God I love this pub!…read more OK, so it's REALLY not glamorous in the slightest but it's incredibly friendly, a great place to watch football (it's a Liverpool pub but the clientele is mixed and all are welcome) and does top notch and cheap curry. The Chilli Paneer, chilli chicken and peshwari naans are particularly recommended. A nice place for traditional pub pursuits (football, beer, darts, banter, etc).

Visited for the first time during early June 2012 with some friends who'd been here a few times…read morebefore. Live band playing old skool Bollywood music from 8-midnight on Fridays; some of their songs were a bit hit and miss and they did murder a couple of classics but on the whole they were fairly decent, a few people got up and danced towards the end of the evening, generally the music style is quite mellow, singalong popular Hindi tunes rather than in your face bhangra. The bar prices are average, although the bar staff don't seem to be overly efficient, strange that they serve you soft drinks such as fruit juice in the bottle and have to be asked to provide a glass with ice, also the glasses seem really old and need to be either thrown away or WASHED very thoroughly! Empty glasses left on tables far too long and empty food plates seemed to take ages to clear away. The Indian food which is competitiely priced is rather bland considering most of the clientele are Indian here, everyone in my group who ordered food said the food is always bland, but the sauces provided do help give the food a bit more flavour. Decent sized car park available, live sports on TV and pool tables to keep customers entertained also make this a decent enough local pub.

Great bands ant the weekend. Amazing beers in this eccentric pub. A wonderful community quiz night…read moreon a Thursday. Well worth a visit.

I could pretty much write the same that 'willyum1950' has written as I totally agree with…read moreeverything he has said (apart from I don't live in Addlestone but do live about 2 miles from this pub). This pub is a FANTASTIC pub everything a pub should be. The Barley Mow has many, many regulars and that shows what a fantastic pub this is. The regulars are all very friendly and 'newcomers' are made to feel very welcome. It's dog friendly too and there's lots of regular dogs that enjoy the attention that they always get too. The ale served here is served how it should be. The barrels are looked after and kept at the right temperature in the cellar the pipes are kept clean and all of this makes for a delicious ale. One would think this sounds easy but so many pubs get this wrong the Barley Mow isn't one of them. They frequently rotate the ale and the guest ales are a plenty. Summer lightning and Twickenham ales are regulars I believe. They also sell 'proper' cider but as this isn't my thing, I can't comment on how good it is. John, the landlord, is a friendly, happy guy and clearly enjoys what he does and he does it exceptionally well. This pub continues to win Camra awards year after year and quite rightly so. The live music (Friday/Saturday) is great and everyone joins in. Haven't yet been on a Wednesday but I'm sure it's just as great. Weekend daytimes are great too. It's a perfect place for a pint and reading the newspapers. I have never been to this pub and not enjoyed myself. No beer 'garden' as such but there is an outdoor space with tables/benches that probably seat 50 or so people easily. There's also a car park out the back and plenty of parking out the front. It's a very eclectic place both inside and out (there's a dinosaur outside and loads of lovely odds and ends inside). I'm pretty sure that they offer free wi-fi now too but don't quote me on that. Have been going here for about 5 years now and have no intention of stopping. Will continue to support this fantastic 'local' for as long as I can. Thanks to John and the rest of the staff for running such a great pub. The website has been updated so more info on there http://www.themow.co.uk/ SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL PUB!
