Prior to our appointment, Erica Alarid from Moon Valley called regarding the scope of work that we were interested in getting done on our property. He wanted things that needed attention and watering and I had to remind him that I was always killing even our plastic plants! Anyhow, we arrive there on a Saturday and meet the loveliest woman there. I bought a beautiful Desert Gold Peach tree from Moon Valley in Chino. It was a really nice experience. Big shout out to Ana 'Apple' Garita who was extremely helpful. She helped me find just the right tree and they loaded it up for me and now it's happily in the ground. I look forward to some nice ripe peaches in just a couple months! One star because you have to at least give one. Unfortunately fell for another typical business scam from a big powerhouse conglomerate who will never get my business ever again nor will they get any money out of anyone that I know so that'll knock about a good $200,000 people right off of their customer list. Signed up for a program salesperson Tony put a deposit of $200 down, they will come out to the property evaluate what we have existing already make recommendations for various pruning future growth etc, and then when we decide what kind of a tree we want to put in or trees the 200 would go towards those purchases and they would come back out and set everything up for us. The girl also explicitly said no rush that deposit will just sit on the books until we are ready to use it. Now I'm being told they can't find any record of it but they do show past purchases just not that purchase of the deposit. Typical scam company will never do business with them not to mention that their prices are about seven times higher than anywhere else. read more

Today was the second time we had Travis Zack MVP tech out here to check on all the trees we bought from Moon Valley Nursery this past summer and we could not be happier w his help, his knowledge, or his professionalism. Travis is definitely a Tree Whisperer! He clearly knows and loves trees and he not only knew what he was doing, but also explained to us what he was doing and why-- which is very important to me since ultimately we'll be on our own here and want our trees as healthy and happy as possible in the long run. Travis was patient, polite, professional, genuine, and friendly with us. He took his time answering our questions, made some great suggestions, helped us decide a couple things, and overall had us feeling a lot more confident as home owners who recently made a financial (and tbh emotional) investment in a number of fruiting trees that we really love and obviously want to see thrive. We visited this nursery looking for trees to plant for privacy and were particularly interested in Indian Laurel trees. The staff was very helpful one of the team members even gave us a ride on a cart to the back area to view the trees up close. We had our young toddler with us in the cart so the staff member drove very carefully so we appreciated that. The trees were full and well cared for. The price was a bit outside our budget but we were impressed with the quality and the excellent customer service. They also have a great selection of fruit trees, we'll definitely consider coming back at a later time. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I purchased a double Pygmy palm April 15th, 2022 and they both died with 1 year. This is a review long over due. The delivery and planting of the Pygmy palms were included at an additional fee and I paid it. I called to explain if I could be given at least a replacement and was told it was out of warranty after 3 months. 3 months ? That's absurd! I did everything right. Mind you I've cared for an $8k plus canary palm tree that was planted and delivered and it never died. I feel like I was robbed. They planted the tree as well. Garrett helped us select and locate our tree. Courtney was super communicative and knowledgeable. She set up our delivery. We got to see our 15 year old 36" box Coast Live Oak tree in person the week before the delivery at the Chino location since it came from their Irvine location. The morning of the planting I got texts showing the progress of the delivery truck on its way. Then Justin Salazar and his crew arrived and delivered and carefully hand dug the hole for our tree. Justin was attentive to how we wanted the tree to be placed. After it was planted, the well was set and mulched. Then he shared with me watering tips, fertilizing, and proper care as our tree gets adjusted to its new home! Justin and his crew deserve a raise! read more

Buyer be careful. Bought a tree from them in 2022. The tree died and it was replaced with another tree in 2023. The replacement tree fell over today due to the high winds. When it fell over you can see that there isn't much of the roots that have grown into the soil it planted into and the tree hasn't really shown any growth in the 2 years it's been planted. Called them today to see what can be done. They did offer me 50% off on a tree and they offered me a service to come out to the house every 3 months to ensure that the tree was growing and to perform soil conditioning and nutrients. This service to come out every 3 months is a new service that is offered? It wasn't offered to me at the time of buying initially or after the replacement was installed. Trees aren't cheap. Buy the warranty even if it's 600.00 year. You'll never know if you'll need it! Think twice before spending with them because the bang for your buck may not be there. read more

My wife and I stopped by their Chino, CA location to see what types of fruit trees they carried. We were met by Ana Garita. Told her what we were interested in and she took us for a tour. I was happily surprised by her vast amount of knowledge as to what we wanted and where to find them. She showed us exactly what we were looking for and what size containers they came in and how old they were. The prices were not bad for the size we wanted and the trees were very healthy. We purchased a tree as well as delivery and care. A few days later, due to issues on our part, we had to cancel the order. Anna forwarded the info up the chain and we were contacted by Dallin Inman, a district manager from the company the next day and everything was quickly resolved. I couldn't have hoped for a better interaction with a company. When we're ready, we'll be going back to their location again! read more

