The campground is famous for its sold out annual Bluegrass festival yet it is gaining attention for its powwow events. It was very easy to find the campground. We went to the Five River Campgrounds for the Third Annual Powwow in Parsons in June 2025. It was the most meaningful pow wow I ever experienced. The owners of the campground (Joyce & John) gave the sales of the tickets to the powwow to the MMIW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women) Memorial Grove. The non profit organization is involved in promoting awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Some of the performers gave their earnings to MMIW Memorial Grove as well. The Five Rivers Campgrounds owners welcomed us with open arms and immediately noticed us as photographers. We do a lot of philanthropic work in photography yet we rarely get noticed or thanked by many people for it. The owners of the campground were selling tee shirts and stickers with our photography. We had given permission to have our photography used to the performer we have taken the photo of and we were happy to see that he & the owners of the campground were displaying our photography on tee shirts and stickers in the campground shop. The campgrounds are beautiful with views of the mountain. Immediately staff helped us park and alerted us of the speed limit on the campgrounds. The powwow was held outdoors and there was an open air arena with a roof to provide shade. The stage in the venue had a shelter and a good view. You had to provide your own seating, yet we knew that beforehand. The fee for the pow wow was $10 for two days, and we captured the most memorable and beautiful photos we ever took on those days of performers in regalia against green foliage and the mountains. The powwow was small yet the amazing camaraderie and performers were unforgettable. This was one of the finest powwow venues in ambiance, performance, connections, and professionalism we ever experienced.

We were assigned campsite 41D, but because the road to that campsite was too bumpy and damaging for our car (normal sedan), we switched to another campsite (36D). The sites are not too close to each other. The area for the tents was boxed and raised. The campsites have a picnic table and a fire pit made of rocks. Our site also had a small bathroom near it, but I didn't check it out since the shower house was so close. I was so surprised when I walked into their shower house. I was prepared to be grossed out and see bugs everywhere and freeze my butt off after showering, but it was the completely opposite! It was so clean, new, and also heated. It was like you're not even camping! There are four shower stalls and two toilet stalls. Plus, they have a hand drier, which I used as a hair dryer too. I think the main office closes at 7pm. We showed up a little later. There is a mailbox next to the office to pick up your reservation envelope. The campground also has a pond and a playground. It's $32/night for a double pad tent site of $22/night for a single pad. If I ever do another overnight bouldering trip at Coopers, I'd stay here again.

We never, in our month long stay had any problems finding her if we needed too. She was always super friendly and very helpful. The campground itself is well kept. We had a bad storm come in the middle of the night that blew all kinds of trees down. No RV's were hurt, thank goodness. The owners, other campers, and the couple that work the office were all out cleaning up the campground right away. As to the bathrooms, I can't comment, as they were still closed for the winter. Water pressure was fine. Propane was reasonably priced. All in all, we would come back in a heartbeat, and enjoyed our time there.

Secondly there is no water pressure. Thirdly, the restroom and shower houses are so filthy. In the mornings it smells like sewer everywhere. Lastly, to get there it is way off the highway and you have to take this very skinny road with curves and steep hills to get there. Okay for the nice parts... beautiful wooded sites, huge heated pool, quiet and peaceful there. The Wi-Fi only works at the main office and they didn't even give us a password for it. We got no campground park map either. The website is awful and needs to be updated. Needless to say we won't be back.

5 stars for the great and fun experience with the family, but 4 stars for the cabin we stayed in…read more Cabin - we stayed in Cabin 413. It has two bedrooms and each has two bunk beds. The size of the bunk beds were great! Mattress itself wasn't terrible, but wasn't comfy either (not a big deal at all). Each bedroom has one bathroom and shower. The sink is directly across from the bunk beds but the weird thing is that there used to be towel bar holders there - so no places to hang your wash clothes, hand towels etc. The kitchen is nice and has a gas stove, but this did not come with a stove light and fan. Another thing to note is that the deadbolt to the front door had no deadbolt - there was no bolt hub or bolt extension it was honestly the bolt face plate and thumb turn. Good thing the door knob locked with no issues The water park has 4 slides, a pirate water park, 2 pools(one pool had 2 basketball hoops) and arcade. Honestly I wouldn't waste the money in the arcade, but the water park and pools were great! The pool and water park were open from 1100-1900, we got there right when it opened and managed to have 4 lounge pool chairs. Definitely get there when it opens because as it gets later in the day it fills up quick! There were people laying in the grass because all the seats and tables were taken. The food was excellent! We got 20 wings, cheesesteak, grilled cheese, BLT, fries all around $40. The remainder of the time we spent there we cooked our food in the cabin kitchen and outdoor grill. I would recommend renting a golf cart. It's just easier to get around. We took the golf cart to a tractor ride, the playground right near the gate, mini golf, the ice cream shop, and overall was fun to just drive around and explore the campground. This was honestly the perfect small close getaway before the kids went back to school. Definitely enjoyed our stay here and will be back in the future - was heartbroken to see the damage that jellystone had due to the storm.

They said they wouldn't open the snow tubing because it was gonna rain but there was not a cloud in the sky that day. The spots are nice and so was the staff. The restaurant was apparently only open on weekends and when it was the weekend we ordered a pizza and it was burnt. There was fun Easter activities to do while we went such as, candy bar bingo, cookie decorating, and Easter egg hunt. This place would probably have been a 4.5 if anything was open and the food wasn't burnt. Overall I would say go here during the summer to have the best possible experience.
