Rude! encountered the rudest sales person at the Shawnesat location. Went to pick up tuxes for the wedding party who are all out of town. Gave me a hard time about picking up the items without the people who ordered them present, so I had to go back with my husband. Was given the old eye roll when the sales person recognized me. Took his time finding the orders and was less than polite. All this was pre- arranged with the store by the groom to have the tuxes ordered and sent to this location. We even confirmed everything would be there a few days before with another sales rep who found the orders quickly and assured me that pickup would not be an issue. It could have been a pleasant experience, but it was stressful and the sales person was so condescending. Do better!!! read more

I attended only to do an exchange on a vest I had purchased as a gift. No one offered any help as I just walked around the store for ten minutes. I seen two gals sitting at the back desks I asked if someone could go an exchange. The one gal said ONLY OUR MANAGER CAN DO RETURNS and told me PAULA would help me. I looked at Paula the Manager as she completely ignored me, kept on doing "nothing" and avoided me as if I wasn't standing there waiting. I decided to leave and go to a better accommodating store. It had been ten minutes. As I was headed to the door, she came up behind me and said @ok let's go that exchange now"! I asked why the problem with serving the customer and she didn't even answer me. My comments seem to align with all the other experiences. An overall rating of less than TWO is brutal. This place is horrific and it is the Manager who has NO CLUE! The fitting was a nightmare. Some kid with food on his shirt and greasy hair tried to stumble his way around my tux fitting. Luckily someone stepped in and managed to save him. The Tux was fine. An astronomical amount of money for a tux rental FYI. Over $200 for one day in a tux is ridiculous. The return policy gets me though. You must return the tux the NEXT DAY or you pay a late return. Figure this out Moores. This is clearly a cash grab, as my tux is ready nearly a week before. When I returned my tux, the manager and another trainee were the most lifeless human beings I've ever met. If it wasn't for the nice lady that works there that said bye as I left, I would have assumed everyone was half asleep here. If you're looking for somewhere with customer service, go somewhere else. The tux was B-. Order something online as you'll probably have a better experience. I won't be returning. read more

I must admit I don't have a lot of experience with buying men's ware but after giving Moore's my wedding's business I was close to driving my car through their front windows in a fit of rage. Luckily for them, I didn't want to deal with an autobody wedding vendor or covering cuts and bruises with makeup. It all started with going in there for a tux rental and to open the wedding's file. Well, hubby looked like hell in their rentals so I asked to see a suit for purchase. I should have started to worry right then because they would have let him walk out the door with the rental if I wasn't there. The suits for purchase look alright and we opted to buy (why wasn't that suggested? I assume they made more on a sale verse rental). Evan told us we needed an ivory shirt to match my ivory dress (I hadn't thought about that) but since they didn't have hub's size we should buy a shirt and order in the right size and then just do the return when the shirts come in. He also sent the suit home with us because he suggested the alterations be done closer to the wedding - great idea (or so I thought at the time). We left without the shirts somehow as I thought they were in the suit bag and we didn't get handed anything else. At some point at home I realized we had no shirts. Ahhhh. It took a while to verify we actually bought shirts and weren't scamming shirts that didn't fit but ultimately that was sorted. The window for the shirt on order to come in cam and went. A call to the store said they would be another week. That week came and went. Eventually they ordered the shirt in and it was the original size that we were suppose to be trading in for the right size... not the right size. This time the size we wanted wasn't available anywhere and we were out of luck. WTF - we'd already had our party buy that same shirt in their sizes. They looked harder and managed to find the shirt. This was 8.5 weeks. I think I could have learned to sew and made a shirt in that time. Alterations time. They asked for the suit to be dry cleaned before it arrived in the store. It literally went from the store home and sat in the closet.... no one mentioned it had to be dry cleaned to have a new suit tailored because we didn't immediately tailor and took the assistant manager's suggestion and waited. I still don't know why on earth did I not go in with hubby to the actual tailor appointment? Unfortunately, alterations were done to the pants and sleeves but the jacket really should have been taken out a bit at the same time. We pointed it out in store before it went home with us and although you could see the guy agree he ran and checked the alterations order and saw it didn't mention the jacket. Unfortunately at this point we didn't have another 10 days for another set of alteration and we went with a tight jacket. Ultimately it worked out okish.... but it was a lot of hassle. TOO much hassle. I think my husband's relationship with them is forever damaged. Our whole party bought suits after hubby did and then there was all the accessories. Cufflinks, shirts, shoes... and then there was the "since we're here" purchases I know at least two of them bought since they were already measured. Huge $$$s but Moore's didn't seem to value that kind of business from us and we were totally disappointed. read more

