I have given her a range of items way too small and huge to alter and she makes them look like they were made for my body. I recently bought a pair of pants that were 4 inches too small around the waist and brought her supplemental fabric that does not even look like the pants... she not only added the fabric to fit me, she also camouflaged the entire alteration so you couldn't even see that it was not original!!!! She is also so very friendly and personable. I experienced a very unexpected death in my immediate family and had nothing to wear. I was so overwhelmed with coming to terms with it surrounded by family that I had to find a dress two days before the funeral. I found one that was a mess: too long in shoulders and too big around the top and waist, but fit in the hips. With tears, I asked if there was any way she could work a miracle for the funeral. She didn't even flinch when she said 'absolutely don't worry about it at all'. She, once again, worked a miracle for me and had it perfectly fitted in no time. My rehearsal dinner dress was also altered incorrectly--she tightened it into a bodycon fit after I specifically told her not to. Here's some background: I love Johnny Was. It is my favorite brand. I don't buy it often because it is expensive, but I scour for sales, and I always end up getting 1-2 pieces per year. This year, so far, I have bought four pieces because sales have been insane. I bought an amazing dress on sale from Neiman's online this spring, but it was a full size too big and way too long. I needed several changes: the arms shortened, the whole bottom shortened (but replaced with the original bottom piece because of the way the dress kicks out at the bottom) and it needed to be taken in everywhere. Natalie came to the house, and as she was pinning, I started to realize what an undertaking it would be. The end result is phenomenal. I love it even more than I thought I would. I think my favorite thing is that she added a drawstring so I can tighten it at the waist. Even after spending hours on my dress, she took the time to add a wonderful detail: to the ends of the drawstrings, she added some of the embroidery from what she had taken off. It was some absolutely amazing attention to detail and I was so thankful for the time she put in overall. I found the pricing and turnaround time both incredibly reasonable for what I needed done. I also appreciate Natalie for being so patient with my daughter (an extra extrovert who never gets to see humans anymore). Natalie was so attentive to and patient with her, even though it is not in the job description to dote on wordy four year olds. I know everyone always wants Laura, but Natalie is amazing. Since the change of management and location, the shop has gone downhill. Reliability is down the drain. I've showed up multiple times to pick up my items and told to come back the next day or they pull it out and work on it right there. Where was this effort over the previous week? This was the last draw. They had my items for nearly 2 weeks. I even had a call after the 9 day mark that the items would be ready on day 10. I had other things going on and showed up on day 13 to pick them up. They were sitting on the floor and I was told they were not ready but would be done at the same time the following day. I showed up today at 3:10 to find the closed sign on the door and could see my item sitting on the floor in the same spot it was when I dropped it off and unfinished. When the door was finally opened, the excuse was made that they're swamped and super busy but there was nobody working and the sign on the door says that after 2pm, no tailor is on duty. The work is fine if they do it but avoid this shop if you're expecting your items to be done in a timely manner. I took my items to another shop that will be done in 3-4 days.
