I couldn't help myself from flipping through some of the Priscilla Cummings books as I remember when she visited my school as a kid. I've been a fan of Chadwick the Crab ever since! I also liked looking at the various products from the J.O. Spice Company. I come from a family of commercial crabbers and this might come as a shock to some but JO, not Old Bay, is our preferred crab seasoning. But J.O. isn't just for crabs and they offer spice blends and other stuff like chicken rubs, crab cake mixes and steamed shrimp seasoning. Aside from the above, I also enjoyed looking at cards, soaps, Scout bags, novelty salt and pepper shakers and such. The employee, perhaps the owner, was friendly and welcoming as most people are in this quaint town nestled along side the Miles River. This was definitely a fun stop!

I went back on 11/10 ( I work a hybrid schedule so wasn't back in the area until then). I was told that I was not able to return the walking pad - one that requires an electric cord to plug into the wall & a remote to work it, because it was not considered an "electronic" and not a part of their return policy. The manager proceeded to be rude and get smart with me and asked me why I would purchase something when I didn't know if it had all of the parts, which I followed up and asked her why they would sell something on the floor without all of the parts to it. She responded with "that's how it gets donated." So are you going to 1 shoe instead of a match? Are you going to sell a movie without the DVD in it? They really tried to convince me that a walking pad, that needs electricity to work, and has motors, was not an electronic device because it was exercise equipment. I didn't buy dumbbells. Since they didn't want to give me a refund for my purchase, I left my receipt with the manager & went and "donated" the walking pad BACK to them. I can't use it. So if you see an Ancheer walking pad in the back, don't buy it.

Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

This place is setup in the typical "vendor stall" setup that's common with antique multi-stores where each little booth is a separate seller. Overall it provides a better experience for the customer with a plethora of different vendors and things to peruse. Sometimes these larger malls are a little bit cumbersome to navigate and I find myself thinking "oh crap, have I done this room yet?" but Antique Alley was kind enough to have arrows on the floor to direct you through their space, to make sure that you were able to see everything and not have to double back.
