Curtis Kamisugi is no longer the orthodontist here. Before his retirement, I would have highly recommended this orthodontic practice. Since his retirement in 2024, I can tell you to avoid this establishment. Customer service is severely lacking and to the point this practice is negligent. My two older children saw Dr kamisugi years ago and that experience matches the reviews here. My youngest was unfortunate enough to experience the new practice, and I would highly suggest you look elsewhere. I have left messages asking to schedule an appointment for my child who is still wearing braces. No one calls back. It was five months between visits and having no one return calls. FIVE MONTHS. The receptionist didn't apologize. She said "We are very busy!" So I would suggest going elsewhere because they may not schedule your child when you request an appointment because they're "so busy". You may want to find a practice that has time for your child and can apologize when they have made a mistake. TLDR: DO NOT GO HERE! They will take your money and will not return calls to schedule follow up appointments. Their contract states they will provide a service and they do not provide it. Go elsewhere!!! read more

Very friendly, caring and helpful staff, if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. Office is very clean and comfortable. They even have a website and send after visit reviews for you to let them now how they are doing or if there is anything they can improve on. We've been through many years of orthodontics with our family. If you are looking for an orthodontist for your child I would highly recommend Dr. Burt Kawamoto and staff! Located in the old BOH building on the 5th floor, behind Big City Diner in Aiea. read more

The best orthodontist ever! I saw him when I was in middle school for braces and then retainers in high school at his Punahou location. But over the years, that location is now closed, but his Mililani and Aiea locations are still available. I went to the Aiea office and it is easy to find. It's the medical building next to Big City Diner - close to where Toys R Us was and Down to Earth. I came back to see him because I noticed open spaces between my teeth. The open spaces are huge, but I grew self-conscious of it. I was went to my dentist and he said that Dr. Kamisugi was still working!! I was very surprised!! I thought he was retired or handed the company to another person. But I am so glad he was there!! It was nice to see him and talk story with him for a little while. Back to the review... He ordered another retainer and plan to make adjustments so the open spaces won't return. Fingers crossed!! I must say, it felt weird being in a room filled with young children with their parents. I truly believe that they are in excellent hands with Dr. Kamisugi and his staff. They are polite, knowledgeable, and kind to the patients. read more

We have 4 kids in treatment, 2 in braces and 2 prepping for them and we feel so fortunate to have found Dr Kamisugi's office. We tried out 4 different orthos and finally went with this office. They have several offices to make visits convenient. The aiea office is very modern and busy with lots of parking. The miliani office is kind of small, but there is also plenty of parking and its really close to my house. I could rave for paragraphs about the service and staff here. They are so accommodating with appointments, they check up on us, are always available for broken brackets or pokey wires, the financing is helped us with plenty of options, the staff....THE STAFF!! They are what makes this place a stand out! Including Dr K. He is invested in his clients and always makes us feel like we (and all of his clients so far as I have seen) are valuable and indispensable. I just love this place, they also offer rewards for referrals so tell your friends and you'll be happy you did! I literally have nothing bad to say about this business, you cannot go wrong! read more

Braces or a Tooth Implant? Braces or a Tooth Implant? As for me, these were my two options after getting a few of my teeth pulled out not too long ago by my regular Dentist and either or had to be done because I would be looking like a Jack o Lantern if that was the case. After looking at my options, I couldn't believe how expensive it was to get a Tooth Implant for just a single tooth. If I could've stuck a marshmallow in that gap in my mouth to make it look better I would've opted for it, but that just ain't happening so I had to weigh my options and I was highly recommended by my Dentist to get an opinion from Dr Kamisugi who happens to have a very good reputation considering the Kamisugi name in the Dental Industry is well known by many patients that I have consulted with. What I truly liked about meeting Dr Kamisugi for the first time was how nice and down to earth he really is. He was very considerate and caring about my dental situation that he took the time to listen and understand where I was coming from. I love the fact that they come to Mililani once a week so it's right down the road from me and they also have an office in the Pali Momi area twice a week so I don't have to go to the Ala Moana location at all. Now I have to say that getting Braces does not come cheap and does come with a hefty price tag, but they have many payment options to choose from and that made it a little easier in making a decision to get braces or not. That was pretty much the deciding factor for me in me making a lifestyle change for years to come. Well the big day came and I was still wavering on what I was going to do and as i stepped foot into Dr Kamisugi's Office in Pali Momi, they gave me a Disclosure to read and once I signed it I was pretty much blinded to get this procedure done so before signing anything I wanted to get one more opinion from Dr Kamisugi and I asked him if getting braces will close this space that i had between my teeth and he said since it was just extracted that it wouldn't be a problem getting that space filled and right then and there I signed my life away and let them get to work on me. What can I say about the staff here at Dr Kamisugi's Office? They are first class and very friendly just like Dr Kamisugi is. From meeting Derrah from my first consultation in Miliani to the receptionist at the Pali Momi Office, sorry I forgot your name to Colleen who went over my payment options to me, they were simply amazing. But if there is someone who I give big thanks to is the Assistant who made me feel at ease and prepped me up before Dr Kamisugi put on the finishing touches who's name I believe is Se'e? If I got your name wrong please forgive me. She was a Polynesian looking lady who kept me at ease and made this process so relaxing and less stressful. She is definitely a professional at what she does. She was seamless every step of the way with me and I truly appreciate that. Also I also wanna commend Sue who treated me a week later. Once again, Sue was very pleasant and was really funny as we talked about many things in that short time. Let's just say that this island is too damn small and it's amazing how everyone knows someone from somebody and that's the beauty of me being in the Food and Beverage Industry. I do have to say this about getting Braces. It is definitely a life changing experience and its expected. It's on,y been a few weeks since I got Braces put on and being the voracious eater and food lover that I am, let's just say that's it's very humbling for me and an experience that I will never forget, but in the long run a beautiful smile will last a lifetime and your confidence level will be at an all time high when you have straight teeth and when you deal with hotel guests each and every day like I do, it's priceless. In ending, I just want to say if you are looking for an amazing Orthodontist who really cares about his patients, I highly recommend Dr Curtis Kamisugi and I promise you that he will make you feel at ease and a smile that will last forever... read more

