Checking in for Grace-Ann's 1st set of braces!!!
Iona K.

Love them! They were so good with my daughter's first time having braces. Walked us both through every step, had a payment plan and many options. Clean office. Great COVID procedure.

Recognized in the field of orthodontist.

Getting retainers and braces is a bitch! Seriously I have difficulty breathing, eating, and swallowing. Plus, nobody told me before I put these things on how time consuming brushing and flossing will become. To think I have to wear this for 1 1/2 years- oh no!! What makes this a better experience is when you have a great team working on your teeth! The staff here are all very nice, professional, and patient. I almost fainted because I couldn't breathe when putting the railroad tracks on and the person working on my teeth was so understanding. I get clausterphobic so when I was having a "moment" she didn't treat like a crazy person. Also, braces and retainers are quite expensive. The office is willing to do what they can to help you afford to make straight teeth a reality. My husband first came to Dr. Morita to fix his teeth. He did not maintain his previous high school brace job and needed to some fixes. Dr. Morita was highly recommended by my regular dentist. We were so happy with his experience I decided to straighten my teeth too. As for me, I always wanted braces growing up and the weird thing is I didn't even have braces worthy teeth. They were quite straight. Not only that, the bottom line was that my family couldn't afford them even if I wanted them. As I aged, my bottom teeth moved and now they are now a crooked mess. Thus the reason for getting braces at a ripe old age of 36!

Thank you Dr. Morita and staff! You guys are the best orthodontic practice!

Since his retirement in 2024, I can tell you to avoid this establishment. Customer service is severely lacking and to the point this practice is negligent. My two older children saw Dr kamisugi years ago and that experience matches the reviews here. My youngest was unfortunate enough to experience the new practice, and I would highly suggest you look elsewhere. I have left messages asking to schedule an appointment for my child who is still wearing braces. No one calls back. It was five months between visits and having no one return calls. FIVE MONTHS. The receptionist didn't apologize. She said "We are very busy!" So I would suggest going elsewhere because they may not schedule your child when you request an appointment because they're "so busy". You may want to find a practice that has time for your child and can apologize when they have made a mistake. TLDR: DO NOT GO HERE! They will take your money and will not return calls to schedule follow up appointments. Their contract states they will provide a service and they do not provide it. Go elsewhere!!!

I was a little late to my appt, but they were understanding. On top of that, I was the last appt of the day, but they still saw me. The office is very clean and has a professional atmosphere. I first was greeted by the dental assistant. I forgot her name, but she was a pretty Asian young woman. She was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about me as a patient and a person. She explained to me that she would take some photos of my smile and my teeth. My first impression, wow, she's a great photographer. Haha she knew exactly what she was doing and which area of the mouth she wanted to take pictures of. She gave good and thorough explanations of the photos she would take. She just made me feel so comfortable. Patients or myself anyway, like to be told what they are doing and what to expect. She did a great job. We also had small talk and she genuinely was friendly. She also assisted Dr. Kika when it was time to take notes about my teeth. Dr. Kika, who is Dr. Scott's daughter worked on me. At this orthodontic office, they are VERY thorough. Wow, there is a lot that goes into making a plan for the patient. You can tell off the bat, Dr. Kika is very smart and has been doing this a while. While she's examining my teeth, she is already thinking of what I will need as my individualized teeth care/plan. She too is very pretty and friendly. Dr. Kika treated me with so much care and was also so genuine. After the physical exam, we moved into her office to discuss the plan and any questions I had. She thoroughly educated me about my teeth, the movement of teeth, the options, the reasons for doing things this way or another. She really spent time to hear my concerns and she was honest with me. Helping to advocate for the best plan that would work for me. Once we decided that I might be interested, the lovely dental assistant came back to go over cost with me, the breakdown and my insurance coverage. As I was leaving, Dr. Scott came out to talk story with me and thank me for coming by. Also very friendly and genuine. He truly cared to get to know me. Ultimately my personal choice was to hold off on getting braces. But they were so understanding knowing that it's a huge commitment in many ways besides just cost, it's a lifestyle change. But if I decide I want to pursue Invisalign again, I'd 100% return to Masunaga's. I found them on yelp and I'm so glad I got to meet them. I would highly recommend them for any of your orthodontic needs. They are located on the top floor of Pearlridge mall. Near Macy's third level, but drive to the opposite end of that same parking lot. I was already planning to commit, but didn't feel any type of genuine connection as a patient/client on behalf of the sales team. I did sign. But, having committed to spending thousands of dollars you would think that they would have set me up for success.. only to find out the day I get fitted for my retainers, "Oh, we don't have the digital monitoring attachment for iPhone 17 pro max. We will call you to pick that up when we get the attachment...." Like, shouldn't you have asked what kind of phone I had before? They said the attachment would come in a week, and they would give me a call when it becomes available so I can pick it up. I waited a week.. a month... I am now on week 13 out of 26 and they send me a text asking why I haven't started my digital monitoring...? OH, with the attachment that you never bothered to call me to pick up? Um, hello... I was waiting for a call back. If that wasn't bad enough.. They sent me a "referral" by text message to get my wisdom teeth removed.. I was very nervous to do the removal, and if my nerves weren't already firing, I found out the day of surgery that Holiday Orthodontics Pearl City never even sent a referral stating which teeth should be removed, or anything at all for that matter. Super unprofessional. Super irritating. Super offended as a customer who trusted them with my smile. I am happy with the results of my retainers, but wish I could have filled the pockets of an Orthodontist that actually cares about their patients. Now I'm stuck making installments to these guys. Unreal.

