I feel like I've never seen the dentist also be the one to do the cleaning until coming here. I found that off but whatever. The first 2 times I've had my "cleaning" it NEVER felt like it was clean. He usually never talks to me and feels more intimidating. Today I went and I'm sooo glad that they finally had a hygienist in there. She was super lovely. I really wish I had met her before because she did an amazing job and she made me feel like my mouth was clean. She did say she was new there but honestly that's probably the best decision the dentist could have done. I just started a new business earlier this year, and lost my benefits package from my prior 15 yr employment, and Mint saved my day with their Mint Freedom Plan for those without insurance. (The perks alone are WORTH the annual membership fee @ $199) Later that day, I made my appointment online, finished the necessary paperwork that was sent to me, and scheduled for two days prior; I enjoy the ease of scheduling and intake protocol they have as well, no "filling out" paperwork, it's all digital. If you happen to need to get your paperwork done when you arrive, they have iPads for you to do so...easy peasy! The only thing that was a wee bit disappointing was the wait time, in which I waited a bit over 20 minutes, and I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment. Listen, I still would give them a five star review regardless! From start to finish, the kindness and professionalism oozed out of this office! It takes a lot to impress me and write a review, but hands down, this is a great office to come to. Every person I came in contact with had the best attitude and willingness to assist from front desk, intake, dentist, hygienist....every person, that's not common nowadays. TLDR; botched root canal nearly cost me my life; did cost me my health…read more What would I recommend Mint Dentistry for? Relatively inexpensive cleaning. However, whatever you do, DO NOT accept any offer from them to do anything beyond cleaning. I was told I needed to have a root canal on one of my molars. Was in the chair for 4 hours. At least half of which was sitting there by myself, with my exposed nerves waiting for the dentist to come back from whatever they were off doing and finish the operation. They finished, and I went home. A few months later, I started to become sick relatively frequently - at least once every 1-2 months for nearly the next 2 years; my immune system had weakened for some reason, but I was never terribly sick. I had done cleanings with them after that, but a dental abscess had begun presenting over the span of a week where I became especially ill, I came back in to have it examined. After x-rays, I was told I had an infection at the root, prescribed clindamycin--an extremely potent, broad spectrum antibiotic--and was referred to an endodontist. Six days into my seven day course of clindamycin, my entire body broke out due to an allergic reaction. This is also when I found out that I'd had Mono for the last two weeks due to my weakened immune system from the infection. I was put on steroids for the reaction and finally made it to an endodontist appointment. The dentist at Mint Dentistry had missed TWO nerves in my root canal nearly two years prior. They had rotted inside the canals of the dead tooth and become infected. Luckily the endodontist was able to redo the root canal, but my recovery was exacerbated due to my compromised immune system, allergic reaction to the overkill antibiotic prescribed by Mint, and weeks of additional sickness and recovery due to my destroyed gut microbiome which was wiped out by the same broad spectrum antibiotic. Oh, and I had to figure all this out myself since I was never warned about the potency of said antibiotic by Mint... The endodontist told me I was lucky we caught it when we did, because if the infection had grown much more, it likely would have spread through my blood and infected my heart... In summary, Mint Dentistry is a chain-cleaning service. And it stops at that--which is totally fine if that's what you need, but quality dentists do not work here, and there's a reason why. You wouldn't wine and dine your wife at a chain fast food spot for your anniversary, so don't do so with your oral health. It's been a couple years now since all this took place, but better late than never when people's health is on the line.

Upon arrival, I recognized the office manager (Melanie Jackson) as the same cheerful, go-getter office manager that was once at the Red Oak location. My 'nervies' disappeared about being at a new location, and when a brief snag arose with verifying coverage - once again this office manager proved to be a cheerful, go-getter, problem-solver (I've never seen an office manager care and work as hard as this one!). I was additionally pleased with Dr. Wald -friendly, professional, caring, and personable. December is a busy time of the year and many of us put off dental appointments until the very end, I appreciate the enthusiasm to which I was scheduled at this location and the kindness to which I was served.

I recently went back for my first checkup after the pandemic and the first time since it has changed ownership. Saw another dentist who told me I needed a deep cleaning bc she saw bone loss. While I was in for the procedure, I heard them telling two other patients they needed deep cleanings too. My husband had his checkup visit immediately after my deep cleaning and they told him he needed one as well. Why are they pushing deep cleaning? It can not be a coincidence that 4 people needed the service. And they would not perform the regular cleaning for my husband bc he declined the deep cleaning service. Why not finish the appointment they are charging our insurance for? It all feels very shady now. I've lost my trust that this office has the patients best interest at heart instead of pushing higher prices services. When you loose trust in your doctor, you've lost everything.
