The dunes feel almost sculpted by time, covered in sea oats that sway just enough to make the whole place feel peaceful. What I love most is that it's a relaxed spot where animals and their owners can simply exist without all the usual chaos of a crowded beach. You see people walking their dogs along the sand or letting them explore the edges of the dunes, and the whole scene feels calm and genuine. Even as someone who doesn't have a dog myself, I like watching those little moments where animals seem perfectly content and humans look just as relaxed. I think that's why Old Salt Park sticks with me. It's not trying to be a polished postcard beach. It's a little wild, a little rugged, and completely unbothered by perfection. The kind of place where nature feels honest and the atmosphere feels easy. It gives you room to breathe, to think, to just take in the view without any pressure. And even without a dog, I can appreciate a place that lets people and their pets be themselves. This beach is so unique in comparison to almost every other FL beach, and I love it for that! The…read moresand is this cool orangish color because it's a mix of actual sand and crushed sea shells, and it almost gives you this other-worldly feel.. It's also really spongey so it's a good workout just to walk a ways. I felt much more at peace here than some other beaches- it's not as touristy so it's much more chill than some of the more mainstream FL beaches and it's a great change up. There are huge waves- perfect for surfing or boogey boarding. But that being said, the waves hit the shore pretty hard even up close so just something to be aware of if you're bringing kids. They have a big pier to fish off of and bathrooms and rinse station. Right across the street (A1A) all along the road there are dozens of restaurants, shops, and other businesses all within walking distance of the beach, it's so cool and nice to have everything so close by! Flagler is also a half hour from St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, so it's a great place to stay for a few days that's quieter but you can still see more of the coast. I think this is one of the coolest beachtowns I've been to yet. You gotta come here at least once just to experience how different it is!

We take advantage of this a few times a month, our dog absolutely loves the water and sand and it's never crowded. Note that they do require you to keep your pet on a leash but we always bring our long-line leash so he can roam around. As far as the main "boardwalk" area of Flagler, there's plenty to see and do. We like to sit near the pier and watch the surfers catch waves. There's definitely a friendly, old-school hippy-surfer vibe in Flagler that I love. A few fun beach bars that have outside seating with views of the ocean that make for a great lunch spot. One of my favorite things about Flagler is the drive to get there, take the A1A for a scenic ride up (or down) the coast, it's a real crowd-pleaser for out-of-town guests, they'll love the views! Overall, don't miss checking out this little gem of a city, you won't be disappointed.

The pools were warm but they had construction going on around them which killed the relaxation factor. They were also located far from the condo which was about a 3/4 mile walk with all your stuff. The beaches are nice and clean and the people are friendly. I would bring my family back again for another family vacation.

The colors and style were very warm. The table was sturdy and set with eight chairs. I don't like fake plants, and the place had them in every room, but it is just a taste difference. Many of the table ornaments were boxes that my kids kept wanting to put things in, eep, very nervous that we would leave something behind because kids hid it. The kitchen was very nice to use with bowls and spoons for cereal, glasses for water or wine, mugs for coffee, a full sized coffee maker in the room, dishwasher and a full sized fridge. With a grocery store just down the road, it was easy to fill the fruit basket-pantry-fridge with everything we needed. The kid bedrooms were decorated beach or nautical and had their own sinks but shared a tub/toilet part of the bathroom. Pocket doors made the tight bathroom spaces less snug. The master bedroom was lovely of course. The mattress was certainly not one I'd want at home but worked fine for a week. Ceiling fans all over kept the rooms cool and air fresh. The patio was really cool during rain but totally useless otherwise because of mosquitos. The ceiling fan outside probably helped but walking on thousands of dead bugs to sit outside didn't appeal to me. The night we checked in, we found a couple maintenance issues, and a very nice man was able to help us the next morning. Housekeeping kept us in towels and took out trash every day. They were great. Maybe it's a California thing, but I had a real problem throwing out cans and bottles. They don't have a way to recycle.

Due to the sandy conditions, I lost my footing and my 92 yr old mother fell on top of me while in the wheelchair. Fortunately I was able to get us righted without too much trouble but it was a bit of a hassle. Would not recommend for anyone using a wheelchair.

The rocks are super cool and once you walk over to them they go on as far as the eye can see, no joke. They are really fun to walk across and watch the ocean waves hit them, it's so mesmerizing and tranquil, I loved just standing there and soaking it all in with the sun shining down. Add in the other wonders of Washington Oaks SP on the other side of the road and it makes for an amazing, scenic trip!
