Had three companies quote, and initially Carl's was the most pricey. But because they give a discount when you exceed a certain amount of linear footage, they ended up matching the price of the others, maybe even coming in slightly under. Why only 4 stars? Because it took way more follow up than one would hope to get revisions to my quotes and an installation date (also, someone named Jenny/Jennifer at the office wasn't, let's just say, customer service oriented). If not for that, I would have given 5 stars for the product they use (Active Yards - I really wanted this which is why I went with Carl's!) and the installation itself. They left my yard clean by making sure everything was picked up and loaded onto the truck, wiping down the new white fence, and even using a blower to clean debris in my driveway and sidewalk! They're actually not 100% done because one of the gates was too narrow so a custom one needs to be made, but that part doesn't bother me at all. Labor has a 2-year warranty, and Active Yards gives a lifetime warranty. Would I recommend Carl's? Absolutely! Just be relentless following up. It's worth it in the end, trust me.

Weeks go by so I decide to call the office and check on the progress, to see if there is a timeline for the railings to be installed. I was repeatedly told I would receive a call back over the next 3 weeks and never received a call back. Finally I had enough and when I called the office to speak to a manager John had a complete attitude with me and refused to help me in any capacity. During the installation there were two issues i identified during the installation that I brought to Dan's attention. He quickly remedied the issues with those installing the fence. 2 months now and no issues with the fence or the installation. Very happy with the job. I highly recommend doing business with this company as my experience has shown that they fully meet their commitments in a timely and professional manner. The installation team was extremely skilled and professional as well. They were very careful to meet my requirements for zoning and placement of the fence and were very careful to make a very minimal impact on the existing landscape. Job well done. As a homeowner with any contractor (unless you plan to pay a very high premium) I recommend that 1) you get all the details of the job in writing and reviewed before the job starts and 2) you be on site to watch the installers and make sure they are doing the job you contracted them to do. So the fact that his price was right made it that much better. Mark is very easy to work with, and he does quality work. I hired Mayan Construction for a landscaping project that involved removing an old patio and then…read moreinstalling pavers. There was also a retaining wall that needed to be removed and replaced. For the first 90% of the job I'd say they did a decent job. The problem was with the finishing details. It's almost as if they finished 98% of the work and then didn't show to complete the rest of it. I asked them to return to my house and was told by Bryan that they would come back, but I never saw them again. I'm talking like a day of work to complete this stuff, if that. They left multiple pieces of rebar sticking out of concrete. I have kids and the last thing I want is for them to get hurt on sharp pieces of rebar. I also don't have the tools to cut the rebar myself. They had a sub come by and replace our aluminum gutters. There was one downspout that connected to an ugly piece of pvc pipe for drainage. I asked them to come back and remove the pvc pipe to make it look cleaner. They said they'd come back, but never did. I asked them to come back and fill in gaps that were left between the pavers, but again nothing was done. There was a sewer clean out that was left protruding above the paver patio too. I don't think I'd hire this company again to do any construction work at my house.
