It's been so long since those three elements simultaneously meshed that I 'd almost lost all hope I'd ever find that again in a dining experience. Mrs. Shirley greets you like an old friend. The lunch menu is elevated yet not over the top. The hot honey chicken sandwich I had , topped with two bacon strips and homemade pimento cheese, was the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten. It came with a small side of crispy fries for $18. And my wife ordered a steak wedge salad that was unbelievable delicious. The cocktails are extremely pricey at $18. But if you want a memorable lunch experience, this is the place. It's now our once a month lunch rotation.

We ate dinner here our first night staying at the Hotel Toussaint. I ordered the stuffed soft shell crab with corn maque choux. I loved this dish - crispy soft shelled crab, FULLY stuffed, and they did not skimp on the lump crab meat! I even enjoyed the corn maque choux, which is not usually my favorite, but this one still had the sweetness of the corn and all the flavors, yet wasn't overly spicy. Just perfect! My friend ordered the chicken with mushrooms and horseradish potatoes and absolutely loved every bit of it! We returned for breakfast the next morning (complimentary continental with our stay at the Hotel Toussaint), and we decided to order just one of our complimentary breakfasts (croissant, apple strudel/tart, strawberry jam, butter, and fresh fruit) and then order a Southern Breakfast (bacon, eggs, cheese grits, and a biscuit). We then split both plates so we could try everything! All of the food was delicious, as to be expected, but the cheese grits were the star of the show! They were the right texture, were seasoned well, and were topped with melted cheese. Yum! We visited the St Francisville Inn again later in the day to go to the spa for pedicures. The spa is upstairs and is serene and relaxing. Our pedicures were well done. They also offer facials and massages, but we didn't schedule those during this trip. Finally, we visited again in the afternoon to have drinks from the bar. We enjoyed them on the front porch. Everything about this place is well thought-out to the last detail. I will be visiting again in the future for sure!

Check in is at the St Francisville Inn across the street, where they welcome you with a glass of champagne (perfect after a long drive). Breakfast is also served at the St Francisville Inn, and guests of the Hotel Toussaint also have access to the pool there. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! There are lots of great restaurants and shops in walking distance from the hotel, as well as lots of parking on the road directly in front of the hotel. If you prefer not to walk everywhere, there's a trolley that you can ride between the various shops and restaurants in the area. This is a great place to stay on a trip to St Francisville!

There is absolutely no way of unloading your luggage and getting to your room at all unless you tear up your luggage across the shells. An elderly person or a person with any sort of physical issue will really struggle and I am trying to figure out how it is even ADA compliant. The inn across the street is gracious enough to provide the basic ammenities since this property doesn't, but I believe it is owned by the home interior shop next door. There is no ice, no water, no one even around to help you. Just stay at the actual St. Francisville Inn and skip this bc it was more like a shameless retail plug while you are literally in a pizza shop parking lot behind a concrete wall. I called about my stay and emailed and no one even bothered to call me back. The rooms are beautiful, but you are in a very busy retail space on display for everyone to see. All the exterior chairs and pottery have price tags on them and belong to the retail store- not the hotel. You will also have zero ability to roll your luggage into the room.

I am absolutely disappointed. 150$ a night for pubic hair in the bed. Bugs! Dirty tub. The place outside is worse. Garbage everywhere! Chairs in the lake. I feel like they owe me 4 new tires as well. Pot holes are part of the charm. I just can't begin to tell anyone never stay here. I had to go to the local dollar General ( also nasty) for cleaning supplies and sheets. Lesson learned. I will look at reviews first.

(Now called Hotel St. Francis)…read more We stayed here as part of a wedding (I'm not sure why the bride & groom recommended it) and it was a huge mistake. Friendliness of staff: I had two interactions with the staff to make the reservation and both weren't good. They were very rude and disorganized and it was hard for me to get a confirmation. On arrival, it took 20 minutes to check-in and they couldn't find my reservation. Luckily I had the confirmation slip. Then they tried to overcharge me by $20, but I had the confirmation that showed a lower rate. Then, they still billed me for 2 nights when we only stayed one. I'm still trying to get that fixed. Rooms: The rooms were completely awful. They smelled like smoke, the beds were horrible, the shower ceiling was caving-in, the shower head was horrible. Cleanliness: Also incredibly awful. We took one look at our room and immediately started calling around for other hotel openings, but there weren't any. The toilet seat had some sort of paper towel stuck to it still (I'm really hoping that's remnants of it being cleaned), the soap package was already open and on the sink, and we only had one towel (the housekeeping lady, the only nice person we interacted with, did bring us more). Food: We took one look at breakfast and headed for Birdman cafe.