I dont really give out reviews unless I find it necessary. That said, I only do so when it's bad service. When I told them it felt off, the doctor fixed it on the OPPOSITE side of where I told them, which wouldn't be a problem, but when they fixed it on the right side, it added up so ultimately it still had the same issue. Not only that, the person who was taking care of me [i didn't get her name] pinched my lip pretty hard between the braces wire and the brackets. When I reacted the first time, it hurt pretty bad. I was still a little worried when she did it again, because she pinched it a few times and it stung a bit while she put it on, I flinched. She seemed kind of annoyed at that. I felt uncared for and like they didn't care about my comfort and needs. Now I look at it, it's really uncomfortable to "rest" my mouth to look normal, and when I actually rest it the "build up" is what they called it, forces my mouth to look crooked due to uneven amounts on each side. It's slightly unclear in the photos, but it's more clear if I had gotten them from the same angle. Other than that normally it's better service, so hopefully it'll get better again with time with this new doctor, but I'm not a fan of it so far.

BEST VENEERS EXPERIENCE…read more Dr. Keileen Fukada and Premier Dental Group helped me close a gap between my top front teeth. The experience was surprisingly comforting and I felt at ease working with Dr. Fukada and the premier dental team. During my first visit, I was very nervous and scared because my teeth were going to be shaved down a bit. However, I was comforted by their professionalism and expertise on the matter. I was also having anxiety around which shade or shape would look best. Thankfully, Dr. Fukada helped me through this process with her expertise and experience. I left the dental office that day realizing I went with the right dental team for this veneer procedure because they were so comforting and I knew I could trust their decision making. Premier Dental provided me with temporary veneers for 3 weeks and they gave me the heads up that I may experience some tooth sensitivity because the dentin layer would be exposed. When I returned for the permanent veneers, I knew I was in the best hands possible and they got right to it. Something about Dr. Fukada is she's a master at numbing... no intense pain! They drilled a bit to create a bonding surface and then bonded the veneers to my teeth. Based on my experience, I've come to realize the veneers process is very complex and can get confusing at times. Fortunately, Dr. Fukada and the Premier Dental team were very experienced and caring. I knew I could trust them and I knew they had my best interest in mind! I recommend Dr. Fukada and Premier Dental Group for cosmetic dentistry. ZERO REGRETS! (See photo below)