What?! My kid needs braces? Nooo! Full mouth of metal sure is expensive! Our family dentist referred us to Dr. Kamisugi which is great because it's close to home. Parking is good here, lots of stalls & it's also covered & right outside the building. The office is nice & clean. There's a really nice fish tank built into the wall. Check in is easy. The computer reads your fingerprint & greets you. Also tells you "Happy birthday!" if it's coming up. Our initial appointment and every appointment there after was great. Dr. Kamisugi is very nice, calm and explains everything from what happens from the beginning of treatment to the end. Every time we come in for adjustments he talks story with us & asks about what we'll be doing over school breaks, holidays, etc. Very personable, he really takes the time to know his patients. The staff are all great too, very friendly. It's all 5 star service, until we met Colleen (Or it might be Collette?). She goes over the pricing and payment plans. There are times that she's nice, then there are times that she's not. You can tell when she's faking her friendliness. I get that you need to be clear about payment and due dates, but she gives off this "better pay up" attitude as though i've been late on any. This attitude was unnecessary being that this was before any payment was ever made. After coming a couple times more, I still feel this vibe from her. I've never had this from any of the other ladies in the front. Maybe it's just her personality? They have reminder calls or texts. You can make an account on their website & make payments online, view upcoming appointments or update any of your information. l like how everything is modernized. read more

His office conveniently served us in the Central area. My daughter has been seeing Dr. Kamisugi since the 2nd grade. She just finished her treatment after 5 years. I can't tell you how pleased I am with her results! She now has a beautiful and golden smile! Dr. Kamisugi and his staff are such wonderful people! From day one I was impressed by how warm and delightful his personality is and his staff are just as caring as he is. They make you feel comfortable and treat you like family! I have had braces myself and worn it for many years way back in the '70's. Technology has come a long way in orthodontics. With that said, he and his staff explains and answers any questions completely and honestly. Gone is the cold and uncaring age of old orthodontics. Dr. Kamisugi, has 3 sister location both I assume are similar to each other. You will always see the same person at the front desk who will always greet you by name. Once you're escorted in, you are then worked on by one of Dr. Kamisugi's assistant. Whoever is working on you cares on how you feel; they ask you if you are okay and if you have any questions they do their best to answer them. Going on this information, you can tell that everyone who works there is making an effort to make you feel comfortable. If you late to an appointment they will let you in, but just don't go over 30 minutes. Dr. Kamisugi himself loves his job; he has been doing this for a very long time and shows no signs of stopping. He treats you like family and you can feel it with the atmosphere he created. In emergency's he is very responsive and makes it so you don't have to wait the next day. They also have this program where you can get rewards from, and by have your teeth clean with your braces on you are qualified to get a free movie ticket or a free smoothie, and that's not all. You will also get a cup of treats that is filled with food you can now eat. The only problem I have is with the appointments; because he has 3 locations it makes it had to schedule. If you can't make one of them you have to schedule far ahead to a location you can make it. Overall, I do recommend on having your teeth done here it is a professional place with a welcoming environment with great people. If you are questioning whether you should make an appointment here then I suggest you do it. read more

Everybody, including Dr. Kamisugi, was more than friendly and made each visit easygoing. Every time I had a check-up the staff worked so diligently that I felt like top priority. They were so kind and hard working that I had no worries about any of my visits.
