Not just by a day or two, but WEEKS or even a MONTH past the expired date on the bottles. This issue is not limited to just one brewery/distributor, but something I've seen with many different labels in-store. A tell-tale sign is when they are still selling winter seasonals like the Deschuttes Red Chair in mid May! On four different occasions I have brought this to the attention to the store mgr on duty, to no avail. The latest incident involved expired Green Flash and Deschuttes labels. Buyer beware! They have a fairly decent selection (not as good as Lukas, but better than the typical neighborhood store) and fairly typical prices, but apathetic Management that would rather sell expired craft beer to us than deal with a clearly recurring problem. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

This is a relatively small shop and the selections for beer/spirits definitely reflects that, this is a wine focused shop, and if you are in the market for wine then this is a good place to shop. They have a great variety of wine, actually better than most stores that several times the size, and the employees are very knowledgable and have lots of recommendations to help you find the perfect bottle. I do most of my wine shopping here and it has always been great. The beer and spirits selection is pretty mediocre, they carry the standards from each category, but you won't likely find something rare or coveted. The big issue, especially when it comes to their beer, is it just doesn't move on the shelves. I've actually stopped buying a lot of my beer from them, especially IPA's because most of the ones on the shelves are several months old and close to, or past the best by date. If you are looking for fresh craft beer, I would look elsewhere.

He listened to what I was looking for and recommended the Cutwater Margarita Variety Pack. I'm so glad I took his advice! I had never tried Cutwater before, and the variety pack was a great way to sample several flavors without committing to just one. Considering how pricey these drinks can be when purchased individually, the variety pack was a much better value and reasonably priced. The store itself is clean, bright, and well organized, making it easy to browse. Prices were clearly marked, and everything was laid out in a way that made shopping simple. The location was also a bonus since it was just a short drive from my hotel, making it an easy stop before calling it a night. There's a good amount of local beer as well as surrounding Midwest breweries. I picked up a couple different beers to try. I did see a review of another Total Wine location mentioning past expiration date beer. I checked the expiration date and saw one of the beers I was hoping to try looked to be well past, so I decided against getting it. That may not be too big of a deal depending on the beer but I decided to skip that one. Overall, love the selection and will be back!