On my very first visit, my teeth were shaved down without a proper consultation, preview, or discussion of the design plan. There was no wax-up, no mock-up, and no real chance to pick a shade or shape. I was rushed through the procedure without being fully informed of the risks or how much of my healthy enamel would be removed. I then had to live with fragile temporary veneers for three weeks, experiencing tooth sensitivity, anxiety, weight loss, and regret. When I came back for the permanent veneers, they were completely wrong: yellow, wide, and unnatural. I was numbed and drilled before even seeing them, then expected to approve them on the spot. When I rejected them, the doctor only offered to remake them "one shade whiter and a little longer/skinnier," but again gave me no preview, no reference pictures, no tools to confirm the plan, and sent me home still scared and confused for another two weeks. After I strongly insisted, I was finally sent to the lab to pick a custom shade. The lab technicians were far more caring and helped me select a color from a completely different shade guide, far better than anything the doctor had suggested. It shocked me that if I hadn't complained repeatedly, I would have ended up with another failed set of veneers. Dr. Fukada even told me mock-ups are only for "full mouth" cases -- that is unfair and unacceptable. I don't understand how a dentist could disregard a patient's wishes so completely and strip away their right to make informed decisions. This process has left me with weeks of mental stress, tooth pain, regret, and a huge loss of trust. I cannot recommend Premier Dental Group Aiea for cosmetic dentistry, and I hope they seriously improve their patient communication and ethics.

I switched over to this dental office about a year ago because of their ability to schedule exams and cleanings on the same day. In addition, for emergency cases, they can take you in pretty quick. Myself, my husband, and our oldest daughter all attend this office. Staff here is very friendly and outgoing. Doctors are great and have always able to assist us with different needs. I will say that most of my interactions are with Tina who sometimes is checking me in, or also there are to assist with any services that I have. Recently, I experienced a dental nightmare that put me in the ER twice in one week and ultimately I was sent to a specialist to get a root canal performed. After I got my root canal done in December the same tooth cracked before the new year started, and I went back to this office. When I got in touch with Tina about my cracked tooth, she was able to fit me in, and I was so worried that they were going to extract my tooth. This was the day that I met Dr. Chang! He assured me that he would be able to save my tooth, and that he did! His superpower is his kind heart and easy-going attitude. He communicated with me every step of the way about the process and what needed to be done. That day he added a temporary crown, and I did return a few weeks later for the permanent crown. I am truly thankful for his knowledge and skills. I love the customer care that I receive, the cleanliness of the office, and the speed of getting services done. I believe that Tina and Dr. Chang are true assets to the company just by being themselves. Patient care comes first for them and their only goal is to make sure we aren't in pain or uncomfortable. The dentist fixed a filling that I'd had done the year before. Both the dentists and dental hygienists were great. I tried to get retainers done here which resulted in repeatedly having to drive out there, I believe i had around 7 appointments there for this (possibly more). Apparently they'd switched companies and I was repeatedly given retainers that did not fit. Some of them which I wish I had photos to share were so poorly done it cut off half way through some of my teeth, others if I put it in on one side it would pop out on the other side. After repeating having them redone I requested a refund. The billing office refused to refund me until I brought it up with the dentist who was able to get me a refund. In oct they called me and said my insurance wouldn't pay for my dental care because there was a secondary insurance which I told them they need to take my health insurance down. They refused and told me to call which I did. I called my insurance who stated they would need to include my health insurance. I spent 30 minutes + on the phone having to facilitate this. When I did this person at the dental office I spoke to said they didnt have the address to send it to which I told them they could get online. They would not do this so while we were on the phone I Google searched and gave her the address and canceled my next appointment. In January I received a voicemail and invoice for all the dental care over the past year saying its still not paid for. I dont see any billing requests from them on my health insurance portal so no idea if they sent that or not. Highly recommend you go elsewhere to avoid wasting so much time and energy. Updates: I called my dental insurance on 1/9/26 and they said they couldn't pay yet as the dental office still had not filed with my primary insurance.
