Worst lawyers ever. My mom had a personal injury case. I shopped around for lawyers, as I work for a law firm before. The first thing I asked each and every lawyer we interviewed if the fee was 33% the lawyer from Morey and Upton said yes. When it came time to settle they changed it to 40%. The old bait-and-switch these guys are scumbags and I would never go with them they are not trustworthy. It also took them two and a half years to get a small judgment should have never went with these guys. If you're reading this I would stay away and find another Law Firm read more

When I got in my car accident I was 8 months pregnant. A woman backed her 98 expedition up on top of my Toyota Camry. Obviously her wrong doing. After that I went to the hospital where I started having contractions and had to be admitted for observation. I ended up being discharged. My son was breeched so I had previously scheduled to turn my baby with my OB. After the accident I was advised not to so I don't put anymore stress on the baby. So I had to have a c section because of it. My car was valued at 12 thousand less than what it was before the accident. After all that, my lawyer misty was only able to get me 5,000 with my settlement and said if she continued the case I would most likely get less. So I took that amount. My lawyer didn't contact me for 4 months after the accident and never sent me to see their doctors. The only reason I got in Contact was because I continued to call and leave voicemails since she was never at her desk. It was a pain to get a call back or an answer. My Husband was in a horrible accident last year on his way to meet me at my son's school on a Friday for his Year End Summer Carnival when he was T-boned on his driver's side by a medium sized truck who ran a red light. What was supposed to have been a Fun filled day and start to a fun weekend with my family turned into the worst day ever! He had to be rescued from the car by firefighters who used the jaws of life to get him out of the wreckage. I'm a small business owner who was referred to Morey & Upton because I was involved in an accident where my brand new Honda was totaled and I suffered severe injuries to my spine. I was recently paid my out of pocket expenses thru the insurance company and they let me know that things were already settled and I was supposed to receive a 1/3 to cover everything I lost during the accident such as work, pain, etc. They settled and left me out of the loop. I had a horrible case manager by the name of Nimsi De La Cruz who has never returned my calls since April. Voicemail after voicemail after voicemail. Which means Morey & Upton is keeping something away from me. Very sad and disappointed that they seemed like great people in the intake and deceived me and others. Beware! I definitely cannot recommend Morey and Upton. They took my case in August 2013 and closed it September 2015. I was rear-ended by another vehicle so this was supposed to be an easy case; it wasn't. Lorraine was in charge of my case towards the end, and she's a nice lady. Unfortunately when it came to my case, it seemed like nether she, nor the lawyer had any real leverage to solve the case in our favor. In the end, it took over 2 years for me to receive a check for under $1990.00 The case ended up closing for $8k but most of it went to the doctor, then the lawyer got his share and I got the leftovers!! It got funny in the end because Morey and Upton was charging me an additional $50 for some legal maneuver that I'd think was included in the attorney fees, it wasn't. I told Lorraine to talk to the lawyer and waive this $50 fee since my financial situation is so horrible, she talked to the attorney and he declined. Really? This is how Morey and Upton got $50 more then I did when my case settled. Think about the above real-life situation and act accordingly!!! read more

My accident occurred in June of 2012. The chiropractor I was going to referred me to this law office. I was passed around from case manager to case manager and never in the 2 and a half years I dealt with them, was able to speak to an attorney. I was rear ended by a cable company truck and had many physical issues which they claimed were soft tissue problems and therefore not very valuable. In the end, I got very little money. The doctors and attorneys were well paid. I would have been better off just going through my own insurance company. In the years I dealt with this firm, I had lots of problems getting in touch with anyone. I was almost always told my case manager of the day was in a meeting and could not be reached. They would rarely call back. What I was told I would receive was far less than what I was eventually got. This was a very unsatisfactory experience. I hope others have a better experience than I did, but I can only report on my personal experience. read more
