George, Karen and Linda (Brea store) are just fantastic to work with! I bought an entry level sewing/embroidery machine a month ago and attended several classes to learn to use it and I was instantly creating projects! This is surprising since I'd never used a sewing machine before. At a class this week, I met another lady who got a REALLY great deal on a refurbished high end sewing/embroidery machine and after sleeping on it, decided to go back the next day to see if they could find another deal like that for me. Well, George happened to be there and he and Karen found me a near-new machine with less than 10k stitches on it!!! Needless to say, I came home with a MAJOR upgrade at a GREAT price. These folks really know their machines and supplies, and make themselves available to help their clients and answer every question one could have...and as a super-newbie, I have an overwhelming amount. :) I look forward to spending many more happy hours there learning to use my new power tool with thread and mastering my new hobby. I would advise anyone needing service on their sewing machine not to use Moores. We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Adolfo Camarena in Brea. I understand that things have gotten very expensive, although Mr. Camarena should cool his jets a bit when dealing with customers. We purchased the machine from them a few years back and my wife is a light user. I made the critical mistake of questioning their repair price and lack of any explanation as to what is included. Mr Adolf became very arrogant and testy with me. You would think that they could have a better attitude with a repeat customer and be a little more customer friendly. I purchased a pre-owned Pathfinder embroidery machine in November 2025. I've owned this machine for approximately 3 months. I've only been able to use the machine for less than 5 hours. It's been in the repair shop twice. I had to pay for the warranty repair out of my pocket and have yet to receive reimbursement. The staff is friendly and sure wants to sell you a machine. But I think I was sold a lemon. I'm very disappointed in their lack of customer service. read more

We needed a new vacuum so decided to stop in. The selection is of high end quality vacuums, not the type that you could purchase at Costco. We were immediately greeted. We explained that we needed a vacuum good for pet hair on hardwood floors. They demonstrated and explained their top choice and how it was different than other models. The price was comparable to other stories, so we decided to purchase the Miele vacuum. I love how easily it glides on the wood floors and picks up any debris in close proximity. We were also fascinated by the huge selection of high end sewing machines that they have on display. Would purchase from again in the future. read more

It is so sad that MOORE'S SEWING & VACUUM Brea IS DISHONEST! I took my sewing machine into MOORE'S SEWING because the thread was getting knotted & then it stopped running . I left it there , they looked at it . I was told it needed a new motor & that the motor for my machine is no longer available. They said I needed to buy a new machine ( nothing less than $800 in their store) I can't afford a new machine! So I brought home my machine & did some research. I found Upland Sewing & Vacuum! It was SO WORTH THE DRIVE! They were able to fix my machine! It was a loose wire ,needed to be recalibrated,& cleaned for $125 bucks! SO WORTH IT! It works great! Good old fashioned service!! I went there because I needed help with my central vacuum powerhead and but found out that they do not service central vacuums. He asked me what my issue was and I explained it to the man. He helped me by opening up my unit and identified what parts I needed and even made a phone call to see where I could purchase the parts. I recently bought a Chorus Sewing Machine from Moore'. Being as I don't live in Ca, I had to call them. Lily was the one I spoke to. She was very friendly and so helpful. She answered all my questions and concerns. I got a fabulous deal and have enjoyed this machine so much. Even after receiving it, Lily is still there to help and answer my dumb questions.I also bought a Jazz II last year from them. Aaron greets me by name when I walk in the store and asks what he can do for me today. They provide great vacuum service! I've just purchased my third Miele vacuum from Moore's in 30 years. My 30 year old Miele still works. Just a TLC service as needed to keep it in great working order (it's not used regularly anymore). This time I purchased a stick vacuum for quick clean up. Aaron took the time to show me how to set it up and use it and gave me some great tips. I wouldn't buy or service a vacuum anywhere else! read more

Recently discovered that most places that service machines are either half of the price of Moores. Feeling like I have been fleeced, and I'm not happy. Took my machine elsewhere after it seized 2 months after "maintenance." They had my machine for almost three weeks. I had to call to find out when it would be back. I do not recommend taking your machine to this facility. read more

I took my sewing machine here to have it checked because the thread kept bunching up. The lady that waited on me immediately took the machine and tested it to see what the problem was. She showed me the problem which did not require any servicing and I was not charged anything. She was knowledgeable and helpful. read more

