I found Moo Free Beverages at the Festival of Trees in Mississauga. I was there for a Yelp elite experience and ended up making a purchase with Moo Free.
I didn't do any research about the businesses that were a part of this Yelp experience. It was a cool learning experience to find out that Moo Free Beverages has not only vegan drinks, but vegan eats, including chocolates, spreads, and cookies.
My eyes immediately went to the cookies. Specifically, the Italian orange cookies looked so good. The woman behind the stand was so patient and great with me. I asked about how strong the orange flavour was. She said that it was subtle, but you could taste the orange. I also asked about how sweet it was. She said that the cookie was sweet, but not overdone.
I bought two cookies. I got the chocolate and Italian orange crumble cookies. As much as I love chocolate peppermint beverages, I decided to put that on hold. Each cookie was $2.50.
I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got a receipt in the form of a text message.
I learned that their store is in Oakville where they make their dairy-free beverages and products, but it's more online. I swear that everything cool is popping up in Oakville.
My perk came with a small chocolate crumble cookie and a small bottle of holiday vegan nog. I was excited to devour my goodies, along with my extras.
Last night, I had all three cookies after dinner. These cookies were scrumptious. They were all chewy in the centre and crispy on the outside. They had sugar, but they weren't too sweet for me, which I appreciated. The orange flavour was perfect. It's stronger than subtle, but it's not overpowering. The chocolate cookies had the perfect amount of chocolate flavour. These were excellent cookies.
I just had the holiday vegan nog today. I love dairy-free nog and this one was delicious. Vegan nog is typically not as creamy than eggnog, but the nutmeg flavour was spot on. It does have coconut in it, which reminded me of Chinese candy that I used to consume in my childhood. If you don't like coconut, you may not like this nog. It wasn't overly sweet, even though it does have dates and maple syrup in it. I loved it.
Moo Free offers delivery. It does deliver to Markham on Wednesdays. There are a handful of stores that carry Moo Free products, but it's likely best to order directly from Moo Free's site during this pandemic when restrictions tend to change.
