If you're not familiar (I wasn't) Excel is the non traditional education arm of Goodwill Kentucky. This campus focuses on empowering people who were not able to complete high school for whatever reason to come back and get their high school diploma as non-traditional students. The campus is light, fresh, airy. They have a daycare on-site, a cafeteria and wellness room, coaches to help you figure out any barriers between you and your diploma, and teachers ready to teach the subjects you need to get to your goals. I got to meet some faculty and administration and see students coming in and out of class. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and full of energy. The last thing that was asked at the end of our tour was - please tell the people you know that we are here and ready to help new students. So, here I am. There are informational sessions regularly and new classes start every 8 weeks. If you (or someone you know) are looking to make a new professional path for yourself and getting your high school diploma is a big step to get there, reach out to this center.

Alex Newman taught my night class, and he is an exceptional teacher who brings out the best in all of this students. The course is very hands-on, and simulates a real working bar environment, which is the kind of experience you just can't get from pen-and-paper learning. This beats the snot out of those Youtube or Instagram "bartending classes" for sure. I strongly recommend this course to anyone, from total beginners (like me!) to current bartenders who want to perfect their skills and round out their knowledge. The class is informative, lively, and most of all - fun! I work full-time during the week, and coming to class after a long work day was a breath of fresh air where I could leave my worries at the door and get lost in lively conversation, drink making, and learning. Jennifer and Alex make sure there are a wealth of resources available to you, and put in visible effort to make sure that your every need as a student is met. It was worth every penny, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend!

The venue for the game was good. There were a fair number of spectators, but it wasn't crowded. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Concessions was good - about normal prices for the items, and it was well stocked. Everyone I encountered there was very friendly and helpful with directions. It is a beautiful campus. Even in the snow.

The selection of art supplies was quite impressive and seemed to include most anything a person could need for art projects (colored pencils, paints, brushes, pens, markers, canvas, children's art kits, and so much more). The prices appeared to be fair and in line with box stores and chain craft supply stores. They offer an array of workshops and classes for all ages that include both one-day and weekly offerings.The class that we participated in was phenomenal. He wants to be an auto mechanic and the school reached out immediately for a meet/greet. He has completed his finacial aide for Fall and also taking a few intro- classes. The communication is tailoered to the students, along with text alerts for meetings, student engagements, social gatherings! Highly recommend this Community College if you are looking for classes and friendly advisors!

This review is for the annual fish fry…read more The set up is somewhat confusing, there is a line that you stand in to get food and pay, but then there is another line that had no payment at the end so what was that food? I never found out. Then there is a whole other table for drinks where you have to buy a ticket for, which didn't concern me because I just had water. I got the fish with rye bread and tartar sauce. My side was mac and cheese and I tried a couple of my friends fries. Everything was hot and fresh although taste was lacking. The fish was pretty bland and the mac and cheese was so yummy looking in the pan, very thick and cheesy, but it hardened in my bowl and was pretty flat overall. Also we got there early which was a good idea because 5 minutes after we sat down a huge wave of people arrived and the dining room filled up to capacity. If you are in the area this isnt one bad, but for me I am still on the hunt for a better fry.
