I was actually able to take a free tour here and learn about This place while on a parent Led 8th grade class graduation celebration for my oldest daughters class. Part of the celebration was to take a limo ride over to the NoCo area to take photos and selfies with the awesome public art scene. While walking around a worker From maker 13 stopped us and asked us if we wanted to come in and take a tour on This surprisingly chilly late April evening. The kids and parents all obliged and we really enjoyed the tour. The kids were very attentive and asked a lot of good questions about the program and got to witness some local artist perform their work and craft. The studio is basically a rent an office place for artists ranging from designers, computer techs, wood workers and other skills im not familiar with. They do offer summer program and things for youth to come in and work and have a space as well. While on the tour they did have some sodas and snacks for sell which all the hungry teenagers obliged in as well. Overall a very cool and unexpected trip and tour on the kids memorable and fun graduation day. I know for a fact that this tour was a highlight and memory for a lot of the parents and kids. So very cool of them to share their space and knowledge with all of us.

This was…read moredefined as the student evaluating your skin for dry and oily areas, then selecting products to best hydrate and brighten it. The hours for the academy are somewhat limited if you work first shift. I believe their last available appointment is 3p. I booked my service for 2p and while it was an hour for the facial (per the Groupon), I didn't leave before 1.5 hrs. This is fairly common for a service at beauty school so prepare accordingly. The students need additional time to ask questions and have check ins with their instructor. I enjoyed my facial and felt that I learned a lot about my skin and its condition. If you've not experienced a facial it includes exfoliation, serums and masks. While the mask is setting you also receive an arm / hand massage. My skin felt great and I looked refreshed. The redness on my cheeks was also calmer. The academy itself is simple. A check in desk and classroom on the first floor, and upstairs another classroom setting with a few rooms for facials and other services. The tables are basic, more similar to a medial or massage table than a cushioned one you'd find at a salon; however, I wasn't uncomfortable. You'll also experience sounds around you as others come into the room for supplies or the next customer is only divided by a curtain. Again, part of the experience attending a teaching academy. As long as you hold the correct expectations you won't be disappointed.

The facility is a little dated, more so upstairs where the facial took place. This isn't a big deal to me but does detract from the ambience of a spa service. Everyone I encountered was polite and friendly. Although it was mentioned to me that service prices had increased since the purchase of my Groupon but they would "honor it anyway"...uh yeah...you better, that's kinda how that works.... My aesthetician cleaned and surveyed my skin. She called in her professor to indicate her plan of action. She then suggested I upgrade to a better line of products for an additional $15. Although my gut told me it wasn't worth it, I agreed any ways. I particularly hate being put on the spot like that. She told me that she needed to get the supplies and was gone for quite a while. When she returned I assume I was given a mask, cleaned and then maybe given a moisturizer. None of this was well explained to me. The actual time she spent on my facial was probably closer to 30-40 minutes, given the waits in between (going to get professor, going to get supplies) I haven't had many facials but the ones I have had have always included some kind of extraction or serious exfoliation. This one did not. It was mostly just her massaging and wiping products off my face. There was also no recommendations or follow up care provided. I tipped 20% on the full amount, which I consider generous given that it was a student/school situation and I wasn't super thrilled. I'm not sure the aesthetician even thanked me. For the quality of service and the cost I ended up paying, I will try a different spot for my beauty service needs.

Once you're inside you see a number of poles coming down from the ceiling and you really feel like you're in a cave because of the stone walls on either end. Another wall is full of mirrors and the opposite wall has Lady Kave's logo which is perfect for a group photo. Our instructor was so sweet and talented. She went over safety and had us stretch. She showed us the dance we would be doing and we all began to be internally worried we wouldn't be able to do it but she was such a wonderful teacher and broke it down step by step. We all were able to learn it! We giggled and twirled and tried to be sexy but couldn't match the instructors grace. I had always wanted to pole dance because it is such an amazing workout and so graceful. Our hour long party did not let us down from beginning to end. Omg our arms were sore the next day! I didn't expect the next part and loved that Lady Kave doesn't take pole dancing too seriously. We divided into two groups and had a dance off where the others put fake ones into our clothing (wear socks, leggings or shorts, and a comfy top). The winners then dueled it out! It was hilarious, fun and tasteful. Our instructor helped take pictures and video. We also got to try the rotating pole, in the corner, at the end and take pictures with boas. I can't wait to go back with a group or to take a class. I highly recommend Lady Kave!!!

It may all be for fun but honey, you're gonna feel the burn tomorrow. I highly recommend starting out with an intro class and staying in the beginners for a while, because anything above that is intense. But the hour will fly by so fast because you'll be having a great time! MDF is a great place to go to try something new.

This beats the snot out of those Youtube or Instagram "bartending classes" for sure. I strongly recommend this course to anyone, from total beginners (like me!) to current bartenders who want to perfect their skills and round out their knowledge.