UPDATE: There really are no words to describe how AMAZING the service here is (I'm still in a bit of shock as I write this review!). Manny called back saying the piece wasn't in their inventory but that I could still come in to have my sewing machine inspected. I brought my machine in, and Manny inspected it and fixed it without charging me anything!! He even stayed later than he was supposed to stay because I live a bit far. I'm so glad I found this place on Yelp. Also, at no point did I ever feel pressured to purchase anything from this store, which is saying a lot during these times. However, once I learn more about sewing and go back to work in a few weeks, I will DEFINITELY be making the drive back to support this business. I will also be recommending this place to my family and friends, but I definitely wanted to express my deep gratitude for this business on Yelp. Lastly, if you are thinking about going to this business, just do it! There are social distancing guidelines in place (with masks and hand sanitizer at the front), the store is very spacious, and everything was very clean/tidy. ------------------------------------------------ My sewing machine kept getting jammed, so I called this place and spoke with Manny who was extremely helpful. I haven't physically gone in yet for any service but he offered to look at my sewing machine tomorrow to confirm which piece is indeed faulty. Manny was also extremely nice answering my many questions (never had to get a sewing machine fixed before), and I appreciate his patience. I was also nervous about social distancing guidelines (especially with the rise of COVID cases in California, I have been avoiding going out unless needed) but also need my sewing machine to make more face masks for work. I put a sewing machine on layaway a couple months ago. And I wanted to pay it off since last week. I called several times to speak to someone. Manny called me back today, He explained to me with everything that's going on with the coronavirus the store was closed. I told him I want to pay it off. He was very helpful to looking into it. He upgraded the model of sewing machine because it wasn't available. He was very prompt with making phone calls and getting back to me. I have been a customer of Moore's for 9 years. I've bought 4 machines (1 sewing machine and 3 embroidery machines). I have had such a great experience with the quality of their machines. I'm particularly fond of the Brother machines. I get my machines serviced regularly, so the CPP is a must. The classes are great, and everyone there is so friendly. He took the time to explain how to use the machine to prevent any future problems. He knew the product well and was very patient. They offer free classes on how to use the machine. I had one of those portable sewing machines, a Brother CS6000i. I had it for 5 years until it got broken. I read good reviews online about the Moore's store in Brea. I took the machine there, as soon as I walked in a guy greeted me, he was nice and polite. I explained to him, I brought a sewing machine for repair. He looked at the machine like it was from the 19th century, I could see it on his face. He run the machine for a bit and said it was going to cost $199 to repair it, that I was better off buying another one from them. I said no thank you, and walked out of the store. He was clearly not interested in fixing my machine, he wanted to sell me a new one. I'm giving the store 2 stars because it's a very nice store, like a sewing machine wonderland. If you are looking to buy a sewing machine, that's the place to go, if you want to have your machine repaired, go somewhere else. read more

*note... this is based on one time here, but w/ good reason* So I have a Dyson 40 vacuum and there was a problem with it. I called Dyson, they set me up with Moore's. My assumption is they contract to shops like Moore's to do their repair as part of Dyson's warranty. Anyway, when I called Moore's they told me to bring it in and that they typically send repairs on a truck to their repair location and could take maybe 2 weeks. So I bring in my vacuum, expecting to tell them my claim ticket and to wait 2 weeks. This guy (I think Aaron) greets me IMMEDIATELY when I walk in and asks what's going on. I show him my problem, he gets on the floor with it, fixes it within 5 min (maybe less), explains the problem, even joked when I said, "I thought it'd take longer." He said, "Oh, you got the spiel about 2 weeks? That's just what we say. Doesn't always happen." In short..... SUPER GREAT SERVICE!!! I would 2000% recommend anybody with machine repairs to come here, simply based on the service. To me, service is (mostly) everything. SUPERB SERVICE AARON!!! read more

I accidently wrote this review for the Corona Store, my experience was at the ORANGE LOCATION. I am very satisfied with the level of customer service I received at this shop. When I walked in the door, Alex was ready to look at my machine. He took the time to carefully evaluate every possible problem that could be causing my machine to not work properly. His customer service skills is what sold me to this shop. After not being able to pin point the problem, he offered to have Eric take a second look at it, so that I could make an educated decision on the fate of my machine. Eric's expertise with Brother machines determined that the problem with my machine was that was severe timing issue. Thank you very much for putting so much service into Customer Service. Went to shop for a new sewing machine and was helped by by some lady then while helping me she then walked away and had some guy help me, probably because she knew I wasn't going to spend 1000's of dollars. This guy was in the middle of showing me a sewing machine then turns around right in front of me and decides to help some other lady! He just had me standing there twiddling my thumbs waiting, so I walked straight out of the store. And this is how businesses go under....what a shame. read more

