I really wanted to love this place, nice place and nice stylist just disappointed in the haircut and mostly sad because I had so much potential to get the hairstyle I've been looking for I had long hair close to my waist, and asked for layers like the picture. I asked and I showed a picture if they can actually give me that hairstyle and confidently the lady said yes. First I want to say that I had been looking for a place where I can do my hair without thinking I will walk out of salon with 6 different tones of color on my head (It happened to me in Fayetteville salon before). I am from NYC and when I left a few years back, not only did I leave home but I also left my hair stylist :-( . Fast forward to today, I am so happy that Mop Heads have stylist that care enough to give their clientele the upmost individual attention and service. Sadly, a stylist here messed up my hair attempting to add layers. I didn't realize this was such a difficult request but the lady who I was originally scheduled with told me she couldn't do them, so then handed me off to a different stylist. I respected the first stylist's honesty, but I guess my second stylist didn't know how to do them either because they look really rough. I am very disappointed that I have to write a negative review because everyone was very nice, they just don't know how to add layers to fine hair I guess. To be honest I'm scared to go back to ask them to fix it because I don't think they can. (Also for the record I've had layers added to my hair before at other salons and they've always turned out great, but not at this place).. :( read more

I go to Ms. Leila and I love her work ethic. From the moment you sit in her chair till the moment she tells you to look in the mirror and see what you think of her work, she goes out of her way to ensure that she takes a personal interest in you as a person while also ensuring that you are more than simply satisfied with her professional ability to make your hair look spectacular. She is one of the few hairdressers I have had who truly means it when she says "if you are not completely satisfied, please, let me know". Yesterday I went in for a haircut, but because I hadn't been in in so long and I couldn't find a very good picture of what I wanted, I couldn't communicate to her my desired end state. She did an amazing job considering how confusing I was but it wasn't exactly what I was picturing. Beautiful work; but not me... I was in a bit of a rush to make another appointment so I wasn't able to say anything right then and, truth be told, I didn't want her to think that she done a bad job when really I just hadn't been able to explain properly. I thought about it all night and decided I was going to go in the next morning if she had an opening to see if she could tweak it a little for me. In the morning when I called, not only did she make room for me in her busy schedule, but she also took her time to look over the new pictures I had and to ensure her work matched them. I am still very impressed... she took no personal offense, instead apologizing to me when really the fault was all mine... and my hair is amazing, exactly what I was envisioning. I travel 4 1/2 hours to get my hair done by this woman and I don't regret a second of that when I look in the mirror at the amazing job she does every single time. Apparently my review got deleted, so I am reposting this as a warning to other's considering this salon. Would NOT recommend this salon. I got a haircut and color by Xan Hunter. I was extremely dissatisfied with the hair color and called the next day to request a redo. Xan said she was going on vacation and wouldn't be able to correct my hair for a week. I was booked with another stylist and I was charged an additional $90! Xan would not listen to my complaints when I tried to address the issues I had with the color and also refused to issue me a refund. In addition, the hair cut was HORRIBLE and the front pieces of my hair were longer than the rest and I had to even it up myself. A nice place to get hair done of any kind. Just make sure your stylist knows exactly what you want and pays attention to your request and not easily distracted from the beginning. If you get something that is just not quite what you ask for you may be told to go elsewhere after it may be somewhat fixed and expect to walk out wet, not dried or styled like I was. As well as no welcoming from entering the salon either owners. If this is what money causes, arrogance and disrespect for asking for correction for something that should have been done right by attention by stylist that you pay for in the first place then they NEVER appreciated or valued you as their client in the first place. NOT RECOMMENDING this business for any service due to the neglect and disrespect given by those that own the business. Very poor reflection of their personality and obviously their service. I went in last minute for a color correction, because I did a home bleach and botched it. Xan told me to go in and that could fix my hair. I went in and she did amazing!! I have a lot of thick hair and she fixed me right up! A few salons said that I would have to wait a few weeks for an opening or that they believed they couldn't salvage my hair. I am very thankful she fixed my hair and make it look great!! read more

