Avocado toast with over cooked eggs
Jordan S.

I had high expectations for this place based on how cutesy it was. I ordered avocado toast with over easy eggs and duck fat potatoes. The bread was seemingly toasted but cold and so incredibly thick. The eggs were also room temperature. One was over easy and one was fully cooked. The potatoes also came fresh from the kitchen with no heat, crisp, or flavor.

Pub burger, Philly burger and hand made chips.

Ordered the pub burger and the Philly burger and both were delicious. Service was prompt and the ambience adorable. Hand made chips were the perfect compliment.

Such a beautiful coffee house! I got the pulled pork sandwich and lavender lemonade which were so good! Service was also great! Highly recommend!!

My wife and 2yr old son were in the area looking at sheds and stopped in on a recommendation from one of the employees at Shed's Unlimited. The Coffee House occupies an older building on the corner of Twin Valley Road & RT 23. They have a parking lot in the rear with plenty of spaces. As you walk in you pass their outdoor seating area that has several picnic tables and plenty of room to relax. The interior of the building has a modern warm feel to it. All orders are placed at the front counter and if you order any food they will bring it out to your table. One thing we noticed right away was that the A/C could not keep up. Having said that it was over 90 outside. We placed our order: Pork Belly Eggs Benedict, Duck Fat Potatoes, Avocado Toast & Kids French Toast After placing our order we grabbed a table in the front room. There is another seating area towards the front of the building as well. After a short wait our food arrived. I was immediately impressed with the presentation of each dish. I really enjoyed the Eggs Benedict and Duck Fat fries. My wife said her Avocado Toast was really good as well. Overall I was very impressed with the food and didn't expect this level of culinary mastery in Morgantown. The prices do reflect the quality so if you are looking for a cheap breakfast this restaurant isn't for you. I think our total was around $47. I was totally fine with the prices as I knew the price level before we stopped in.

We love going here for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. They have great drinks and change their menu seasonally. Their food is always delicious!

A very cute establishment for breakfast/ brunch. We stopped by for a quick bite before driving home and were satisfied with the food provided. The coffee was good and the food was delicious. The stuffed french toast was on the sweeter side but was still very tasty. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely return if I'm in the area again.

Totally forgot how amazing their lattes are. About to get my second for the morning. Not sure if it's spring break around here or not, but there are a lot of families with small kids around, so bring some headphones if you come here to work. The latte's worth it, though.

It is also much larger inside than you would think until you are in the space. There is a ton is space and a ton of seating dotted around the raw wood and metal interior and it feels very inviting to sit and spend time, enjoy pastries with friends, or even sit and get some work done, as it is not loud, but a very nice version of quiet. Never getting too loud even when the crowd picks up a bit or lots of orders are popping. The coffee was delicious. Made perfectly and just how it should be. Espresso drinks too the list for me, but there were so many different choices, and they all looked outstanding. However, where The Farmhouse really shines is in the crazy good pastries. They are so light and fluffy, so perfectly flavorful. The fruit tart was possibly one of the best baked goods I've had in many years. The effort that is put into producing their treats is definitely felt, and I am not sure if they make everything in house, but it certainly feels like it. There are many places that have great pastries, but not many get the European-style light and airy style just right with a bazillion layers. This place is at the pinnacle of that baking game. If you are in the area in the first half of the day, you value a good pasty, good coffee, nice people and a nice space, you should definitely make you're way to the Farmhouse. If you are nearby it's definitely worth a trip and if I lived closer, I could easily see this being my daily go-to. You will not find a fruit tart this good very often, so don't pass by and get there now and enjoy!

The sandwiches were indeed the size of the palm of my hand (a woman who fits into a small/medium sized glove) and I did not find the bowls to be "oversized". My daughter's mini loungefly backpack can be seen next to the "oversized" bowl for comparison, with a typical sized keychain attached. I am an individual who enjoys eating at various establishments of all types (sans fast food chain establishments) and have no problem with paying higher prices for quality experiences. My personal experience stands that it was good, but not worth the cost. Had it been superior quality in comparison to other establishments and brands, I would have credited it as such. However- that being said, the customer service demonstrated through the review response demonstrates a lackluster quality in other parts of the business. As a leader/manager, especially one who deals in customer relations, one should consider feedback of all types in order to improve quality and future business performance. Hence I downgrade my review by a star and stand by my perspective that we will not be revisiting this establishment.

