Moore Park is one of the three parks that makes up Centennial Parklands. The other two are Centennial Park and Queens Park. This park is located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. It is located east of Surry Hills and south of Darlinghurst and Paddington.
Decided to walk to this park one morning when I was vacationing in Sydney. It is not very far from Sydney CBD and it is very walkable from that area. The park is situated on both sides of Anzac Parade so there are plenty of buses that pass through the area if you don't want to walk.
The entrance to Moore Park is fronted by the NSW Korean War Memorial commemorating the Korean and Australian veterans of that war. As you walk further through the park, you will encountered a lot of green spaces here. Perfect for a run or walk.
The park is undergoing some construction as a light rail station is being constructed at Moore Park so some areas have been blocked off. This station will be definitely welcomed as Moore Park is situated near Allianz Stadium and Sydney Cricket Ground. And so it will make it easier to reach those venues once it opens.
There are a number of amenities available at the park. I noticed a children's playground, a couple rugby football fields and an outdoor track. There was also an outdoor fitness station with pull-up bars. The Moore Park Golf Course is also located within the park.
And if you are looking for a great viewpoint in Sydney, I would recommend checking out Mount Steel which is a big hilltop near Moore Park Golf Course. It gives you a nice south side view of the Sydney city skyline that is different from the one that you get from the Sydney Tower Eye and when you are traveling in Sydney Harbour.
