Did a walk in last night to check into a tattoo my husband, my best friend and I designed together. Ended up working with a guy named Benji. All I can say is dude rocks. I showed him my work up and after we discussed color shading and place and sizing he got to work. He was very clean, he disinfected everything properly before starting and after finishing up. He was very kind to help distract me during the less pleasant part by chatting about art and work, and family stuff (my husband and I were in together getting separate pieces done). At the end of it all the work came out almost exactly like the image I wanted with the almost being slight adjustment for the placement and shading to make it pop. So actually better than the image. My sister and I came in on a Saturday morning looking to get matching Calcifer tattoos. We left our name and number then went across the street to eat and relax before we were called. We waited about 2-3 hours before we were called. This was my first tattoo and my sisters second. We told our artist Matt what we wanted and showed him pictures. In no time he had exactly what we wanted with different size options. He was incredibly patient and kind. I think he could tell I was getting a little nervous and started up conversation to distract me. Moonchild Tattoo in the Tower District of Fresno was just what we needed at the right time! I called and talked to Matt, who was very accommodating, friendly, and open minded! Matt told us to come on in...so we did. 3 girls...off the street...looking for a simple cancer tattoo for a memory. Walked in, place was clean, quiet, and welcoming. The attitude of Matt and his helpfulness with me and 2 of my cousins, one which never had a tatt before, was over the top, and very much appreciated! We came with a simple design that our cousin wanted us to get in her memory. Matt not only made that happen, he did it in the least restrictive environment for everyone involved. I came in last week to inquire about getting a new tattoo and talked with a young Lady at the front desk about what it is I wanted and when would be the best time to come in , And who would be the best person for what I want it done as far as shading and detail... the answer she gave me was bland.. " Whenever is fine we do except walkins , we're only closed on Wednesday (even though the sign out front says seven days a week) and just get here super early so that you can put your name on the list and we will make sure will get to you, anybody here at the shop can do the tattoo that you want they're all more than capable. so being that as it may hear I am first thing in the morning..five minutes early before 11 AM Tuesday morning and the place is closed ... totally let down.. I tried calling the number on the glass that didn't work. I wait out front for at least 30 minutes in the hot sun and nobody's appearing to show up .. I even asked the next-door bar if they knew when or if anybody would be coming to open up the tattoo shop and he tells me as far as he knows it's by appointment only... well that's not the information that I got last week so that sucks but whatever I'll just take my money elsewhere was planning on spending like $3000 here but oh well read more

Just before I start this review: I looked up the business on Instagram. There I was able to figure out the name of the individuals who I encountered in the shop. I was literally yelled at today, by Matt. He raised his voice at me. I understand I might have been a little difficult, because I asked questions and because I wanted a lower price for a small tattoo (he wanted to change me minimum $100-$120 for a tattoo about as small as three inches and I was just wanting to understand why another tattoo artist of the same shop would have charged me only $150 for a tattoo that covered my whole forearm, hence why I wasn't understanding). I already had so many bad days lately, and i wanted to get tattooed to make me feel better. He's just like everyone else I come across every day of my life. This individual today could have handled himself in a more controlled and professional manner. I even tried to walk away from him to talk to the other tattooist that was present there, his colleague Edgar. There were no other customers present during the short 10min or so that i was there, around 5:30PM on Saturday January 29, 2022. I was hoping I could get away from Matt because he was bothered by me and I could not speak to someone who has their voice raised in anger at me. So I turned to Edgar, and I said to him that his colleague was rude (that was an understatement, it was more like abuse and I should have walked away but I was giving Edgar a chance at customer service as a role model to his co worker) and what was Edgar's response? "I am rude, too" The people in this establishment are beyond belief. I even posted them I was so excited to get a tattoo there. I almost cried, but they're not worth my tears. I hope nobody gets yelled at there. I know I am a small girl, but they didn't have to treat me that way as a potential paying customer. But it's okay, now I know that people are rude, no matter if you're giving your confidence for them to mark your skin. Imagine If he got mad at me during the tattoo process? I wouldn't want a bad memory of someone ugly outside and inside to stay in my skin and memory. Let me just add the amount of time and research it takes to find a great tattoo artist with a great personality who isn't all about money, but who is also a good person and makes you feel confident about giving them your time and yeah, money. Actually I am now driving home and crying. Every time I leave my house, someone always ruins my day. No one seems to treat other people with respect and dignity anymore in this world. I guess I'll just never get any tattoos. No one needs tattoos anyways. I had high hopes here because they have good ratings and the previous tattoo artist I spoke to a few months ago wasn't like these people today. Instead of a tattoo, I have tears. Thanks. Went in for a tattoo and was told by the tattoo artist that she was going to sit down and eat and couldn't do a tattoo at the moment. Asked if an appointment could be made to get the tattoo and was told they don't make appointments for small tattoos. Not sure the shop wants business. Maybe that is why no one was in the shop getting a tattoo. read more

He's obviously miserable and takes it out on his "client" if he's having a bad day. Which seems like all the time! Josh has done 99% off my tattoos. He has done a full sleeve in color and is currently in the process of doing my other sleeve again in full color. His color holds really well. Josh is a artist first and I trust a artist I normally give josh just an idea of what I want and I let him create. He is always spot on. I get so many complements to my left arm sleeve I can't wait until he finishes my right arm sleeve. He owns the business and you can tell he and his staff take pride in the cleanliness and environment of the shop. The staff/artist he has are really cool and great artist as well. I walked in greeted by staff asked What I wanted done. Told Josh what I wanted then he suggested something totally opposite from what I asked for. I chalked it up with creative differences. He said they could do it in a half hour everyone was busy with a client. So I sat and waited for half an hour .15 minutes later Josh comes back to me sorry there's a glitch with a client and artist. From what I over heard was that the client wanted specific flowers on her back and showed the artist what she wanted and the artist didnt do what she asked. So the appointment was going to take longer and her tattoo was going to end up being twice the size as what she wanted because they didn't listen to what she wanted in the first place. So I was told it would be another hour and a half. Due to there mistake with the client . I'm sure they got more money out of her for that and that's not the kind of business I want to deal with. read more
