The USDOS was processing documents out of order and very slowly due to COVID, which was very frustrating. Nicole was super helpful and responsive, and always gave me updates on what was going on. I used the service to get an FBI background check apostilled for a Visa application. I paid extra for expedited service. I sent my application one or two days after my husband. His arrived in the mail within two weeks and I had not heard anything about mine shipping yet. I reached out and they said the FBI background check service I used required a password and they can't access it. I checked and they were right, but why hadn't someone reached out? When I submitted my application I received an automated email they received my request. The email they sent about my password went to my junk mail. They do have notification on their site to check junk mail, but I figured since the automated reply came through fine it wasn't an issue. Luckily I still received my documents at the same time our marriage license apostille came in, so we didn't lose any time. This would honestly be a 5 star review or no review at all if the customer service had been better. I wasn't at all notified of my apostilled background check being ready and I had asked for a scan to be sent over when it was ready. They didn't send over the scan and I wasn't able to follow up on it due to personal circumstances for about three weeks after the estimated pick up time. When I finally got ahold of someone at their office, he was rude to me when all I was doing was reaching out to get things sorted out and get my document. Although I didn't get my scan in a timely matter from them, picking up the document was on me, but being rude without just figuring things out is absurd. Trying to get an apostille from the Dept of State in the COVID era is very anxiety-inducing, but Monument Visa and their staff (Kevin and Nicole Carlson) made it less stressful. Even though the Authentications Office is not operating normally these days and does not have counter service, Monument could still submit my document because they are an agency. Kevin kept me informed on the weeks it took for other documents they submitted to be returned to them, which gave me a better idea as to when I should expect my apostille to be completed. It took DOS about 5 weeks to apostille my document--I submitted in late May (usually Monument would be able to physically submit and pick up any documents within a few days). Any information really helps in these uncertain times. They are also very responsive and pleasant, and their rates are reasonable. I would use again and strongly recommend their service! I would recommend Monument Visa for all of your visa needs! I needed an Apostille for my FBI background check and Monument submitted it as soon as they received it. Unfortunately Dept of State is not allowing walk-ins or expediting services due to Covid, so the fast turn-around that could normally be expected is unavailable, for all courier services - even the ones that charge you well over $150. Though Dept of State is operating very slowly at this time and not offering the expediting option, the benefit of submitting your requests via Monument Visa is that you will get updates from them on estimated return time. They are receiving documents regularly and can estimate where yours is in the process - again, just an estimate, as Dept of State isn't offering anyone specific information on documents. (The time of Covid is quite a frustrating time for authentications.) The staff at Monument Visa is so helpful and friendly and kept me informed along the way.
