I'm giving this AutoZone five stars strictly based on the young lady that helped me. She was…read moreknowledgeable, helpful, and polite. She knows cars, and she knows the parts business. I'm really glad I stopped here. AutoZone on the other hand should blow up their IT department and start over. So many pieces of their computer system, their phone system, and even their POS system, really suck.

My current battery had been purchased at an AutoZone in Charleston within the last two years. At the time of this battery replacement in Charleston, the Autozone misdiagnosed the low battery as a bad alternator and sold me an expensive alternator. The new alternator was installed only to find the same charge voltage going to the battery as the previous OEM alternator. I had a Honda dealer check the replacement alternator voltage and they said it was normal and the OEM was probably fine. After complaining to AutoZone corporate at the time they agreed to accept the return of one they sold me and they gave me old alternator back. After it was installed on the car, I had the old OEM alternator checked by Honda. Honda confirmed the OEM alternator was operating as it should. I did receive a full refund and an apology from AutoZone for the poor business practices at the Charleston AutoZone. Back to the visit on January 30, 2024. My daughter asked them to check the battery. They used some type of equipment and said the battery was at 100 percent and the alternator was bad. When she returned home I checked the battery with an ohm meter which showed the battery charged to about 12.5 volts at rest. With the car running at idle and under load the voltage was between 13.95-14.5 indicating the alternator was charging as it should. If AutoZone is not properly training its employees nor providing the proper equipment to test alternators they shouldn't be trying to sell patrons a $300+ alternator. Not to mention the female employee was rude, not helpful, and didn't want to help my daughter in this situation. She actually told my daughter "You couldn't have come at a worse time".

We went for a test drive and I loved the vehicle. Chris honored the e-price and made the purchase of my new Forester very easy. Finance Manager was great, too. They made sure all the T's were crossed, but all-in-all it was a painless experience. Won't hesitate to buy another vehicle from Hadwin White. Chris was wonderful to work with. I fully recommend Hadwin White if you are in the market for a Subaru. My sister came with me, and she plans on having Chris put her in a new Buick soon!

Luckily, I hadn't needed any repairs, or I would have had them done there as well. When I moved to Myrtle Beach last year, I planned on building a similar relationship with Hadwin White. I had my first maintenance done in November and was pleased. When my starter died, I arranged to have it towed to Hadwin White for repairs. I called to make sure I could pick up a loaner before I jumped in the tow truck to ride to Conway from Myrtle Beach. I spoke with Christine and Alison and neither one could promise me one of the two loaner cars they had on the lot at 3:00 in the afternoon. I was told I needed to have it evaluated before they could give me a loaner car and could not provide a car even though I had a dead starter and a 4:00 pm appointment for the next day. As the tow truck was pulling my car away, Alison called back and said I could have a loaner car if I agreed to a $155 diagnostic. At that point, I'd already made arrangements to have it towed to an independent garage. I'd paid a premium in the past to work with the service department at a dealership because they provided a premium service at a premium price. Hadwin White put an end to that.