I've rented a tux before from other places and had no problems. If only this could be one of those stories. Two groomsmen from Edmonton & 1 from Calgary. We went for our fittings (two at other stores and one at this location) and everything seemed okay. Four days before the wedding I picked up my suit from this location. The shirt was a touch big, but serviceable. I was swimming in the vest & pants though and it took a bit of prodding to get them to admit it. Some quick alterations and wasn't a major issue. They resolved my concerns quickly. Though another groomsmen waited until Saturday night to get a proper fitting jacket as they screwed up pretty badly and didn't have anything for him. Next problem: we ordered bow ties. What did we receive? Clip on regular ties. Not what we ordered. Store seemed indifferent to their error. Bride said whatever. As long as the groomsmen match, doesn't matter. A little acknowledgement of their error would have been nice. The shoes one groomsmen were given were atrocious. Beaten up, torn, scuffed. He refused to take them. They insisted. When I arrived, I said we weren't taking the shoes. We would go and buy our own. We still had to take them, the store said. And pay for them. And when I refused to take them they said I had to. No choice. "Store policy" the kid assisting me said. Apparently this Moores is doing so financially poor that they need the extra $20 that badly. I'd be very concerned about putting my wedding day in their hands. I had a really poor experience and won't be renting from Moores again. I'll be recommending my friends purchase suits from Nordstrom and get them tailored properly. You should go there too. Great service and the groom (who purchased his suit at Nordstrom) looked SPECTACULAR. Enjoy the $20 you stole from me, Moores, because it's the last $20 you'll get from me. read more

I've shopped at Moore's for 16 years and if the 16 years I've been a client of the Manager's for all 16. I've bought over 30 suits, 100s of shirts and pants. One of the most classy and intelligent managers I have ever dealt with. Well trained staff, friendly, helpful, and classy. Harman (the manager) has always ensured that his customers are treated fairly and with respect. My father only shops with him, my brother only shops with him, I only shop with him. The man is in a class of his own. I've worked retail, and do a lot of shopping with my family and we have never had service that matches the levels here. If I could give 10 stars I would but 5 will have to do. read more

By far the worst customer service I've ever seen in a retail establishment. They stand around and make you wait even though they visible see you're searching for assistance. They do an awful job at tailoring or making adjustments after purchasing custom or regular suits. Their high end custom suits fall apart within a year or two of purchase but yet are considered high end. Their wedding rentals are poorly made, baggy, and very sloppy looking. It is by far the worst "bang for your buck" for wedding rentals or any rentals for that matter. If you do happen to finally get someone to help you they're usually inexperienced or or just looking to push sales with no value. I highly recommend using any other outfit than Moore's Crowfoot. I have shopped at Moore's since I was 16 for hockey and now business (16 years loyal customer) and it's sad to see the quality go down so significantly and zero customer service. Avoid this place at all costs as there are so many options in Calgary, please shop around! read more

