The person cutting hair seemed nice too. But I didn't like my haircut. I have attached the image I showed for inspiration. I am not a barber, but when you do fades, having a little slope is good, with smooth transition, not making head like a square. I wouldn't make the fade too high. You need to add some weight on the sides. Second, the images in the reviews have a crisp hairline in the forehead. If you charge extra, I could have paid. Now I am trying to style my hair, it seems so bad. Asking customers at the end if you like the hair, do you wanna make changes? These things are very important to gain trust. I couldn't tell about my hair because I was never turned to the mirror and got busy with the ATM thing as I didn't know you only accepted cash, not even online. I wouldn't have written review now if I was only asked that question. I want the business to grow. Just some suggestions.

I do have a barber I like, but he's in my home away from home in Boston, so it doesn't do me any good when I need to get a fresh cut here in SoCal. Thanks to some yelping I discovered HoB, and decided to give them a try. Called on a Thursday morning and asked if they did walk ins, and the answer was yes, not a problem at all, and I set up an appointment with Justice for the the next day. Friday rolls around and I head over. The place is literally around the corner from home, and next door to my favorite local Chinese spot I've been going to for years, but I'd never noticed this shop. Walking in I was impressed; nice clean shop with a hip vibe and friendly staff. I got in a bit early and had to wait for Justice to finish up with a client in his chair, but no worries, I killed some time watching March Madness on the shop TV. Justice finished up, and invites me to take the chair. I get settled in and we exchange pleasantries. Super cool dude, and took time to get an idea of what I wanted. I'm pretty simple, with a zero shave up top, and a face shave and mustache and goatee trim. Justice went to work, making small talk during the process. I felt comfortable during the entire time I was in the chair, and totally relaxed. Justice used trimmers for most of the cut, since even though I love a good hot towel razor shave, I've been having issues with razor bumps lately, and when I advised him of that he concurred, only using a razor and gel for the final lineup on the beard. I gotta say that lineup was laser sharp, and I looked like a new man when I looked into the mirror at the end. Definitely check these guys out if you need a fresh cut or trim.

Cypress Barbershop's online presence gave me the impression that they specialize in fades, but I know they do more than that, since they were giving various types of mens haircuts both times I was getting mine cut. Neither time did I make a reservation before coming here, since walkins are welcomed. One of the things that everyone heading to this barbershop should know is that they accept cash only. Cypress Barbershop is in a small shopping center, but there are more than enough parking spaces available at all times. When I visited, there were four barbers cutting hair each time. I waited at the most 10 minutes before getting my cut. On the wall behind the front counter is the price list for each type of haircuts. Mens haircuts are $18 and senior cuts are $15. This shop is kept clean. The same woman gave me a medium fade with a comb over both times. She took her time cutting my hair and was precise on how she wanted my hair to look. Nice job - both times.