I changed the needle on my sewing machine and no matter how many times I tried to get my machine to sew, it didn't grab the bobbin thread and looped around and around the needle. After much frustration I took it to Moore's as my regular repair man is now retired and expected to pay a lot to get it fixed. Not only did they fix my machine in minutes, they wouldn't let me pay them. I wish there was a way to pay it forward so this is what I'm doing on here. Bought an expensive sewing machine. Opened the box and the screen is cracked and the machine had scratches on it. They told me brother wouldn't send it out like that. Implied that it was done by me. I havent even gotten to use it yet everything was taken into them wrapped up in the bags they came in. If i received it that way and it wasn't brother that leaves them. Was told he'd ask his boss and call me wednesday morning but I had to call them not long before closing. Never doing business here again. There's obviously no respect for their customers. I paid 700 for a beat up machine and was told I'm shit out of luck because its not a defect yet that's the condition I received it. It came to me that way so why am I paying for it? read more

Moore's has always been a more than helpful sewing store with nothing but nice patient staff who are all very knowledgeable of all the different machines. I learned about Moore's from my mom, she's a master quilter- until she her strokes & her deficiencies left her unable to physically able to do it anymore- she has 6 machines she purchased all from Moore's over the years- I've followed in her footsteps. Taking different quilting & embroidery class Over two years in HB. I loved every minute of every class. I love my new hobby Unfortunately.... the Brea store has a Manager , Aldolfo who promises a lot & delivers nothing but continued broken promises. The Brea store is a great store, The store is big, with lots of space for classes, there is plenty of parking & the location is great. I was so excited when the Orange store closed & this one opened. But unfortunately, I will be driving to the H.B store from now on. Adolfo has ruined it for me. His staff complain about him as well. So for that reason I will never walk into the beautiful Brea store Again, the staff is Great, the manager is not. Grateful for the other stores. Only Brea is the closest to me now since we moved so I have to find a new sewing Center to go to being as I'm not able to get to HB as much anymore. I don't usually leave reviews, but I'm so disappointed, & to find out I'm not the only one who agrees.....I thought I would share. I have a Shark Navigator and I was trying to change the roller on the vacuum. There was about 13 or more screws that I needed to take out. I found out later that they really don't want you to change parts on this vacuum, they want you to call and get item placements. There was one screw left that was in and kind of stripped and I could not get it out. I took it to a local vacuum cleaner store and they told me about Shark and that nobody really touches them. She advised me to call the Shark dealer. I called the Shark dealer and they didn't have a clue of how to help me. I then called Moore's and spoke with Josh on the phone. I explained my dilemma with the screw, and he said come on by and he would try to get the screw out. I was so elated because I was going to have to possibly buy a whole new vacuum! Went right over to Moore's and Josh got the screw out, attached my roller and I was so elated. What a nice guy! As I left, the other store worker opened the door for me. They made my day! I needed a new vacuum because my Oreck died after 21 years an excellent vacuum. I went to Moore's to evaluate and compare vacuums. Erin was a personable and a non-pressure salesman. He listened to what I was looking for in a vac. Then he demonstrated the various vacs. He explained the pros and cons of each one. His store didn't sale a SEBO vacuum at the time but they were going to start selling them soon. I was their first SEBO customer. He told he could order one for me. So I bought one ( SEBO Felix premium). I got a great deal at a price I couldn't pass up, that included a 3 piece accessory kit ( a $100 kit). This vacuum comes with a 10 year warranty! No other vacuum I've researched offers that. The people at this store are so helpful. If one person didn't know an answer to my questions another stepped in and worked to find out the answer. I never was treated like a $ profit buyer. Don't go to another store before buying a vacuum without comparing Moore's first. You'll be presently surprised. I've had my vacuum for a month and I'm So happy with it. The replacement bags are so low priced and so easily replaced. The brush also is easily cleaned. Evaluate this vacuum you'll buy it!