Arborist are non-responsive!!! I contacted Chino Moon Valley Nursery on Monday, Feb 24 and spoke with a rep, who provided me her cell phone number and asked me to send pictures of the trees I wanted consultation services for, 100 year old camphor's . Upfront I told her that I agree to their ridiculous $$$ fee and shared my address. NO ONE ever got back to me. I followed up a second time and still no response. The company heavily advertises their services but yet fails to follow up on a simple request! Fortunately for us there are plenty of other ISA certified arborist to choose from! read more

I would like to thank Ramon Morales for his exceptional work when servicing my trees. I didn't have time to really look at them when he finished due to a scheduling conflict. However, the next day when I had time to sit out back and look at his work, I was very pleased with how beautiful they were. You could tell he put his time and effort into caring for them. I'm at my wit's end. The problems started as soon as we handed over the credit card to pay, and unfortunately, things only got worse from there. After numerous follow-ups, I received inconsistent advice from different employees, leaving me feeling extremely frustrated and misinformed. In April 2023, we purchased 5 trees from this location. When selecting the trees, we clearly stated that our soil was very clay-heavy and that we had had trouble keeping certain plants alive because of that, and asked for the best solution. Multiple sales reps assured us that the trees they recommended would thrive in the soil provided with the tree installation, and even promised to add extra soil to improve drainage. We felt confident in the purchase, especially with the first year of trees covered under warranty. Unfortunately, one tree didn't take at all and had to be replaced, while another is barely surviving. The remaining three trees are doing "okay," but we've encountered significant soil issues. When I reached out for advice, I was told that all I needed were their special products--soil conditioners, Moon Juice, and Moon Dust. I was already using the Moon Juice and Moon Dust but was told to buy more. I called multiple times and had a few employees visit the house, only to receive conflicting advice each time regarding watering and care. We also paid ~$500 to have our artificial turf pulled up around one of the trees during installation and found out that the existing tree's foliage was sparse compared to the new one. I raised this concern with the installers, who reassured me it was normal. However, after consulting with an arborist, it became clear that the installation was done poorly and the clay-heavy soil mixture was preventing proper drainage. For the second year (before the arborist appointment), we renewed our warranties and added the MVP service for professional care and advice. The first MVP visit was disappointing--no specific guidance was given, and we were told that his boss would need to come out for a proper inspection. Despite promises that I would be contacted within the week to schedule the follow-up, two weeks passed with no call. After several attempts to follow up, I was told the report wasn't even submitted. A few more days passed, and after reaching out again, I was told I needed to speak directly to the care department. I was given a number to call, but each time I called, I was routed back to the same general office, where I'd already spoken to someone. It felt like a never-ending loop. To make matters worse, I noticed a newly planted tree was in danger of being uprooted due to strong winds. Despite my concerns, no one took immediate action. At this point, I inquired about the warranties for our trees and was told that only replacements were possible--never mind the ongoing issues with the installation and poor communication. It feels like I'm constantly chasing them down with no resolution. I finally had an appointment scheduled with the assistant manager, but communication was poor. I was told I would receive a confirmation notice the day before, but was only given a 20-minute notice before they showed up the day of the inspection. The visit felt like a sales pitch, heavily emphasizing a "free" $200 soil injection, which should have been part of the MVP program. Despite following their care instructions, our other older (barely surviving) tree is now dying. I was told to wait 3-4 months to see if the soil injection might work. After five months of the MVP service, I have yet to have a proper service, and my emails expressing concerns and frustrations remain unanswered. Now, two of our trees are dying, and removing them would cost at least another $500 due to the impact on our artificial turf. At this point, the only viable solution would be to just be done with Moon Valley and to get a refund for almost everything: those two trees (even though all 5 are having soil issues) and the MVP service. But what we're being told is that there are no refunds, even if the issue is clearly with the company. For such expensive products, the lack of customer service is unacceptable. I would simply not recommend using Moon Valley Nursery. Their installation process appears to foster a dependency on warranties and MVP services, which ultimately fail to address the underlying issues caused by poor installation practices and inadequate tree care guidance. read more

They are a big nursery chain in Southern California. Chances are they will have what your looking for. They do landscape design, installations and offer insurance on their plants and trees. But you pay for it with higher prices in general. My local nursery ran out of agapanthus, so I called Moon Valley nursery to see if they had any and they did. They had plenty. read more
