They are incompetent and have had way too many people pass away because they said they were okay and sent them home with no further testing or monitoring. This hospital is incompetent. I'm highly disappointed and heavily frightened for borger citizens. The fact that Borger hospital has had this happen multiple times it is an amazing wonder why they are still open or have not had a change in competent caring Doctors. Borger Golden plains community hospital is a disgrace to the community. And I apologize incredibly if this has happened to your family too. I would recommend avoiding this hospital at all cost and going to Pampa or amarillo hospital my Mimi had a stroke. She went to borger emergency room where they did a cat scan and told her "she did not have a stroke" and sent her home. She was still feeling off and not able to walk by herself very well So we took her to Pampa hospital. And they did an MRI and it showed she did infact have a stroke. I'm so glad we went to Pampa hospital. Borger hospital is sadly very incompetent as always. They've had too many cases of saying someone is okay and then them leaving/ being discharged and dying. It's sad. And worrisome for people who can't make it to Amarillo or pampa. I am looking into how to file a complaint against Golden plains community hospital to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. She'll be in the hospital until Monday. She's doing better and is finally able to have moment in her hand And I was told she is walking today too. Due to the stroke she had nerve damage.

She is a disabled veteran and although they do have a VA ER here we were informed that they were very busy and a very long wait time. We decided to go to the above mentioned ER which stated I'm their marquee out side that the wait time was 3 minutes. The receptionist was very rude and was not helpful at all. After several minutes of back and forth regarding insurance and billing she finally gave us the paperwork to register in. A family of five enter a few minutes behind us. We waited 15 to 20 minutes before called in however the family that came in behind us were called in almost immediately. The nursing staff were rude and unfriendly. Felt like we were bothering them. This place was not busy at all. Dr was sitting down on his phone, I realize it may have been a work call but based on his body language it looked like a personal call. It took about 15 minutes before he came into the room and said he would be back when they had flu/covid results. It was about 20 minutes before he came back, positive for Flu. Dr provided prescription sent us on our way. Before leaving I had to use the restroom. There were two available and I unfortunately picked the one that was filthy, toilet paper on the floor, no soap, trash overflowing and vomit on the wall. I did inform the security guard who by the way was the only nice and helpful person. He did explain that the cleaning crew did not work on weekends. Yuck. I have since heard from family and friends that they have had similar issues at this ER. Thank you for letting tell you about our experience. I hope things change at this establishment so that othes do not have to go through the same experience. I did write a review on Google and did receive a response asking if they could speak to me in person. I it's been 2 days still no call.

I get that you are at your job working but I think you need to be more considerate of someone public comes in rather than laughing and giggling while they are at your window.

Not only did they not want to let us into the emergency room when my son was visibly acutely ill, but the doctor did not want to touch my son to examine him. The hospital claims values of respect, integrity, and compassion, but they did not extend those values to us. As for the Hippocratic Oath, that was not honored either. This was one of the most virulent examples of anti-Blackness that I have experienced in the modern era.

Being said, since she's never experienced an accident like this before, she was historical and in a lot of shock. As soon as they arrive to the ER they raised their voice at her to calm down and it startled my mom so she tried her best to be calm. She was admitted into a room where they stitched her up with 20 plus stitches and then ran an x ray on her hand to see if her fingers were indeed broken. The whole time she was there which was well over 1 hour mins she did not receive anything other than numbing shots on her hand for the stitches which obviously wore out. She was not given any type of medicine to calm her down or anything for the pain. Once the nurse returned we were informed that three of her fingers were fractured, and they couldn't do anything but tell us to head to Liberal, KS. My mom at this point was again in very, very bad pain and was almost squirming on the bed and the nurse did nothing but watch her cluelessly. The doctor prescribed two different medications that we had to go pick up from the pharmacy. (It's Labor Day so we weren't even sure if any where open!) Since my mom was again in excruciating pain I asked did the doctor go ahead and call in the prescription so it can be ready as soon as we arrive and the nurse said "No this doctor only writes out all his prescriptions." They discharged her with nothing more than a piece of tape on her fingers, yes a piece of scotch looking tape to put her fingers straight in place. There were other items mentioned on the discharge papers that weren't even given to us! Apparently if you enjoy to be tortured in pain go to this POS hospital! If you would like to be treated HUMAN it's well damn worth the 40 minute drive to an ACTUAL hospital in Liberal, KS. The so called "doctors'" name was Gary, this took place the 6 of September 2021 at about 8:30AM and was discharged at 10AM. Ridiculous honestly this hospital serves no purpose, shut this sh*thole down before someone loses their life because they aren't taken serious.
