Because it's Sphon Ranch-designed, we're talking about a generous, $800,000 outdoor skateboarding facility here and what's more, unlike the Sphon Ranch park in Gainesville, this one has night lighting and thus is open to around ten at night. The variety and quality of skate terrain is impressive, there's a decent-sized bowl, handrails, stairs--good stuff all around. The local kids are pretty impressive too, really--you'll meet some skaters here who really rip. Even though it seems small it draws the best people:skaters... a great spot to learn a trick. We've seen all types of skaters come thru from the legendary and current pros, to old skaters from the 70s like myself... and most of all, kids just looking to learn to sKate. If you are a beginner, best to go before noon.... after 1pm all the college, high school and middle school heavies take over. It's most crowded 3 hours before sunset. Though it's set up for street ... there is a fun 4' quarter pipe and C Bowl (small 2' half bowl ). If you are an old Skool skater, like I am ... I suggest you evolve and learn to skate some street obstacles ;) plenty of obstacles to help you evolve at this little park... as a person & a skater

This is something that can be controlled unless it's under covered. Other than this - the ramps are great. The roof/ceiling of the bleacher areas have graphics/ inappropriate things - but again, that's something that cannot be controlled and time consuming when it comes to maintenance. Most of the better skate parks around Florida--Bradenton, Gainesville, Daytona and others--are public and free of admission, so Treaty ought to be as well. I'm glad the powers that be finally came to their collective senses on this. Treaty is a good park, it's somewhat unique as it has more rolling inclines and bowl-like features than most skate parks which emulate street skating and street features have. It harkens back to the early days of pool-inspired concrete parks in California in this regard. It has lights and seems to be open until ten on weekends, maybe nine or ten weekdays? Not sure on that, but on a Saturday the lights were on until ten. This skate park is used, too: there are always skaters here when it's open and it's open for BMX as well as skating. Overall, it's not the very best but a pretty rad park and the new policies are certainly an improvement.

For those of you who enjoy a good kick flip, here is what the skate park offers: -Huge bowl - looks like an empty swimming pool with 9 foot walls! -A couple of 1 / 2 pipes -Rails to grind -Ledges to drop in -Skaters can do their thing until 10:00 pm every evening! There also is a little area for beginning skaters to practice their budding 'Tony Hawk-ness' as well! You can rent skate equipment in the Pro Shop as well. This is a plus in my book as most of the kids, well maybe it's just MY kid, don't like to bring their own. If you have a skater under 18 they will be required to sign a 'If you break your neck, we are not liable waiver', but in my experience this document is standard for all skate parks of this nature. The only thing to really be aware of is that there really is no covered areas in the actual bowl of the park. So, make sure you slather up your son or daughter with sunscreen and bring some Gatorade as this kind of physical activity in the Florida sunshine can be taxing on the most conditioned child. The Pro Shop is air conditioned, but is very small. So it doesn't serve as a very efficient resting point as this park can get packed with kids. They do sell drinks here in the Pro Shop however. Here is the best part for the parent of the avid skateboarder...this professionally constructed park is completely FREE!!!

ESPECIALLY the bowl. This park is always crowded because all the skaters are always trying to do tricks and it results in no room for people who aren't regulars to become regulars. The actual park part is cool, full of children which can be weird. This park is okay. Terrifying to those with social anxiety and very intimidating to new skaters. Busy every single day, poor park never gets a break.

It says it has over 10,000 square feet of newly remodeled space. It has many rooms for birthday parties. It has basketball, pickleball an indoor playroom for the kids. It offers classes for adults teenagers and children. It even had a small arcade room. The area surrounding the recreation center is beautiful. Across the street is a large lake/pond with a water fountain with a walking trail. When you pull into this area it has a tree-lined road something you just don't see anymore. The facility had plenty of parking and was very clean and well maintained. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy with kids everywhere playing and enjoying the beautiful weather we had that day. I wish we had something like this in Sanford, FL. I really appreciated that the kids playground was covered so the metal wasn't too hot to play on. I actually checked and felt it. I do wish the benches there were more in the shade too though. The splash pad was pretty big and tons of fun for the littles. The park also inches a skate park, ball field, basket ball/racket ball areas, and a dog park. Lit up very well with maintenance and security roaming around, which I also appreciated. It seems to be very well taken care of and will be on the list for fun activities this summer for sure.
