Look, there comes a time when you just need some spicy wings, late at night, ideally at a bargain basement price. (In my normal life I toe the whole free-range, bird welfare line conscientiously, but these are moments of weakness I'm talking about). So anyway, I find said wings are best savoured from a paper bag, walking up Camberwell Grove late at night. Something about juxtaposition perhaps? You can of course sit in and eat at Morleys, if you have nowhere better to be. I have actually done this, and ended up deep in conversation with some Ugandan coffee dudes, who I think were trying to involve me in some kind of business venture. I got a free sample out of them, anyway. Haven't tried it yet.
On one of these late-night chicken runs, my girlfriend once went down the more established KFC route, but having been charged more and been left less satisfied, she conceded that she had, in her own words, "done a wrong 'un". As for Chicken Coop, well, I've never tried Chicken Coop. I mean, it's called "Chicken Coop"!! (Not "Co-op", which some people actually have thought). I'm a Morleys man.