BLUF: Go check it out, you won't regret it…read more TLDR: OMG I'm so glad I stumbled upon this adorable coffee shop on cozy Main Street in North East, MD. It was just me, so I only got half a dozen donuts with a knife so I could taste them all! I tried: Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel, Maple Bacon, Toasted Coconut, Chai, and Fluffernuter. Let me start by saying the cake part of these donuts is just perfect. Not too dense, lightly crisp on the outside, and insanely fresh. The toppings might sound over the top, but they weren't. They were perfectly subtle to add a hint of flavor without a dose of diabetes. And the coffee- such unique lattes both in name and flavors. I went with Davy Joey's Locker with an extra shot of espresso. So good. Not overly sweet and not bitter at all. And then I just had to try the cute little pistachio cannoli. Shell was filled upon ordering, so the shell was nice and crispy. Now this was super sweet, but I haven't met a cannoli yet that wasn't! Barista was friendly & bubbly and patient when it took me some time to pick my 6 donuts. Basic tables and chairs with some bench seating along the window. Pillows & chairs could use a refresh, as well as the bathroom, looking a bit worn & dingy, but that's literally the only negative thing about this place.

Been here a couple times. Donuts were good. I was in the area and wanted to stop by. Unfortunately…read morethis place is closed down. No signs for any renovations or opening again.

However, the main reason I find myself continually coming back to Fireside is simply to enjoy the impeccable outdoor furnishings and the creative, cozy nature-inspired interior space. Whether I'm plugging away at work, meeting friends, grabbing a quick bite to eat, or simply having me-time, there's a number of comfortable seating sections to choose from. Check out the pictures below. The service is overall decent; the staff greeting and hospitality can use some improvement, and the staff knowledge should be more consistent. On a more recent trip, I realized I came on a day that Skip's chicken sandwiches were being sold - hooray (available Thurs-Sat only)! This sandwich has been on my bucket list since I started coming to Fireside months ago, and it was surprisingly better than I expected, considering its coffee shop food. I ordered the sandwich with "some heat". The chicken was juicy and perfectly fried with a well-seasoned coating on top of a bed of creamy slaw and thick pickle slices, all on a nicely toasted brioche bun. It came with a sweet-chili-mayo "Comeback" sauce which I asked for on the side. The Comeback sauce was a good accompaniment to the sandwich, but it was missing a little something, and the bun could have been thicker to hold the chicken from sliding out; overall, I highly recommend trying the juicy chicken sandwich from Fireside and checking out the neat spot! Also, try their Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso....better than Starbucks! Cheerrs!

Seemed nice enough, but the off vibe was detected immediately upon entering the empty lobby. The hostess appeared after a few minutes and told us there would be a ten minute wait. It made no sense when ten minutes later we were led to a table at the back of the nearly empty dining room. Right next to a table occupied by a large family. A 6 or 7 year old boy was flinging his jacket in the air trying to land it on one of the beams. The adults seemed to think his efforts were in vain and were ignoring him, so two more joined in the fun. The hostess had already abandoned us. Not wanting that jacket to land on my dinner, I looked at my partner and loudly said " Hell no". A waiter caught my eye and waved us to another table. It was five or ten more minutes before the other server showed up. Partner went with a cheesesteak and I ordered the turkey and Brie. After waiting 20 minutes , I start counting. Besides us and the large family, there were two tables getting their take out containers and us three waiting for food. Seemed like a light load for two servers, a hostess and busser. The wait for the table and easy food orders seemed a bit much. So more than half hour after ordering, our food arrives. Partner said his cheesesteak was surprisingly good. Neither of us like the old bay on the chips. My fries were okay. The turkey was the funky deli kind with a rind. The edges, got a little dried out. On the grill or under the hot light. Either way not a good thing.