Poor customers service. Inexperienced staff and EXTREMELY rude manager

Customer service could use some improvement. To start off with my experience, they were very friendly helping me make my selections for my wedding. I had 6 groomsman, the groom, my father and three nephews willing to rent their suits. When my father and three nephews (WHO ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN) came in for their measurements they were turned away because they did not make an appointment. Meanwhile all the staff is standing around doing nothing. So my dad and the boys took their service somewhere else. I called the store and asked where my out of town groomsmen whom had no near Moores stores could send their measurements to. The guy on the phone told me they would not take measurements that were not measured by them, because they could get measured wrong. I did end up finding a fax number they could send them to, but with no help from the store. Meanwhile the guys who were measured in a Moores store, went to pick up their tux and one was measured two inches too short in the pants. The others jacket was too small, luckily they were great at rushing the correct sizes. But because this is something they did incorrectly, they very well should have been rushing the orders. read more

B - List. Moores is for every man. The suits are of good quality. They have a good selection of shirts and ties, with some higher end items. They also carry leather jackets on occasion and you can even purchase a bow tie if you wish. Service is hit or miss. The veterans and naturals know what questions to ask, give you space and are truly helpful. On one occasion I met an employee who sounded like a used car salesman. He proceeded to show me the new line of Buffalo jeans with a price tag approaching 100 bones when, in fact, I was looking for dress shirts. To make matters worse, he's a smoker and his breath could strike down a donkey at 40 paces without hesitation. Fortunately, this is the exception and not the rule at Moores. Most folk there are nice smelling people. Just beware. I told you so. ** UPDATE - The guy with the donkey breath is still employed there. Was hounded by him last weekend. He is relentless. Watch Out! I have a sour taste left in my mouth after my last time shopping there. I rented a tux for gala that I was going to attend. When I went to try the tux on, the jacket was way too large and would have looked ridiculous to wear it. They looked to see if they could order another jacket in time and found out that it wouldn't get there on time. I knew about the $20 cancellation fee, but I hoping they would waive it seeing as it was there fault. My options were to wear the tux with a huge jacket and pay full price, or cancel pay $20 and find other arrangements. I chose to cancel basically paying to have my time wasted. read more

Ed's provides a great range of men's clothing combined with customer service you can't get from the big department stores, personalized tailoring in particular. read more

We went to Moores to look for suits to buy for our wedding for my fiance and his groomsmen. The first time we went into the store, a sales person measured my fiance's chest, and told him what size he was, but he never measured his shoulders, waist, hips, or torso length, so none of the suits in that size actually fit. When we realized he actually needed one size larger, we found that there wasn't very much selection in his size at all, and the little there was did not seem to be of very good quality. I also mentioned that we couldn't have crisp white shirts,since my dress is not fully white, so I asked about ivory, off white, or pale blue shirts. The sales person looked at me like I was crazy, and said we would probably need to special order something. This can't be that unusual in the wedding business. Most wedding dresses are not crisply white in colour. Suffice to say, we took our business elsewhere. Fast forward a few months, and we are looking to rent a suit for our little three year old ring-bearer. With the upcoming wedding, and the ring-bearer's parents in the midst of selling their home, we were all quite busy, and barely managed to find a time to go get him measured to order the rental. When we finally made it to the store, we were approached 2 or 3 times within a matter of minutes, by staff asking if we needed any help. When we eventually told them what we were looking for, we were told that they were fully booked that night, and that we needed to make an appointment to get our ring bearer measured (what happened to all of the staff that were just milling around with tape measures around their neck??!). There was easily 6 or 7 employees in the store, and only 3 or 4 other customers. Never would I have imagined that we would need an appointment for a task that should take all of five to ten minutes, especially since we were there in the middle of the week, when the store was not busy. Once again, we have decided to take our business elsewhere. I have called a few other places that rent and sell kids suits, and not one of them requires us to make an appointment. read more

