I had the incredible pleasure of getting a cheese pizza from Moonlight Pizza today. First off - I was supposed to get it yesterday, but due to circumstances I was not able to (totally on me). They were so accommodating and understanding as I called them with updates as to when I thought I would make it and the eventually saying I couldn't - and then they suggested a time for today. Their customer service is beyond compare - 5 stars for that alone. Now the pizza. I ordered cheese because quite frankly, if you can't make a good cheese pizza why bother trying anything else. Ate the first slice upon immediately getting into the car. This pizza has ruined all other pizzas for me- just amazing. Needs no additional seasonings or toppings - like I normally would. To put something on the pizza (hot honey, garlic salt,etc) that they didn't include in the making of this pizza would be.... Ruinous. This pizza is so perfect it only needs to be eaten as is. Run, don't walk to your phone to call and reserve your time to get your pizza made!!! I am a convert and they will definitely see me again. My wife who is not a pizza fan, had a slice and was amazed - so that should tell you something right there. When we get pizza for the boys, she makes pasta for herself. These people are doing the Lords work. Unreal pizza. Crispy on the bottom. Great chew to the dough. Crust has nice crisp and air pockets. Lady at the counter couldn't be sweeter. Super Vibey. Heard about Moonlight Pizza after it was reviewed by Dave Portnoy's pizza series on YouTube. We had to call many, many times to get the pies reserved for pickup in the evening, but it was well worth it and some of the best pizza we've ever had! For perspective, this is coming from two people who lived in the NJ/NY area for many years. The crust and dough underneath were crispy, well done, fluffy on the outer edges, and able to support all the toppings on both the cheese pie and bacon & and caramelized onion pie. Pizza is very good. They are open 3 days a week and leave their phone off the hook for hours at a time during their 3 days working hours. If you get a recorded message that means that they have sold out for the day. The message always comes on before 3 pm and they open at 2 pm. Get over it ! Moved on; so will many others. read more

Good pizza with a crispy and bubbly crust. The spot is tiny and cute, and the owners are super nice. Have to call in the day of to pre-order your dough, and it is usually impossible to get through on Fridays. Out of the 3 pizzas I tried, the white was my favorite. Do they even need my opinion after getting an 8+ from Dave Portnoy? I tried this place before it was famous and fell in love. The quality of ingredients are a notch above what you find in most pizzerias. I got a marinara veg pie and the garlic just melted in my mouth. Don't even get me started on the olives that were on that thing - out of this world!!! It's getting hard to order because the phone is always busy now but I am happy others are enjoying it. This is the best pizza I have ever had the pleasure of eating. This may be a controversial opinion, but I don't care. Moonlight pizza FAR surpasses any pizza I have eaten in New York or Philly. And nowhere else in the local area makes pies as good as these people do. We ordered a single Pepper and Sausage 16" pie. The crust was FRESH with a light, crispy, and airy texture unlike any other pizza I have had before. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect. The sausage was QUALITY. And the red peppers were roasted and so deliciously sweet. To top it off, the basil topping was fresh basil and a good amount! I had high expectations of this eatery, and they still exceeded those expectations. I didn't even have a chance to snap a picture of our pizza because it smelled so damn good. My review will be 1 of 1000 saying that this place is amazing. I am a little out of the area, so the issue will be not speeding to get home sooner to eat it. The whole menu looks fantastic and the salad we got with the pizza was equally delicious and well made. It is very clean and the food prep was meticulous - gloves and clean surface areas. There is a small area to dine and the chairs have little booties on the legs. I mean, if you are going to take the time to put booties on your chairs, you are surely going to make amazing dishes. It's definitely a different process but well worth it! They make a limited number of pizzas so you need to call early in the day to reserve yours for a time slot. The pizzas and even the salads are amazing. You can tell how much love is going into their food! While I was waiting a few minutes for my pizza to cook just right, the small cozy shop was calmly lit by pretty little things and candles. I watched the two people behind the counter look like they were creating little works of art. The only negative is that you may develop an addiction to their food, it is that good. We have had just about every kind of pizza, they are made in small batches so you need to call ahead to "reserve" your dough. Some days they may be sold out, but it's worth trying again another day! In addition to the pizzas they have incredible salads. The best I've ever had, and I can't figure out why! Simple fresh ingredients may be the key. Absolute best. The pizza is so good I have started eating the slices by pulling the crust apart and eating the pizza in small bites. It takes longer to eat but you really do not want it to be over. The salads are outstanding but you will have to take my word that it's true because my wife says so. ( I am not a salad guy) . Ordered a cheese pie, sausage pie, bacon and caramelized onion pie and the harvest salad... and all I can say is WOW!! I read all the 87 five star reviews on google and my first thought was, well, they must be well known to people in the area, and all the friends are posting.,. but let me tell you, that is not the case!!! I have had a lot of good pizza and usually have to travel to get to the really good ones but I am amazed they are in a small area like Pen Argyl, and not to mention I am selfishly thrilled they are!! The harvest salad had bits of goat cheese, apples red beets and arugula oh and don't forget the delicious candied walnuts and nice light vinaigrette, oh boy, I am salivating just reminiscing of it!! The sauce on the pies is delectable and the crust is crunchy, just how I like it! The sausage had a nice fresh taste and to look at the bacon onion pizza it's not exactly pleasing to look at but is pleasant to the palate!! (I still can't believe I can get food this amazing a mile from my house!) With every bite you can tell that Anthony puts his heart and soul into the food he creates In his little pizza kitchen. The crust is beyond delicious - thin, crisp and flavorful. The toppings are all top quality. The service (from sweet Nicole) always comes with a smile and a thank you. I have had the red, white, white with caramelized onions, and the sausage and red pepper special pizzas. All of them are truly fantastic. While you're at it, treat yourself to one of their salads, too. Each has the perfect balance of fresh, quality ingredients and their delicious dressings are homemade.
