho Jersey giveaway and the staff stopped passing out jerseys after a few minutes after the gates opened. There were loads of fans who didn't receive a giveaway item. Meanwhile, staff stored boxes of jerseys away, I saw a dude take some to the back! What?! I absolutely hate when staff store things for themselves. It felt more like a slap in the face when they started distributing tons of rally towels instead of the jerseys. This was planned, this team's front office are cheap penny-pinchers. I arrived early before the game, I know how these events work. This was one of the worst sporting experiences I've encountered. Staff were standoffish and condescending when we asked them what their deal was? I was polite and professional, I don't like these Rancho Karens one bit. At this point, this is a betrayal to the Angels brand. I never have this happen at a major league game. Yes, I know resources vary but this is rude customer service. Only Tremor and Aftershock were chill, this team needs to cool it. I won't be coming here till people fix this mess. Our last disappointment came at the end of the game night when we sat and waited for the fireworks :(. Come to find out Quakes stadium only does fireworks on Saturday nights not Friday. Now I can't find anywhere with straight forward public pay-for swimming, and it doesn't help that the lists are full of places that have no reason to be on such a list, unless the goal is a devious one meant to screw with the heads of people like me. I have neighbors with pools, but I honestly don't like the idea of using anyone's pool that I'm neighbors with. Just don't feel comfortable with it, and I could try to explain why, but it's a personal thing that makes sense to me, and perhaps might or might not to you. When we arrived, there was an adult league event happening in the same space--and the environment was completely out of control. Grown adults visibly drunk... falling on the floor, asking people to take shots, passed out in public areas, vomiting in the bathrooms. And I literally saw the bartender pouring Hennessy shots and continuing to serve them--they were never cut off. Why the f*** is this happening at a Perfect Game tournament?! And then it got worse... We walked into the women's bathroom and there was a grown man in a stall with a woman--her panties down to her ankles. This is a youth event. Kids are walking in and out of these spaces. What if little girls had walked into that bathroom?! There was no separation. No control. No supervision. On top of that, families traveled, kids barely slept, and the next morning the games were canceled because no one was even attending to the fields. I'm low key embarrassed for the teams that came from out of state to experience this. This isn't just unprofessional--it's unsafe and completely unacceptable.

The bottom line is that it's overpriced for what it is. It is not a large space. It's actually the smallest children's museum we've visited, yet it is the most expensive at $15 per child and $16 per adult. It cost almost $50 for me and my two kids. Why are the prices so hefty, and why are adults charged at all? 2. No re-entry. Again, why? For the price, we should be able to leave for a bit to eat and come back. I cannot think of a justifiable reason for this policy. 3. The enforcement of arbitrary rules. Several times during our visit, the employees would come on the loudspeaker reminding parents that all children needed to be accompanied at all times. That makes perfect sense for toddlers and babies. But my kids are 5 and 9. My well behaved 9 year old should be allowed to explore and take her time in a station without me hovering over her. This is a safe place designed for children, so why are they not allowed to roam and explore like they can at other children's museums? If it's a safety concern of making sure they don't get kidnapped or leave the premises, then install a gate and check-out system. It would be quite easy since there are employees just standing at the front desk the entire time anyway. They also have an open staircase right there that seems hazardous to little ones, so a gate would make the most sense. There are far too many other incredible children's museums in Southern California (Kidspace in Pasadena, Yorba Linda Children's Museum, the Discovery Cube, etc) that blow Second Story out of the water and are more appropriately priced.