The employee was quite nice and did help spectacularly, however the manager on the other hand needs to either not allow personal life stresses to interfere with speaking to a customer or should kindly stop breeding. Initially, he seemed like a calm and collected individual but the addition of the sharp tongue not to mention his horrendous body odor and how inappropriately he wore his suit (fly was open and half an arm out of his sleeve) was quite the spectacle. If anyone is interested in this individual, he has glasses and is fairly dark skinned, a somewhat pungent nose and drooping cheeks. I suggest you give him a nice hug and tell him to go home as he is now relieved of his duties. Overall though, 1/5 only because the employee was really nice and helpful but the manager really needs to stop breeding. I should've asked for your name sir ;) read more

Is it possible to give them less than a 1 star? I was in a friends wedding party last week and ended up having to wear one of my suits instead of the one I had purchased through Crowfoot Moores. First off, when I first went in to try on the jacket, the girl that was helping me didn't even know how to find it. She asked me if I knew the style number or who was helping my friend with his wedding account. She said that they do so many weddings and grads that she wasn't able to look it up without all that info. I was blown away by this because a couple years ago when I got married, all 7 of my groomsmen and myself all bought suits through this store and were able to "look it up" using only my name. I went in a second time to talk to someone else who was capable of finding my jacket for me. once they did, the guy that was helping me quickly chalked one sleeve without asking any of my preferences and said it would be tailored very quickly.. 2 weeks later, 1 day before the wedding, it was finally done. I went in to get it and brought it home. When I tried it on, my mother noticed that the sleeves were way to short, and not even the same length. I went in the next morning (day of the wedding) to see if they could fix the mistake they had made.. the same guy that was helping before was super rude. $300 just for a suit jacket, the jacket didn't fit right, the alterations they did on the sleeves were way to short. The salesman told me that this is the way they are supposed to fit and the sleeves were fine. I told him this is not what I wanted where he proceeded to tell me that this is what I asked for. I never once said anything about having the "high cuff" nor did he ever say anything when chalking the sleeves. He then proceeded to tell me that he has been doing this for 25 years and he knows way more about it than I do.. also asked me if my mother sells suits and when I said no also said he knew more than her. He proceeded to argue with me and never once said they were at fault by any means. He never offered to make things better except when he said "can you wear it to the wedding and we will fix it after?". Why would I spend $300 on a jacket that doesn't even fit? after much more arguing on his part I had enough and wanted to return it. I was able to get a refund, but had to wear a different jacket to the wedding. Luckily the style was similar to the other guys in the wedding party. I will never be setting foot in this Moores or any other one ever again after being treated like such shit. the arrogant salesguys name is Haeman, if you want to waste your money and be treated horribly go see him. He will make sure your suit fits terribly and make it your fault for the shotty service and tailoring. read more

I had the worst experience at Moores in Crowfoot. We purchased 5 custom suits and shirts, going in over 4 months before the wedding. We paid for the entire cost at this time. After not hearing anything from Moores after 3 months, we reached out to them. The suits were in but no one had contacted us to tell us, and then they were down to 1 tailor so they said they needed a month to do all the hemming for the suits. When the groomsman went into the fittings, they asked for them to pay for the suits (which were already paid for). They never contacted them when the suits were ready for pick up. I had to call 3 times before someone could tell me the dates of when each suit would be ready for pick. On the first call, the owner of the store answered the call "what do you want?". None of the details we provided what was ordered by groomsman was recorded in their system, nor could they find the details in physical copy. When calling to ask when the suits were ready for pickup, we realized they did not order 3 of the shirts. This is 3 weeks before the wedding. They did not have it recorded what size shirt was for what groomsman, so I had to provide them the sizing details to get them to even order the correct size. Then when we went to pick up the suits and shirts, one shirt was ordered in the wrong size. It is now 1 week before the wedding, and the shirt is still not in. No one again called to tell us this, we had to physically go to the store (on the day they said it would be available for pick up), to be told the order wasn't even put through. Now we are told it will be ready in a couple of days, which is 5 days before my wedding. I will never shop here again and I would strongly tell others to never shop here. The store manager was one of the most rudest and unprofessional people I have ever dealt with in retail. read more
