I was first requested to have a mandatory paid initial consultation session to go over my legal help needed. I was introduced to Julie S. during this session. After describing my specific case & needs, she informed me that Geller Law can handle my case. What followed was months of emotional stress & redundant conversations with the staff of this firm that yielded no results. It became clear to me that they didn't know how to legally handle my case. Some staff members were argumentative & appeared trying to take advantage of this emotional situation for me. There were redundant conversations that I was later billed for. I concluded that this firm is not the choice that can handle my case professionally. I terminated my work with them. The new law firm I selected to handle my case turned out to be more knowledgeable for my case. And, more compassionate with me. The process was handled smoothly & professionally to completion.

Mr. Yoon saw me from a million miles away as I entered the courtroom and nervously waited for my time to present my appeal and request for work/medical license due to legal ramifications I had placed myself in due to my negligent abuse of alcohol which when coupled with my untreated alcoholism led my DUI and to my criminal conviction and revocation of my rights to operate a motor vehicle until my sentence, probationary fees, and other legal fees were accounted for. Mr. Yoon approached me in the courthouse in 2015-2016, apologies for the gap in time as the specific date alludes me, as our greatest enemy is time, but I digress. Mr. Yoon identified that I was walking into a metaphorical minefield as it was extremely obvious that I was out of my depth when I walked in. He briefly asked me about my situation I was in and represented me and assisted me with my appeal in my case. He requested that I submit a Yelp Review, I could've sworn I already wrote one, but I have found myself in a moment of retrospection, reminiscing about how noble and just his shear presence was and how comforting he was during my state of vulnerability. I regret that the DUI happened at all in the first place and that I lost the career that I loved so much. But I am thankful that no one was hurt or killed as a result of my stupidty as I firmly know I would not be able to live with myself if I caused undue harm or death to my fellow american(s) or human being. I found myself yearning to address this once more to hopefully mentor someone that may be going through a bad time in their life that it is OK to reach out for support as there are many other people out there amongst us that have fallen into war with themselves and their past, present, and the fear and uncertainty that the future holds for us. But if we arm ourselves with knowledge and build each other up rather than tear each other down as Mr. Yoon exemplifies by his character and willingness to help those that lack proper representation. In my closing statements, I hope to leave these breadcrumbs to help other lost souls and pay it forward, because without a person like Mr. Yoon, I would not be the man I am today. His poor organizational timeline caused unnecessary delays and on multiple occasions he got details of my case wrong and documents had to be redrafted; at least twice confusing my wife's and my information. This was most notable when he thought (well into the case and with a signed property agreement in hand, mind you) that I was paying her in the settlement rather than the reality that I was receiving funds from her. In the end the case went as expected and other than a few weeks worth of unnecessary delays I was not harmed. When looking for a lawyer though, is this really the standard you want to use?

I used USAS while working to get my Chinese worker's visa. I had tried a couple of other agencies but they were either unresponsive or charged exorbitant rates. Although still having some hesitations, given some of the other reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff are responsive and skilled at managing the process. They have the most reasonable prices I could find for such services and showed commitment to achieving all of the work to the highest standard. The experience of working with them went excellent, with a couple of exceptions. -I requested that they update me when progress was made so I that I could know which stage of the process they were in. Although they agreed to this, they did not follow through. The only time I got updates was when I followed-up myself. -My background check had to be certified on the state level before it could go with the rest of my documents to DC, but they didn't make that clear until it was too late making me order a new one delaying the process a few weeks. Despite these hold-ups, working with USAS was a refreshing experience and I am so glad that I chose them. A definite recommendation, but just make sure that you seek clarification of exactly what the document requirements are before you send them, and make inquiries when you want an update, instead of assuming that they will initiate it. read more

US Authentication Services has been outstanding at getting apostilles on the documents I needed for my visa application. In addition to being the most reasonably priced service I found, I had an issue with my Social Security income verification, which the State Dept would not apostille because it had not been signed by an office manager, which Social Security explained they do not do. US Authentication Services made a second trip to the D.C. Secretary of State at no additional cost and got the apostille I needed. I needed a criminal background check authenticated by the U.S. Department of State and by the Chinese consulate in D.C. They provided me the forms with instructions on how to fill them out. There was an issue with how I completed one of the forms and they communicated with me quickly to get it corrected. Overall a good choice to get this document authenticated at a reasonable cost. Like most people, I assumed everything would move sequentially -- first the slow Department of Justice, then the Department of State, and finally the foreign embassy. What I didn't expect was that this provider would run parallel processes instead. They handled one set of documents through the full DOJ State Embassy chain while simultaneously moving another set directly from the Department of State to the embassy. Because of this proactive approach, I was able to submit my visa application more than 60 days earlier than planned. His arrived in the mail within two weeks and I had not heard anything about mine shipping yet. I reached out and they said the FBI background check service I used required a password and they can't access it. I checked and they were right, but why hadn't someone reached out? When I submitted my application I received an automated email they received my request. The email they sent about my password went to my junk mail. They do have notification on their site to check junk mail, but I figured since the automated reply came through fine it wasn't an issue. Luckily I still received my documents at the same time our marriage license apostille came in, so we didn't lose any time. There aren't that many services like this to choose from so you're pretty much stuck.
