Yes it is an estimate but you would think that would be at least with in 500.00. The estimate was provided without looking at the whole house. We told her there was more but she declined to look. Her team was great but they can only do what they are allowed. Midway through they informed us what the cost was. When we questioned her on this compared to the estimate this is when she became passive aggressive and would really only speak with us through her staff. She was unorganized, didn't do all that she said she would and was just awful to work with. Her claim of working patiently and kindly with the elderly is not true in our encounter with her. Stay far away from her!

I was moving from Joplin to NW Arkansas and needed items moved to a Joplin storage facility and my…read morenew place in NW AR. 5 Star Moving did great with the local move to the storage facility. 5 stars. The problems began with the move to AR. Four men showed up to pack up my stuff in Joplin. They underestimated the amount so had to wait for an additional trailer to pack most of the rest, this caused their truck to have issues climbing hills so it was over 2.5 hours to drive the 1.5 hour trip (I took a load in my truck too). For some reason, they decided to only send three men to unload! So after 12 hours they finally "finished" unloading. 5 Star did cap my rate at the maximum they estimated, but it could have been much less, I believe. The reason for the one star is that because of the delays and length of time for the three men unloading, they weren't able to reassembly the beds and furniture as they included in the estimate, and 50+% of my items are scratched, dented, missing parts, or broken! I would only use this company for local moves...nothing outside of the Joplin metro. Todd J

Despite my incredible embarrassment at the state my home was in, Crista was professional, comforting, and nonjudgmental. She helped me organize my kitchen before the holidays, which helped me get the ball rolling for my living room, dining room, and front room/entryway. I was more motivated and capable of organizing, at that point. I wouldn't hesitate to have Crista help me again and I probably will, in the near future.

I think I undersold the amount of stuff I had but she never got discouraged (at least to me) and she just kept pushing ahead and working until it was done. She was there on move day, worked with the movers to be sure the load was staged properly. She also helped me find a service to digitize a bunch of old Kodachrome slide shows, cleaned my place after it was empty and was always willing to find a solution to any issue I had or thought up. This included packing, disassembling furniture and moving everything from one 2nd floor unit to another 2nd floor unit, the second of which they were not allowed access to the elevator. We hired a crew of 3 for the day. They worked hard and were very helpful. We did end up paying more than planned, but I chalk that up to the fact my in laws had done even less packing than we had expected, and they had more items than we realized, so time added up. They also came back at the end of the week to move a handful of things from storage, including very heavy, full filing cabinets of genealogy paperwork that is important to my FIL.