I love my new hair color. Dustin baker is my hairstylist. He did an excellent job and took his time to make it come out the way j would like it to be My hair is really black so it is hard to make it lighter without having a reddish tone in it. Dustin took hhis times and made sure the color came out the way I wanted it. It took him 4 hrs to get my hair lighter blessed his hearts lol The price is reasonable and almost the same as other hairstylist I have been to in town. We are new to the area and I was happy to find the salon. Scheduling was very easy and my 8 year old daughter had a great wash, cut, style by Taylor. My daughter is pretty shy and quiet, and when the haircut was done I had miscommunicated something about how she wanted her bangs, and Taylor was so kind and had her hop back in the chair and adjusted it. The price is more than reasonable for the excellent stylists. The salon is well decorated and everyone is professional, fun and friendly. I will definitely go back when I need my hair done. Went here because of the hype, but left with damaged hair & with $200 less in my bank account. Super expensive & i have short hair! Not worth the hype. They also seem to be rushed ALL the time. Someone started my hair & another one finished it (I later found out it was the owner & her son who touched my hair!) I got charged more than what I was quoted & I didn't even get the cut or color I asked for. My hair actually looked better when I came in than when I came out!! The people are nice I'll give them that, but nice doesn't mean good work. Needless to say, I won't be back again. I truly did come out looking like a mop head. Too bad I cant give a negative.... I went into Mop Heads awhile ago and got a set of extensions put in by Taylor... When I went to get them taken out she ripped my hair out when she was removing the glue... She used a teasing comb to remove the glue. Once she was finished I looked down to see globs and globs of hair on the floor. She stated it was from the shedding over the months I had them in.. WRONG! You know there is a problem when you walk out of the salon and your hair is thinner than it was before you had the extensions installed.... I know writing this wont fix my hair but it will caution other girls who are interested in getting any kind of service done in this salon... read more

really don't know where to even start here, by far the worst ever! honestly am scared to even go get my hair done ever again period because of my experience, may just stay natural now.. i went to get my hair done i paid more than i was even quoted , i wanted a balayge and i wanted it blended well. the color came out so awesome it was by far the worst ever ever ever! was not blend looked more like an ombre was not blended AT ALL and just had two thick chunk highlights on my bangs looked so cheap and bad, i told him i wasn't happy but i was rushed out of there he had another client waiting for like 20 minutes and had to have another stylist help blow dry my hair. i mean really for 160 dollars ? went home my husband was even upset, i had to wear a beanie for almost a week before i could get in to have him fix it. i came in and he wanted ME TO PAY 50$!! to FIX IT! like really? my hair looked nothing like the photos i even showed him BTW. while fixing my hair i saw at the shampoo bowl for almost an hour with color in my hair while he was"squeezing me in" to "fix" my hair that he messed up because he has another client . lol such a mess i am actually cracking up at how awful this was. anyways like really you don't cancel someone else's appointment to fix your mistake? so unprofessional , super ghetto! anyways at the end of washing me he sat me at the dryer chair to dry my hair .. LOL!!! i had to go into the bathroom to look at my hair, it was basically a copper red. guy really doesnt know how to do hair. i could of did a better job myself truthfully. maybe he is good dying (well apparently not because when i went in the second time for him to fix i said i wanted to just go dark my hair was so bad , he didn't even do it dark!!!!! i had to go to the grocery store for box color and do it myself !! what a damn waste of money i am so scared ill probably never get my hair done again after this experience , now thats bad, really embarrassing. I have long, naturally curly hair and called requesting someone familiar with long,naturally curly hair. I had never been there before and was recommended Taylor by the lady who answered the phone. The facility is clean and cute and the hairdressers all seemed friendly and fun. I met Taylor and explained I had not cut my hair in 6 months (growing it out) and that I was looking for a trim and to shape up my bottom, very long layers. After a wash, Taylor began brushing out my long, thick, curly hair...with a brush. She yanked and tugged really hard never asking if it hurt or noticing I teared up a few times but when that was done, she quickly snipped the length only and began drying it within 3 minutes of cutting. I was a bit taken aback knowing I needed a really good shape up after waiting 6 months so I asked what she was doing and she said "oh, we only cut dry hair here. we don't cut wet hair. I will dry it first, then cut it". I explained to her that it didn't make sense because my hair is curly, and I wear it curly, not straight and she said again "we only cut dry hair here. we don't cut wet". This completely doesn't make sense. Yeah, I suppose if you have straight hair, cutting it dry and straight is fine but why are you straightening my curly hair to "see better how it falls" if I don't actually wear it straight? This was a further extremely painful process of her yanking my wet curls straight for half an hour to dry, then cut them. In the end, she probably removed 10% of my hair in the brush and still didn't give me a good cut as I now have a "shelf" where the "layers" end and the length falls out underneath. Not only is it clearly obvious when my hair is curly (which is how I wear my hair) but even if I straighten it out, there's this obvious shelf where the shortest layers suddenly end. The only fix is to cut even more hair off, which defeats the purpose of me growing my hair out. Very disappointed. read more
